The position:

Scleroderma & Raynaud’s UK (SRUK) is the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by Scleroderma and/or Raynaud’s. They exist to improve awareness and understanding of these conditions, to support those affected, and ultimately to find a cure.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation. SRUK are scaling up to enable them to deliver a significant increase in the level of investment for research so that people affected by Scleroderma or Raynaud’s have access to the most relevant treatment, information and support. They are looking for someone with the drive and ambition to foster strategic partnerships to help make this a reality.

As Head of Research & Information, you will play a key role in delivering an ambitious research strategy to achieve life changing results for people with Scleroderma and Raynaud’s, working closely with those affected and the medical and scientific community.

Working with the Chief Executive the Head of Research & Information will:

• Lead the delivery & further development of SRUK’s research strategy, including delivery of two ambitious data-centric projects – the Patient Registry and the Raynaud’s App
• Proactively identify new strategic research & funding opportunities
• Oversee the delivery of the research grant process and manage the Research Grants Committee.
• Oversee the development and delivery of SRUK’s portfolio of information and support for the Raynaud’s and Scleroderma community.
• Be a source of scientific expertise for the organisation. Develop SRUK in accordance with its constitutional and statutory obligations, financial framework, code of conduct and best practice.
• Report regularly to the Chief Executive on the progress of SRUK’s work and to act as a member of the SRUK’s senior management team.

Requirements:

• Qualified to PhD level or equivalent post-graduate qualification, you will have proven experience of biomedical and/or epidemiological research.
• You can demonstrate a clear understanding of the research grant funding process.
• You have excellent communication skills.
• You have the ability to build successful strategic partnerships across healthcare, health-tech and/or research sectors.
• You have a desire to create positive change and to make a real difference to the application of research to patient benefit, the quality of services and support for people with Raynaud’s and Scleroderma.

The Support Services Coordinator is crucial in helping with the administration and data management of the Support and Information team. We are a small and friendly team of 8, who need a coordinator with excellent I.T. and data skills who is keen to put these into practice to directly support bereaved families and the professionals who work with them.

This is a great role for someone with excellent organisational skills and a passion for the work of the charity.

About the role:

NCT Parents in Mind is a commissioned project training volunteer peer supporters to deliver peer support to parents of under 2s who are experiencing mild to moderate wellbeing difficulties.  We now run 4 in person groups across the county alongside a remote offer. 

We are looking for a motivated and talented individual to support our volunteer team and service delivery team to support the smooth running of the Parents in Mind peer support service in East Sussex.  This role is to cover a maternity leave and will run initially until March 2025, with the possibility of extension, subject to funding and the colleague’s return.  This role is home-based but will require regular travel (sometimes at short notice) to attend groups in Hastings and Uckfield, so easy access to transport and a flexible approach to working are essential (travel expenses provided). 

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Being the key local contact for service users and supporting their group attendance.
• Building strong relationships with the volunteer team and covering absences at group when required.
• Tracking and monitoring attendance using our database system.
• Networking and making local connections to promote the service and support volunteer recruitment.

It will be essential for the post holder to undertake the training to become a peer supporter. This training requires lived experience or close support of another who has experienced mental health difficulties during the transition to parenthood.

About the role:

The Islington Multi-Disciplinary Service is funded by the London Borough of Islington. The service is funded to  support vulnerable residents aged 18 and upwards , with a focus on tenancy sustainment and developing independent living skills. The service works closely with partner agencies across the borough to support clients to maximise opportunities to lead fulfilling lives. Partner agencies include local Housing Departments , DWP , Treatment Agencies and Mental Health Services.

The role of the FSW is to support a caseload of up to 25 clients within a recovery framework. 

The primary focus is on preventing tenancy breakdown, improving quality of life and promoting independence. This can involve helping our clients to maximise or stabilise their income. It could also involve us helping tenants to address other issues such as substance use and mental health problems. 

The role includes hybrid working and will be based in our office in Holloway and at home.

