The Landscape

As we approach our 60th anniversary we have been going through a period of strategic and organisational development, expanding our ambitions to create and demonstrate impact, not just for the Fellows themselves but also at a local community and UK-wide level. This will require a phased transition from the current model and we are in the process of defining and internalising this new approach within the organisation.

Following an in-depth strategic and operational review, the new Finance and Operations Director was appointed in July 2023 and was established as our first step in refreshing the staffing structure. We're looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join her team, at this exciting moment and to be a key part of the team as we build on the successes of the last 6 decades and position ourselves for the future.

The Role

The People & Culture Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the human resources function, ensuring that the organisation attracts, develops, and retains high-quality staff. This role  supports the Finance & Operations Director in fostering a positive and inclusive working culture, whilst ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Development

• Support the development of TCF’s approach to effective methods of working and inclusive organisational culture, drawing upon best practice from across the sector and ensuring alignment with organisational values.

• Support the annual planning cycle, working with the Finance & Operations Director to develop and implement the annual and quarterly rhythm of team meetings, workshops and opportunities for team gatherings.

• Support the Finance & Operations Director through developing guidance for line managers to support the annual rhythm of 1:1 meetings and quarterly reviews supporting team members to meeting their operational objectives and personal development goals.

• Support the ongoing development of HR policies and processes, including the newly developed Staff Handbook, recruitment, staff onboarding, probation, annual reviews and professional development, as well as regularly reviewing staff benefits and ensuring they are in line with good practice.

Employee Relations and HR Management

• Maintain elements of the employee database (BambooHR), to support staff with administrative requests relating to annual leave calculations, signing documentation and updating personal information.

• Supporting the recruitment process by creating new roles on BambooHR, arranging the advertising on appropriate websites and working with line managers to initially triage and longlist applications.

• Develop onboarding processes to ensure new team members have the information they need to thrive in the organisation.

• Prepare offers of employment, change of terms letters and other standard employment documentation, with support from external HR Advisors, and the Finance & Operations Director.

• Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures, with support from external HR Advisors, and the Finance & Operations Director.

• Manage the relationship with the appointed EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) including regularly reviewing the support available to ensure it offers the right level of support for team members in line with our values and aspirations as an good employer.

• Develop and build the process for employee objective-setting in BambooHR, and how this then links to the wider organisational strategy, ensuring line managers are equipped to utilize this tool effectively.

• Support the appointed Data Officer (Finance & Operations Director) by managing the organisation’s approach to GDPR and data protection with respect to HR specific processes, overseeing HR systems and records, ensuring data integrity and security.

Learning and Development

• Support the design of a learning and development plan for all teams, identifying potential training options for individuals and teams as needed, working with Directors to identify key learning needs and either develop learning offers to meet those needs or source relevant and high impact external training, for both hard and soft skills.

• Organise and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions to support professional development of all staff.

Team Facilitation & Engagement

• Play a lead role in facilitating and organising team meetings and workshops.

• Proactively developing agendas in advance to ensure staff are kept informed.

• Develop and manage a monthly internal staff update, with contributions from the team.

• Develop and plan team lunches and group activities, with the support of the Operations Co-Ordinator

Line Management

• Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Operations Co-ordinator, supporting in a line management capacity to encourage and develop organisational skills and personal development goals.

In addition to the responsibilities detailed above, the People & Culture Manager will also undertake any new and additional projects at the discretion of the Finance & Operations Director.

We have embraced the benefits of working from home and at the same time, we value the contribution of face-to-face contact in building teamwork, collaborating with your colleagues, exchanging ideas and know-how, and for work efficiency. We therefore operate a hybrid working policy, where staff can work from home if they wish, however everyone is required to work in the office a minimum of 4 to 6 days a month with Tuesdays as the core day for regular whole team meetings.

This international humanitarian charity seeks an interim financial controller. The successful individual will be leading the finance team, responsible for maintaining a strong control environment, processes and procedures, and specifically the year-end consolidated accounts and annual audit preparation.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the preparation of the year-end statutory accounts, including the trial balance.
• Lead in the preparation of the annual audit, and in coordinating project audits; this includes finalising audit schedules, leading on audit queries, and in the implementation of recommendations.

Role particulars

This is an 8 month fixed-term contract, and ideally they are seeking someone to start as soon as possible. They are open to considering someone able to work 4 days/week. Our services help children who’ve been abused, protect children at risk and find the best ways to prevent child abuse from ever happening. We work directly with children and families through our national and regional hubs across the UK and Channel Islands. We also give support to thousands of adults and young people in need through the NSPCC Helpline and Childline.  We work with schools up and down the country through our Speak Out Stay Safe programme, helping children to keep themselves safe. And our projects such as Together for Childhood help children who’ve experienced abuse, support parents, and work to transform the way communities come together to prevent child cruelty. 

