Grandmentors
Grandmentors is an innovative volunteering project where older volunteers (aged 50+) use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor vulnerable young people leaving the care system. These young people often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – ultimately giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives.
Volunteers meet with a young person regularly to boost their confidence and work towards goals, which are unique to each young person
Role Purpose
To develop and deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project across London, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The post holder will work closely with the Virtual College and Leaving Care teams within London Borough Councils and local volunteers to ensure that we improve and empower the lives of care leavers (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.
Key Duties Responsibilities
· To effectively deliver the service to ensure the project meets its agreed targets and millstones.
· role; this will involve processing volunteer expenses, DBS checks and maintaining databases.
· To ensure regular communication between project staff and volunteers is maintained and that regular supervision for volunteers is provided.
· To work with your line manager to ensure project expenditure is in line with the budget.
· To maintain accurate administration, for all aspects of the project.
· To maintain accurate records on all aspects of the project and submit data onto a secure database.
· To manage and maintain effective monitoring and evaluation records to capture impact and outcomes and ensure contractual compliance.
· To implement and maintain appropriate risk assessment management processes.
· To prepare regular reports including quarterly progress updates, impact reports and end of year reports for both internal and external purposes.
· To develop relevant information to promote and raise the profile of Volunteering Matters locally.
· To promote and adhere to Volunteering Matters Equality and Diversity Policy and all other Volunteering Matters policies which relate to the work of Grandmentors.

Responsibilities
Key Activities:
- Support the delivery of the internal communications and engagement strategy
- Coordinate the day-to-day requirements of the organisation's SharePoint:-
- Content – publish content that aligns with publishing standards
- Governance – manage the approval, review, and retention process to ensure information is user-centred, clear, and up to date
- Web design – support standards of UI/UX, accessibility and search optimisation
- Technical support – develop and deliver SharePoint solutions by working with colleagues in the IT department and testing with users

About You:

We have a vacancy for a Flourish (Refugee and Asylum Seekers) Community Outreach Worker to join our team, supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health as a primary need, through providing advice, information and holistic support.
About the Service
‘Flourish’ is a highly flexible and responsive outreach service developed to meet the needs of refugees and asylum seekers in Hertfordshire. The aim of the service will be to support refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health support as a primary need.
Purpose of Post
- To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
- Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
- To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
- To work in a trauma informed way including awareness of the 6 principles of trauma informed practice, putting the clients emotional and practical needs at the forefront of this work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with all key delivery partners across the system to ensure the service is responsive, inclusive and easy to access.
- To take allocated referrals from any agencies including the Community Navigators, Borough and District Councils, Herts Help, Housing Providers, Herts Welcomes Refugees, the Refugee Council and self-referrals including walk in contacts at any of the Mind wellbeing centres across the county.
- Hold a caseload of clients, supporting for approx. 10 weeks
- To create a safe space for the individual to be able to explore their feelings and improve their understanding around their mental health.
- To complete a holistic needs assessment.
- Ensure all person centred risk assessments and support plans are completed.
- Proactively recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies.
- Support clients to build their emotional resilience, promoting self-management through building an understanding of their own triggers/coping strategies.
- To provide safeguarding intervention support. This will include responding to problems, which pose an immediate risk.
- To work alongside translators when required to provide a robust package of support for clients.
- To accompany clients to initial visits and appointments as necessary in order to ensure the sustained use of existing support services in the Borough.
- To provide advocacy services to clients experiencing mental ill health.
- To assist clients to access appropriate mental health services, housing/tenancy services and other services according to assessed needs.
- To establish effective pathways across a variety of agencies to maximise and provide effective partnership working, working with other third sector and VCSE organisations to provide signposting and continuity of care.