About you:

• Experience/knowledge of supporting clients to carry out tasks such as budgeting , calculating benefit entitlements and understanding rent arrears and housing options.

About the role

The Project Manager will provide effective and dynamic leadership and project management at Montfort and Bentley House, ensuring that all aspects of the service operate within a psychologically informed way of working.

Main duties

• To provide focused and motivating staff and volunteer management, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are working to the best of their ability and with the needs and aspirations of the people we support at the centre of their work.

Hillside Clubhouse will be launching two brand new community cafés from Highgate East inpatients facility and from Lowther Road outpatients building.  We want to make the cafés a warm, safe and supportive destinations for the whole community, not just patients and visitors.  This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to grow and develop two community cafés and tackle stigmas associated with mental ill health.

The café manager will be instrumental in launching the cafés, so it is important that you feel confident and happy working under your own initiative as well as leading a small team.

Job Description

Community Engagement: Work with the Director of Clubhouse Operations, local community groups and partners to ensure the café is a daytime destination and meets the needs of the local community.

Budget Management: Working with the Executive Director and Director of Clubhouse Operations to manage the income and expenditure for the café.  Ensuring the daily and weekly cashing up is done accurately.

Supply Management: Ensure the kitchen minimises waste and has the produce required throughout the week. Manage the stock taking with the kitchen team.

People Management:  Supervise and manage the cafes team including paid staff and Hillside Clubhouse members.

Menu Creation: Working with the local community, Hillside members and the kitchen team to develop seasonal menus that are reasonably priced.

Partnership Working: Maintaining a good working relationship with the Camden and Islington Mental Health Trust and the team based at Highgate East Mental Health Hospital and the clinical team at Lowther Road

Health and Safety Management: Manage the health and safety procedures for all food and beverage provision including regular checks, inspections and reviews.  Ensuring all staff and volunteers comply with health and safety policies and procedures.

Work across the two cafes and provide support to the teams placed at the two sites

Safeguarding: Safeguarding lead on-site and being responsible for the safeguarding of vulnerable adults access the cafés.

General: Ensuring the cafés are following the policies and procedures of Hillside Clubhouse and being flexible in the support of the cafés and wider Hillside organisation.

Responsible for providing end-to-end resourcing administrative support across a range of talent activities, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping the team deliver against Shelter’s sourcing strategy to reduce cost per hire and build our employment brand. Taking administrative responsibility for the updating of our careers website supporting the ongoing management of our Applicant Tracking System will be important too, as will managing the reporting of vacancies and capturing all activity for consolidation and analysis. About the Directorate

Our Strategy Enablement directorate brings together five core enabling support functions -  Finance, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning and Property and HR Delivery, where this particular role sits. The HR Delivery team partners and supports a wide range of organisational activities and provides advice and guidance to over 1,300 staff on a range of employee relations issues like employee engagement, recruitment and selection, reward and recognition etc. We also manage payroll processes, ensure HR policies and procedures are developed and updated and play our part in organisational change projects and transfers. What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will approach C-suite executives and other industry leaders with confidence. Main duties and responsibilities

Partnership-building (50% of work)

• Support GRP’s established partnership-building strategy, expanding to new audiences in line with approach devised by Head of Partnerships and Strategic Communications Manager
• Support efforts to expand and strengthening GRP’s relationships with UK financial intermediaries, including wealth managers, financial planners, financial advisers and financial coaches.
• Other targeted outreach to potential institutional partners and individual donors, including:
  • Lead conversion through meetings and presentations
  • Coordination and communication with high-value institutional or individual leads

Charity research and impact reporting (40% of work)

• Ongoing relationship management with GRP’s current recommended charities
• Six-monthly data-driven assessment and scoring of GRP’s current recommended charities using our proprietary methodology
• Production of detailed impact reports on GRP’s current recommended charities every six months
• Quarterly presentations to GRPs’ Due Diligence Committee on our recommended charities, impact reports, etc
• Maintenance and updating of GRP’s selection/assessment methodology
• Research on climate charities for possible addition to GRP’s portfolio of recommended organisations

Customer relationship management (CRM) (10% of work)

• Managing company databases, including tracking and managing donor information and regular reporting to the Board of Trustees. Relevant programmes include Salesforce, Mailchimp and the website backend. No prior experience with these programmes required - training will be provided.
• Using data to facilitate ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the team’s progress in fundraising, sales and marketing, and addressing points of inefficiency to optimise conversions.
• Supporting website development and maintenance, including updating copy and visuals, and liaising with web developer.

