Role and Responsibilities: 

Reporting to the Director of Finance, Operations and Governance, you will:

• Write organisational policies and lead the policy workflow process on Sharepoint, driving policies through the amendment, approval and employee attestation phases.
• Manage the relationship with Blue Marine’s external IT Support consultancy, including communicating changes to cyber security and leading asset management processes.
• Support the finance, fundraising and project delivery teams with funding/partnership contracts, agreements and MoU templates, including writing and reviewing routine agreements.
• Assist with the restructure of data architecture across Sharepoint and provide appropriate support and training for colleagues across the organisation, including future new starters.
• Support the implementation of new software and technologies across the organisation, potentially including Microsoft Copilot AI.
• Advise the executive team on data management and GDPR.
• Assess and manage operational risk, including maintaining the organisational risk register but also in the wider promotion of a responsible risk culture.
• Support the finance and fundraising teams with due diligence queries from donors.
• Assess suitability and manage renewals of insurance cover.

Personal specification

The ideal candidate will be, above all else, an excellent professional communicator, comfortable with both writing formal documents and managing operational change within the organisation.  You do not need to have legal experience but will nevertheless have a proven ability to produce formal but readable agreements and policy documentation.  You do not need to have a technical IT background but will nevertheless be comfortable discussing best practice and data management within the Microsoft Office 365 cloud environment and use your experience to support colleagues to get the best from the technology available to them.  You will be a champion of Blue Marine’s working environment, taking an active role in the office culture and driving staff engagement of operational systems through giving presentations and one-on-one support to colleagues. About the role

The Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD), hosted at the UN Foundation, is a dynamic international partnership of over 700 organisations. GPSDD connects stakeholders to address data gaps and harness opportunities for sustainable development.

In 2018, GPSDD , Sightsavers and partners, launched the Inclusive Data Charter (IDC)  to promote inclusive, disaggregated data for better understanding and addressing the needs of marginalised people. The IDC has grown significantly, with commitments from over 30 Champions.

Sightsavers, a co-founding champion of the IDC, prioritises inclusive data to support its health and inclusion strategies. The Programme Manager - Inclusive Data will work across GPSDD and Sightsavers, managing strategic programmes and partnerships to advance inclusive data initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IDC strategic planning and delivery, ensuring team collaboration with the IDC Technical Advisor and Advocacy Lead.
• Manage relationships with IDC champions, facilitating their engagement through regular calls and meetings.
• Foster partnerships between IDC champions, GPSDD partners, and other organisations to share experiences and strengthen inclusive data systems.
• Lead the IDC impact and learning pillar, capturing and sharing progress through data stories and knowledge products.

About you

In order to achieve our vision we need a highly capable Director of Finance to build and improve on our high-performing finance function and to drive forward operational excellence.

Reporting directly into the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our financial strategy, long-term financial planning, and developing commercial strategies to maximise income and operating contribution. You will also have responsibility of cash management, risk management and governance. You will be the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) for the organisation and will lead on Property and Procurement.

This is a varied and exciting role which will provide you with the opportunity of leading a well-established team of professionals, reporting on the financial performance of the organisation together with providing analysis, advice and support to facilitate decision making to deliver sound financial management.

You will be a qualified accountant, and will need to demonstrate:

· Proven experience in a leadership role;

· Experience at Board level and ability to work in collaboration with Trustees and colleagues;

· Understanding and experience of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls

About the role

Sightsavers’ work in the field of education is driven by the principle of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. We are looking for a Global Technical Lead – Inclusive Education to provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education to guide the development and delivery of specific initiatives and programmes.

As the Global Technical Lead for Inclusive Education, you will support Sightsavers to promote inclusive education for children, youth, and adults with disabilities in education systems in West Africa, East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA), and South Asia. Working across multiple countries, you will ensure that disability inclusion is at the centre of conceptualisation, design and implementation of Sightsavers’ projects.

Strong communication skills in English and French are essential for this role, as is the availability to travel 12-16 weeks a year, nationally and internationally.

Principal accountabilities will include:

• To provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education at the programmatic level
• To strengthen the global programme portfolio in inclusive education through leading strategic and technical inputs in proposal development for funding opportunities.
• To pioneer new strategic initiatives and innovative approaches in inclusive education to improve and enhance the quality of Sightsavers’ work, especially in cross-cutting priority areas like climate action, gender equity and the use of data and evidence.
• To contribute to the research, innovation, policy, advocacy and communications agendas through close collaboration with interdepartmental teams and key external stakeholders.
• To undertake senior level representation of Sightsavers as an expert in inclusive education at national, regional and international professional and sector-specific networks, platforms, conferences and meeting

This is an ideal opportunity to build on your existing expertise in leading and developing programmes in inclusive education in lower income countries. We are looking for a skilled communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across different departments and work collaboratively as a member of our cross-functional teams.  To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Postgraduate qualification (minimum Master’s) or equivalent experience in a relevant field, e.g. education, special needs education; disability, international development
• Business to fluent French language skills
• A proven record of leading, developing and implementing programmes in inclusive education in lower income countries.
• Experience of working with national governments and international institutions such as Global Partnership for Education, UN agencies, bilateral agencies as well as non-state actors to contribute to education system transformation.
• Knowledge of current developments, issues and best practice in inclusive education to effectively address the barriers to education for children with disabilities
• Able to travel for up to 12-16 weeks a year (regional and international).

The Role