Our local services support children and families throughout the UK and Channel Islands. We provide therapeutic services to help children move on from abuse, as well as supporting parents and families in caring for their children. We help professionals make the best decisions for children and young people, and support communities to help prevent abuse from happening in the first place 

Job purpose

Responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the NSPCC’s sex and relationships education service ‘Talk Relationships’, in line with our strategy, to time and in budget.

We are looking for a Head of Fundraising and Partnerships to join Re-engage. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will oversee the charity’s fundraising teams with responsibility for the whole range of fundraised income, as well as developing and supporting partnerships across the organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Data Services, the Data Officer will meet data needs relating to the management and delivery of supporter and engagement products. The post-holder will work alongside three other Data Officers to assess, prioritise and provide solutions including the building of data selections and journeys for direct marketing purposes and the running of supporter data imports and exports.

Experience of using CRM Dynamics, Faststats and PeopleStage and or any Donor CRM for marketing purposes will make you a person of interest to us. The Media Assistant supports delivering communications, projects, and events based on
the wider CCX organisational vision for the Media Team. It is their role to work closely with
the communications specialist and other relevant stakeholders to ensure information is

Fundraising Strategy Development

Role Overview 

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Events, the Senior Events Manager will have a significant role in the Events Team, overseeing the Parks and Corporate team and responsible for managing and delivering a wide range of outdoor events and activities within our parks and open spaces. We have a varied programme of events, often working with stakeholders, and this role involves the full event life cycle, from enquiries, site visits, assessing paperwork through to delivering a successful and safe event.

We are looking for someone who has worked in a comparable role, with previous experience managing outdoor public events, and managing all the associated health and safety paperwork.  The role requires balancing our commercial remit to achieve revenue targets, with maintaining the integrity of our beautiful parks and the needs of our local residents and stakeholders. A successful candidate will be able to manage both very experienced commercial clients’ requirements and provide the extra support less experienced community organisers need.  

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

Venue Management

• Be listed as DPS on certain venues 
• Ensuring smooth venue booking process is in place for the team
• Providing clients with venue availability, quotes, and leading site visits
• Briefing clients on T&Cs for hire and licenses and supporting clients making event applications
• Ensuring all event application paperwork per event is complete and compliant with the requirements of the Event Policy
• Overseeing health & safety procedures; liaising with security personnel and conduct thorough site inspections before, during, and after events
• Working with internal & external contractors to secure the necessary services for each event 
• Collaborating on developing new event opportunities to maximize revenue for the parks and open spaces
• Communicating effectively with internal and external colleagues to ensure all park events and activities are well-coordinated
• Maintaining clear communication with clients to address their needs and work with the site team to fulfill their requests
• Supporting, delivering and attending events / productions as required

Admin and Finance

• Line managing event coordinators and assistants
• Raising invoices and purchase orders for clients, tracking corporate bookings income and expenses, ensuring smooth cash flow, and keeping budget up to date
• Monthly reconciliation of budget to ensure targets are met
• Ensuring all supplier’s paperwork is checked and uploaded to the system
• Raising contracts and agreements, ensuring all aspects of the event are clearly outlined and protected
• Updating the booking system with all confirmed event details, ensuring all details are documented and ensuring efficient scheduling and avoiding conflicts
• Preparing and submitting TEN applications to relevant authorities for events requiring permits in public spaces or with specific restrictions
• Supporting the Head of Events with various larger more complex projects

Event Production

• Supporting the Head of Events and Production Teams with the delivery of events produced by Enable
• Assisting with the physical set up and dismantling of events, including the management of contractors and suppliers and the distribution and return of events equipment / stores and vehicles as required

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience planning and managing events, ensuring a positive client experience
• Minimum of 2 years' experience planning and managing outdoor events, and working with local authorities 
• Management of multiple clients simultaneously, providing confident and patient guidance to clients
• Proficient in a range of office software: Outlook, Excel, Teams
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients, staff and senior management
• Thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple tasks and projects efficiently against deadlines
• Proactive approach and pride yourself on going the extra mile to create 5 star customer service
• Ability to work autonomously while readily collaborating with the wider events team
• This role will require schedule flexibility – including late nights, early mornings and weekend work to deliver events
• Personal Licence holder (this can be obtained on joining but required for Premises Licence and TEN applications)

Nice to haves: 

• Drivers Licence 
• Proficiency with Priava, or other diary management software
• Experience with Xero, Sage or other accounting software
• Experience working with event applications and health & safety protocols for parks, outdoor venues, or local authorities
