We have over 2,000 volunteers that engage with us and refer to these individuals as ‘Contributors’. The Contributor Officer will be our Volunteer Lead and will work alongside the Head of HR on the engagement, management and retention of volunteers across the organisation. As this is a new role, there is huge scope to think innovatively and apply your expertise to ensure our processes and ways of working deliver real value to the members giving up their time to work with us.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with our contributors, ensuring they feel valued and empowered to contribute their expertise. What you’ll do:

• Develop and update an appropriate and consistent recruitment and selection process for Contributor positions, ensuring it provides flexibility to cater to the differing level of roles across the organisation.
• Work with the Marketing and Digital team to build and maintain a dedicated Contributor section of the website, designed to engage our key audiences and provide easy access to engaging information and content.
• Monitor application rates for key Contributor positions, developing our approach to ensure that the opportunities reach a wide range of members.
• Actively lead the RCR’s approach to engaging with Contributors.
• Conduct regular business partnering meetings with RCR staff who have management responsibility for key Contributors, advising on how to manage, support and engage the group.
• Actively input into the development of the RCR’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other relevant systems to ensure there is a single point of truth for all Contributor related data and that important information is recorded in an easy to access way.

The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) is looking for an Examiner Engagement and Support Coordinator to ensure our examiners feel empowered, valued, and supported in their critical contributions to our exams.

The RCR is a professional membership body for Doctors who work in cancer care and medical imaging. Our examiners are clinical oncologists, clinical radiologists and other specialists, who work voluntarily as contributors developing exam questions, delivering assessments to candidates and shaping the future of FRCR exams. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that the clinical expertise needed to run the RCR’s exams is available via both UK and global examiners.

The postholder will have strong people skills with the ability to build good relationships, excellent communication and organisational skills will be key to your success. The post holder will be the first point of contact for potential new, and existing, examiners and will work closely with exam chairs and across all exam boards and committees, ensuring that examiners have the tools they need to deliver as an examiner alongside their clinical commitments, including alleviating any pain points. Examiner recruitment and coordinating induction and training - plus the set-up of meetings, events and panels - will form part of the workload.

As our Examiner Engagement and Support Coordinator you will deliver real value to those doctors who give up their valuable time to work with us. 

What you’ll do:

• Write and update engaging examiner recruitment materials such as terms of reference, job descriptions, scoring criteria and advertising communication.
• Actively promote examiner recruitment to UK and global audiences, including drafting text and ensuring that promotional recruitment materials are relevant and engaging.
• Build and develop mechanisms to communicate with examiners, ensuring they feel included in the work of both the exams team and the wider college.
• Support examiners with travel and accommodation bookings where necessary, in collaboration with the RCR’s appointed travel agent and the RCR’s Facilities function.
• Support committees by managing the logistical support for meetings and preparing quality agendas.

What you’ll need:

• Experience in providing administrative support and managing administrative processes, systems and procedures.
• Experience in financial administration, including the compiling of financial spreadsheets and monitoring budgets.
• Experience of committee procedures and processes, including preparing agendas and recording accurate actions.
• Experience using and maintaining a database or equivalent to store and retrieve information so that information is kept up to date and available
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

We know that peer support can have a life changing impact and our Mentoring Team are the ones who can facilitate this through matching them with a suitable mentor who will be able to support them over a series of phone calls to reach their goals. The Mentoring Team Leader leads the team through providing excellent line management and driving the delivery of the team’s business plans to empower the team to ultimately support more people affected by spinal cord injury

In addition to leading the team, a Mentoring Team Lead will assist in creating mentoring relationships and support mentors and mentees as appropriate, assess mentee suitability and provide support in the process of identifying, recruiting and training new mentors.

A Mentoring Team Lead will be motivated to achieve the aims, targets and milestones that have been set in terms of making quality matches and will be comfortable and efficient with data management and GDPR compliance.

Recovery Practitioner - Harrow

We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Practitioner to join one of the largest charities in the country on an initial temporary basis.

This is a rolling contract, where you would be required onsite from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

Assisting clients when they first join the programme and identify the best course of action for their recovery

Minimising the harm that drugs and alcohol do to clients and the larger community

Facilitate group sessions to provide service users with structured information at different phases of their recovery

As the Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will support in the development and delivery of a seven-figure income target from new and existing trusts, foundations and statutory founders. Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have a successful track record of meeting income targets. You will have good knowledge of budgeting and financial control and an interest in researching and preparing imaginative funding packages. You will have previous experience in researching potential Trust and Foundations to approach as well directly applying for funds and writing proposals. Experience of planning, analysis and understanding monitoring and evaluation is also essential for this role. You will be well organised, self-motivated and  comfortable using Microsoft packages and be familiar with the use of databases and spreadsheets. Experience with databases such as Donorfy would be a bonus however it is not essential for the role. Your approach to work will be collegiate and you will work well within a team environment as well as taking your own initiative. This is a great opportunity to further develop your fundraising skills in a supportive environment.

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is an independent not-for-profit organisation and the UK’s authority on age ratings for films and digital content. Our mission is to empower audiences, especially parents, to make informed decisions about what their families watch. We are at the forefront of regulatory policy, advocating for the protection of children in an evolving digital landscape.

The BBFC is at an exciting time in its journey, working in partnership with regulatory bodies around the world to establish a new organisation that uses the power of AI to respond to the ever-changing need to provide locally recognisable ratings on media and digital content globally. The BBFC is also developing a bespoke AI tool to identify and tag content issues, with the potential to bring large-scale efficiencies to the classification process domestically and globally. Through a new trading subsidiary, the BBFC will deliver the culmination of over seven years’ work, developing new technologies to improve how we view content and represents a major opportunity to reshape content classification, making it more cost-effective, faster and globally scalable. The Chief Financial Officer will play a pivotal role in the roll-out and development of our new ventures.

The Role

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for providing strategic leadership across finance and the broader strategic growth of the BBFC. Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer and as part of the ELT, your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Lead the delivery of all required financial resources and advice to enable the highest quality services to internal and external stakeholders
• Lead and engage in strategic discussion and decision-making as member of the Executive Leadership Team and other governance committees
• Work with internal and external stakeholders in the roll-out of the BBFC’s new AI tool and commercial trading subsidiary
• Provide management information and analysis of the BBFC’s actual and forecast financial performance, providing a business partnering service to colleagues; producing concise and meaningful commentary on performance against agreed targets and comprehensive risk analysis
• Manage the BBFC finance team (2 staff), supporting in mentorship, training and skills development
• Build and contribute to external networks and commercial partnerships, building on BBFC’s reputation, and ensure that BBFC learns from and builds on best practice
• Accountability for the organisation’s financial accounts and the other statutory financial information
• Act as the main point of contact for external Auditors, HMRC, Banks, Investment Managers, Suppliers and any other appropriate body to ensure the BBFC’s financial and commercial interests are protected
• Ensure compliance with current UK legislation, including the Companies Act, HMRC regulations, and any other relevant legislation. Maintain a register of policies

About You

• You will be an experienced Finance Director, Chief Financial Officer or equivalent.
• You will be a qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) or qualified by experience with extensive relevant experience in a similar role
• You will have experience in operating at executive leadership level, including working closely with C-Suite level individuals and Board members to oversee financial strategy for an organisation
• You will be proactive in identifying solutions and be able to make decisive values-based decisions
• Experience of working with investors and raising funds desirable