Providence Row works with those affected by homelessness and those vulnerably housed in London, offering an integrated service of crisis support, advice and progression programmes. We ensure that people often excluded from mainstream services gain the support and opportunities they need to create a safe, healthy and sustainable life.

About the role

• Delivering a range of support to people who use drugs or alcohol, including bespoke harm reduction advice.
• Helping people from historically underserved communities to access the needle exchange and treatment services, as desired.
• Researching new opportunities to engage with members of the Tower Hamlets’ public about drug and alcohol use and available services in the borough.
• Signposting to other support services, as appropriate.
• As needed, accompanying other Reset Outreach and Referral Service workers or external professionals on outreach and in-reach in order to better understand the local environment as well as build rapport with clients.
• As needed, serving in the needle exchange rota in order to better understand the service as well as build rapport with clients. Supporting on a pilot wound care project in conjunction with Accelerate.

The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community that supports young asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced human rights abuses and have sought asylum in the UK as unaccompanied minors. Our two focus areas are rehabilitation and justice.

The role of the Baobab Casework Advocate is to provide care and support for our community of unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee children and young people. An ‘advocate’ is someone who supports another to express their views and wishes, to stand up for their rights, to enable one to make choices and access opportunities, while understanding the individual’s vulnerability and need.  As Casework Advocate you will work within our multidisciplinary team to provide the intensive support required, identify indicators of risk and safeguard young people from significant harm.

Mental Health

As Casework Advocate you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma and grief on their mental health and well-being.  All the young people Baobab supports suffer significant mental health and developmental difficulties and many function in an unstable and more immature way than their chronological age. Due to their experiences, it takes time to gain trust from the young people in our community.

Baobab’s Model

It is our experience that it takes a significant amount of time to understand Baobab’s model of working, which aims for rehabilitation and justice through attending to both the internal and external world of each young person (see more detail in accompanying ‘Baobab Model’ document). It is critical that as a Casework Advocate you strive to have an insight to the experiences of both the internal and external factors impacting on the lives of unaccompanied young people attending our centre. It is also critical you understand the the ways in which UK society and policy impacts on young asylum seekers (including invisibility, marginalisation, discrimination and the fact of waiting in uncertainty for a long time)

Multi-disciplinary Working A key aspect of the role is communicating with members of the team at Baobab and building relationships with other workers in the networks around each young person including social workers, teachers, foster carers, lawyers, clinicians in hospitals and community settings. Baobab aims to be a reflective, thinking organisation and we place a high value on shared thinking time, sharing responsibilities and working together with others who have a key role in relation to each young person both within and outside of Baobab.

Accessing rights and entitlements

The Casework Advocate supports community members to better understand the context in which they are living and how to access appropriate care, rights and entitlements. This involves working closely with each young person’s Key Work Clinician, and together strengthening relationships with external networks and developing holistic support plans to meet identified needs. As a Casework Advocate you must be prepared to challenge certain decisions and practices by external agencies where required for the welfare of the young person. The role involves supporting young people to initiate legal challenges when necessary and advocating on young person’s behalf where they are unable to.

Working towards independence

A key component of the role is to empower individuals to communicate their views, needs and experiences and participate in decision making processes. You will encourage young people to develop their level of knowledge and skills to enable their independence and progression towards their aspirations. Many of the young people Baobab supports find the task of taking responsibility for their own lives and making choices hugely challenging.
