About us

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and strong Administrator, preferably with HR recruitment and administrative experience; to support our newly formed people-oriented team. This is a key role within Women and Girls Network (WGN) and requires someone with sound experience of working within a multidisciplinary team within the charity sector. Chance to Shine is a national children’s charity. We change young people’s lives through cricket giving them the opportunity to play, learn and develop through the sport. Chance to Shine takes cricket to new places and uses it to ignite new passions, teach vital skills, unite diverse groups, and educate young people from Cornwall to Canterbury to County Durham. 
 

Since 2005 our Chance to Shine Schools programme has helped reverse the decline of cricket in state schools with millions of boys and girls in over 13,000 state schools playing and learning through cricket. Chance to Shine Street supports young people in under-served communities to access and benefit from cricket in a free, inclusive, fun and fast-paced tape ball environment. 
 

The Director of Strategy Implementation is an exciting Senior Management role which will help to deliver Chance to Shine’s strategic plans and further our ambitions for young people. 
 

In February 2024 we launched Limitless Futures, a four year strategic vision that outlines our ambitions to further improve wellbeing amongst young people, grow from working with 600,000 young people a year to one million by 2028, and continue to prioritise underserved communities (young people in areas of economic disadvantage and those who are inactive). It is based on extensive consultation with young people, teachers, families, delivery partners, coaches and others. It is underpinned by clearly defined goals and KPIs, and accountable to Chance to Shine’s Board of Trustees. The person in this role will work collaboratively with Senior Management colleagues and the wider team to deliver on and refine these plans. 
 

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and efficient individual with a strong track record in collaborative working and delivering on ambitious projects to join a small and dynamic team. The person in this role does not need to have an understanding of cricket but must be driven to achieve ambitious plans to support young people’s wellbeing and development.  

We operate flexible working and as such team members currently work from the office (The Oval, London) on average about 2 days per week. This post-holder will need to be flexible as an when it is required to attend meetings, mostly in London but elsewhere around the country. 

 Please note that this role is a 12-month fixed term contract, less if the person you a covering returns from maternity leave earlier.

Purpose of the role 

The Director of Strategy Implementation will be part of the Senior Management Team and will work closely with the Chief Executive. 

The person in this role will oversee the implementation of the second year of strategy plans for Limitless Futures. They will collaborate with Fundraising, Operations, Communications, Finance and Impact colleagues to ensure progress is tracked and goals are met. In particular, they will work with the Head of Fundraising to ensure the fundraising plan needed to deliver this strategy is aligned to the wider organisations plans. 
 

The Director of Strategy Implementation will also own the delivery of specific projects to support the strategy. For example, but not limited to: design and implement a volunteering programme; develop a funding plan to increase the scale of work in secondary schools; embed youth voice practices into Chance to Shine work.

Insight and evidence underpin Chance to Shine’s strategy, and as such, the Director of Strategy Implementation will line manage the Head of Impact & Evaluation and provide guidance to the Impact team. 
 

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Strategy Implementation responsibilities include: 

·       The line management of Head of Impact & Evaluation, providing broader support to the Impact Department (three people) 

·       Providing guidance and advice to the Board, Chief Executive and Senior Management team on matters relating to Strategy and Impact.

·       Working with the Senior Management Team to ensure key organisational strategic aims and objectives are achieved within respective departments.

About the role

Working within our small, dynamic staff team, this role will primarily provide support to the Executive Director in the following areas: communicating the work of the foundation to key stakeholders; lead on and maintaining relationships with trade union groups; driving forward our community grants programme, demonstrating the policy, research and campaign impact of the foundation; general strategic and managerial deputisation.

About the Role

We are looking for Two Part-Time Housing Support Case Workers who will provide support to women who have been sexually exploited, trafficked, or who have exited Prostitution within a safe accommodation in Enfield borough. 

You will be responsible for providing casework to women living within the supported accommodation. You will provide risk & and needs assessments to clients and co-develop client-led support plans to best suit their needs. You will support the service users to achieve their goals around education, training and employment in addition to providing support to improve their health and wellbeing. You will support them to maintain their license and move towards independent living. You will be responsible for house management, ensuring the property is maintained to a good standard and regularly coordinating health and safety checks and reporting issues and repairs to the Landlord. You will be responsible for collating monitoring data for your line manager on a quarterly basis.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience of supporting women who have experienced trafficking and sexual exploitation. You will be required to have an awareness of the impacts of trauma on survivors of trafficking and sexually exploitation.

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies.

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing, and welfare benefits.

Hounslow Young People is a Supported Accommodation Service for young people and young parents aged 16-25. The Service encompasses a mix of units across six sites supporting 57 vulnerable young people and 19 teen parents.

The aim of the service is to empower Young People to move towards independent living, supporting their successful transition from childhood; laying the foundations for healthy, ambitious, and safe adult lives with minimal ongoing support. Support is delivered in partnership with a number of stakeholders and partners in the community such as mental health services, substance misuses agencies, housing teams, police, and social services.

We are recruiting a Waking Night Support Worker to join our dynamic service and team. In the role of Waking Night Support Worker individuals will ensure continued support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff with particular focus on safety of vulnerable young people.

About the Role:

The Waking Night Support Worker will work in line with person-centred risk assessments, support plans, and liaise with Support Workers to provide comprehensive handover and partnership working. They will be observant of changes in behaviour and presentations ensuring appropriate actions are taken to document and report changes in support needs of young people.

Waking Night Support Worker will be able to carry out all necessary health and safety actions including light cleaning tasks and environment management. Furthermore they will actively seek out ways to work with the team and stakeholders to improve the experience of young people in the service.

The role requires individuals to work on a rota pattern of 21:30 - 07:30, including some weekend working.

About the Role:

Are you passionate about supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse and helping them rebuild their lives? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Refuge Worker to join our team. This role involves providing practical and emotional support to women in our refuge, helping them to navigate their journey from crisis to recovery.

As a Refuge Worker, you will manage a caseload, ensure the smooth running of the refuge, and prioritise the health and safety of residents. You will be responsible for the admission and resettlement of survivors, assisting them with everything from housing applications to connecting with specialised support services. Your role will also involve maintaining the refuge's operational aspects, including rent collection, room availability, and organising repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess referrals and manage room availability in line with policies.
• Introduce new residents to the refuge, explaining services, policies, and expectations.
• Assist residents with benefit applications, including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit.
• Prioritise rent and service charge collection, ensuring timely payments.
• Maintain accurate financial and administrative records, ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Organise and chair house meetings, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Work closely with local authorities, social care, and other agencies to support residents.
• Develop, review, and maintain individual support plans, safety plans, and risk assessments.
• Conduct health and safety checks, welfare checks, and report repairs as necessary.
• Attend regular staff meetings and contribute to effective communication within the team.
• Ensure all work aligns with equality and diversity policies, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Support residents in transitioning to suitable move-on accommodation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience working with vulnerable people, especially women affected by domestic and sexual violence.
• Proven ability to work in a regulated environment, managing risk and case management procedures.
• Strong understanding of domestic and sexual abuse and its impact on women and children.
• Ability to work effectively in partnership with multi-agency teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of maintaining administrative and financial records.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
