Membership Growth Manager

Full-time, Remote (once per month from office)

We're seeking a Membership Growth Manager to work for the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), a non-profit professional membership body. The successful candidate will drive membership numbers by bringing on new large organisational members, individual members, and develop relationships with new business leads.

The role manages the strategy of acquiring new members, enhancing a pipeline of new business targets through outreach, events and networking. The successful candidate will create suitable value propositions, negotiate agreements with companies and bring on large membership subscriptions. This will include some cold outreach and networking to generate and nurture new leads.

The CIWM has recently acquired the Circular Economy Club (CEC), an international members club with over 11,000 members in 100+ countries. This role will include managing the sales strategy for the development of the CEC's membership growth initiatives.

We are looking for someone ideally with membership experience, otherwise experience within business development, relationship management or a sales driven role in learning and development are suitable. Generating new business is key, implementing sales strategies for long-term growth, networking and using CRM + other tools to new business pipelines.

Quality Assurance Manager (Clinical Trials)

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to join an innovative and independent Clinical Trials Unit (UKCRC fully registered) and help to deliver high-quality research in a unique and challenging setting. You will be key to helping us to successfully set-up and deliver an exciting new adaptive platform trial in paediatric intensive care as well as and helping our unit adapt ahead of conducting a phase II drug trial in critically-ill adults. You will ensure best practice, identify risks and mitigation strategies enhance local Standard Operating Procedures, interpret regulatory and audit requirements and provide guidance, training and support for clinical researchers and trial teams. The post will also involve leading in audits along with preparation for MHRA inspections.

What you will need to succeed

The Applicant must have clinical research experience and experience of conducting managing, auditing or monitoring according to the principles of Good Clinical Practice. A sound knowledge of Good Clinical Practice guidelines, the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research, the Data Protection Act and the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004 and its amendments is essential.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, team working and organisational skills together with a high level of attention to detail. They must be able to work independently with a strong problem-solving ability. The ability to relate to and communicate clearly, sensitively and effectively with people from a variety of professional and personal backgrounds are also essential.

Parentkind is a national charity representing 13,000 Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and has a long term ambition to be the voice of parents in policy making. 

We are looking for someone to support our work in Westminster and Whitehall, improving our relationships across Parliament and inside government as we seek to be the credible voice of parents in UK policy making. 

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of advocacy and policy research in Westminster, either within Parliament or government. If you have a passion for politics, a background in policy research and an interest in education policy and politics this is the role for you.

The role will involve:

• Conducting research on parents, including polling of parents and their views. We have an ambition to make high quality policy recommendations based on this research.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Governance & Legal Structure Coordination

• Support our internationalisation efforts and the set-up / registration of new country entities 

• Conclude & maintain necessary agreements (collaboration agreements, service agreements, contracts, and data protection agreements) between ProVeg International Inc. (US) and new and existing ProVeg legal entities, and liaise with external lawyers for advice

Trademark Coordination

• Manage, oversee and expand the trademark portfolio of ProVeg International Inc. 

• Coordinate infringements actions with a trademark law firm 

• Support the development of a trademark strategy

• Liaise/ manage contact with a trademark law firm 

International Legal Affairs Coordination

• Check and arrange international and national contracts and agreements for ProVeg C.I.C (UK) and ProVeg International Inc. (US) and liaise with external lawyers for advice

• Ensure organisational compliance and assess legal risks. Advise the Senior Leadership Team on mitigation

• Support ProVeg countries (provide templates for contracts etc. or general advice where possible)

Data Protection Coordination

• Act as internal data protection expert (GDPR etc.) and work with colleagues (e.g. Communications, Fundraising, Operations) on compliance and data protection implementation

• Manage, update, maintain and ensure compliance with GDPR and other international Data Protection Regulations 

• Ensure and monitor compliance with Data Protection Regulation for ProVeg’s International Departments and support countries with compliance with national Data Protection laws 

• Raise awareness of data protection compliance among staff and support data protection training

• Liaise with internal Data Protection Coordinator (Germany) and external Data Protection Officer

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field required; graduate degree preferred

• Broad legal knowledge, particularly regarding data protection, contracts, governance, business law, and related regulations. Knowledge around employment law, Trademark, and other areas strongly preferred.

• Proven experience with a minimum of two to three years of working in a legal support role, ideally in the non-profit sector

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• Collaborative attitude, solution-focused, and supportive of international colleagues (particularly Country Directors, Heads and International Senior Leadership and Operations team)

• IT skills, including Google Docs, with advanced proficiency in Google Sheets

The Role
With support from your Manager, produce an income and expenditure budget for your area.
Provide accurate and timely monthly commentary to your manager.
Identity, plan and monitor progress of key activity (in the regional fundraising plan) to deliver the income and expenditure
Manage the activity of a range of local supporters and partner
Manage an agreed number of relationships across your area, ensuring that your supporters have the tools, resources, and support necessary.
Develop and support a portfolio of regional corporate partnerships.

The Candidate
Experience of fundraising, sales and/or customer service environment.

Volunteering is at the heart of the RNLI, and we have over 35,000 volunteers in a variety of roles from operational crew and lifeguards to water safety and fundraising volunteers. Home based within the region, with regular travel to the regional office in Poole and other sites across the area, you will report to the Regional People Lead and work closely with the People Advisor. Your Role

We are seeking to recruit a Volunteering Adviser to join our team in the South East area. For us, this reaches from Swanage to Southend -on- Sea also includes London.

As a Volunteering Adviser, you will work closely with a range of stakeholders across the organisation, supporting the development of volunteering across the South East region, and the wider RNLI.

This will include:

• Implementation of initiatives to improve the volunteer experience.
• Developing sustainable opportunities along with taking a proactive approach to how we support and manage volunteers.
• Providing staff and volunteers with expert advice and guidance in all aspects of volunteering including areas such as recruitment, retention, problem solving and recognition.
• Supporting local implementation of the volunteering strategy.
• Assisting with the development of volunteer management toolkits and support managers in the use of these.
• Delivering volunteer management training workshops to diverse groups of volunteer managers both in person and virtually.
• Being an ambassador for volunteering and ensure it is championed at all levels.
• You will also be required to support a volunteering helpline service for approximately 2 weeks a year (until 8pm weekdays and 10am – 4pm weekends).

About You

To be our Volunteering Adviser you will need:

• Extensive volunteer management experience.
• Confidence in delivering face-to-face and virtual workshops.
• The ability to manage a complex workload.
• Experience in handling volunteering problem solving issues is desirable. In this role you will need to be able to work and plan autonomously. You will also need to have a proactive and flexible approach to work along with excellent interpersonal skills.