Job role
We are looking for a creative and passionate communicator who can help us tell the story of Fight for Peace, and amplify the voices of young people and our brand across a variety of media and formats. This role is vital to Fight for Peace’s work in engaging young people and supporters, raising awareness of the talent and potential of young people, and keeping the team of staff informed of what’s happening across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be proactive and creative, have excellent interpersonal and storytelling skills, proven experience in content production, and a passion for supporting young people to thrive.
While they will be based at our Academy in east London, they will also have the chance to work on projects highlighting Fight for Peace’s work around the UK, in Jamaica and in Brazil.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Content and Storytelling
● Develop social media content capable of engaging Fight for Peace audiences and
raising awareness of the organisation’s work and mission, working alongside
colleagues and young people.
● Research, write and publish regular website articles aimed at telling the story of
Fight for Peace’s work and approach.
● Work with local and national media to amplify Fight for Peace messaging and
reach wider audiences.
● Work with young people and the Creative Lead, supporting the production of films
and other creative content.
● Manage social media channels and website, monitoring analytics to inform digital
strategy and making updates where required.
Brand
● Promote and elevate Fight for Peace brand by managing design projects, creating
communications assets, and shaping messaging and collateral (working with internal
team and external designers).
● Monitor the use of brand internally and externally to ensure Fight for Peace, our
community and young people are represented appropriately in messaging and visual
assets. Support training and guidance of colleagues in use of brand where necessary.
Internal Communications
● Work with colleagues and utilise a range of tools and techniques to ensure that the
Fight for Peace team of staff and young people are informed of what’s happening at
the organisation, as well as key initiatives, changes, messaging and news.
Management of self
● Develop knowledge, personal skills, time management, being an advocate
and representative of the organisation.

● Provide line manager with updates on progress of work as well as challenges faced.

Key responsibilities as our Safety Officer:
- Conducting health and safety audits in line with the Scouts’ Safety Quality Framework, identifying areas of non-compliance and taking appropriate action to rectify these
- Providing members with specialist technical advice and support in the area of safety, outdoor activities and adventure
- Assisting the National Safety Manager in developing the Scouts’ safety rules, policies and guidance and support in line with industry and external best practice
- Researching, planning and preparing proposals for changes to rules, policies and guidance relating to safety and outdoor and adventure, ensuring they are in line with current Government guidance and legislation
- Using management information to inform best practice
- Working with local volunteer line managers to ensure the delivery of safe scouting to members, through compliance, quality assurance, and data insights
- Ensuring a high standard of resource materials, for members and delivering training
- Ensuring responsive and genuine engagement with internal and external stakeholders which will provide both challenge and support
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by the National Safety Manager and/or other Safe Scouting Management Team, commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the job

Centre Administrator
9am-2pm, 5 days a week, term time only.
We are looking for a Centre Administrator to support both the administration and running of all activities at the Centre and the maintenance of facilities for all users of the building.
Reporting to our Centre Manager, our Centre Administrator will:
- Support the administration of courses, conferences and other events at the Centre.
- Be the first point of contact for all visitors, telephone calls and general email enquiries.
- Offer first line support for delegate and member queries.
- Work with the Centre Manager to ensure the smooth running of the building for visitors and staff.
- Support the Centre Manager to host courses and events including set-up of rooms, materials, catering, greeting and registering course participants and responding to the attendees’ needs.
- Maintain and manage the centre diary ensuring all facilities and equipment are available as required.
- Be a liaison for all room hire enquiries, ensuring all bookings are recorded and invoiced, and resources provided as requested
- Maintain the signing in system, setting up course and event attendee lists
- Raise purchase orders for office related spending.
- Support the wider CLPE team with ad hoc administrative tasks.
- On request - arrange travel and accommodation for any staff working away from the office.
- Usual hours are within 9am to 2pm but the post requires occasional out-of-office hours and flexible working in order to fulfil event commitments

United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We are currently looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join one of our busy residential care services in Welwyn. We currently provide support to eight individuals who have a range of high complex needs and disabilities but are united by a love of life. Our mission is to help those individuals make life happen, and our Support Workers are a key part of that aim.
As a Support Worker you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with daily chores such as cooking and cleaning
- Taking individuals on leisure activities
- Accompanying on holidays
- Helping the people we support access the community

- As part of your role, you will be using a digital app called Nourish, where all care and support plans of the people we support are held. Experience of using a digital or mobile app would be desirable however full training will be given

You should have the ability to use your initiative to ensure that the individuals we support are able to do the things they love where possible. Previous experience working with Learning Disabilities is highly desirable.
