About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the strategic and operational delivery of the FFLM’s aims and objectives. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees and working closely with the President and senior officers, the CEO will play a pivotal role in driving the organisation forward, ensuring its long-term sustainability and impact.
The CEO will:
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for the FFLM, including 3–5-year plans to enhance our reputation and influence.
- Strengthen internal and external relationships with stakeholders, including professional bodies, government agencies, and policymakers.
- Oversee the organisation’s financial management, ensuring sound budgeting and sustainable income streams.
- Represent the FFLM publicly, managing media relations and acting as an ambassador for the organisation.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
As an eCommerce Assistant, you will play a vital role in our dynamic retail team, working closely with the eCommerce Manager to manage daily operations and support income growth. This will be achieved through the sale of a wide variety of donations from our high street shops on our online platforms, primarily eBay and other marketplaces.
Your core responsibilities will include processing high-quality stock, managing listings, providing excellent customer service, dispatching orders, and supporting a team of volunteers to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You will also collaborate with Shop Managers to communicate stock requirements and maintain a steady flow of donations. In addition, this role involves supporting the organisation and participation in events to drive sales and raise awareness, alongside collaborating with auction houses, where appropriate, to secure the best price for high-value items.

Role Responsibilities:
· Support daily operations of online stores, focusing on efficiency, quality assurance, and achieving listing and sales targets.

Chapter One is an education charity that wants a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. We close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3250 children in 2024-25.
Chapter One’s unique, Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling 5 to 7 year olds with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. Volunteers use a bespoke internet platform and a voice connection to link – from their workplace or home – to a dedicated classroom laptop for 30 minutes a week, during the school day, over an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to contribute to the work of our fast-growing charity. You will work as part of the Live Chat Team to provide immediate, real-time support to volunteers through our live chat system. This role ensures that volunteers have the assistance they need immediately; our analysts pride themselves in resolving technical issues quickly so volunteers can focus on their reading sessions with pupils. You will be the first point of contact for volunteers in need of assistance, so excellent customer service skills and a genuine interest in helping others is essential.
This split-day part time role is 15 hours a week, Monday - Friday for 39 weeks per year, as this is a term-time role. The working pattern will be three hours per day, 5 days a week, for 39 weeks of the year. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of "On track for inclusive train travel", a research, scoping and piloting project. This partnership project, funded by Motability Foundation and delivered alongside Community Rail Network (CRN), aims to make rail travel more accessible and inclusive for disabled people, including those with sight loss.
You'll be working to co-create an effective, tested, adaptable model for training, learning & culture change that can be deployed across the railways. This will ensure blind or partially sighted and disabled people always feel confident and supported when using rail.
You will act as the overall project manager of this complex and exciting project, including working closely with CRN and two of their locally-focused member organisations, Community Rail Lancashire and Gloucestershire Community Rail Partnership. While RNIB is the lead partner in reporting terms, this project represents a substantive partnership of the four organisations coming together to form one cross organisational team to deliver on the brief.
This is a fixed term contract of 2 years, and will be suitable for homeworking, or hybrid working at any of our RNIB offices across the UK.

As Grants Officer, you will support the Grants Programme Managers to deliver and develop grant-making programmes.
Key responsibilities include assisting in delivering and developing funding programmes that tackle disadvantage and improve opportunities for people facing disadvantage. Working closely with the Grants Programme Managers you will assist with shortlisting, assessment and processing of grant applications, developing relationships with successful grantees and assisting with monitoring and learning from funded work. The main purpose of the Refuge Support Worker role is to support women and children escaping domestic abuse by providing safe accommodation and support to rebuild their lives through the provision of one to one support, helping them to make informed choices while ensuring they understand their rights.
You must have at least one year’s experience of working with Asian women in a refuge or other formal setting. An understanding of the intersectional complexities and dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on women from South Asian communities is essential.
You will have demonstrable experience of providing advice and support to Asian women who have experienced domestic abuse, harmful practices and all forms of VAWG (violence against women and girls). You will be experienced at completing risk assessments and support planning. You will have a working knowledge of welfare benefits and housing legislation. An understanding of the issues faced by migrant women with no recourse to public funds is desirable.
It is essential that you are able to speak fluently in at least one South Asian language (Urdu / Punjabi preferred).
