The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a specialist UK charity which provides expert care and support survivors of torture, trafficking and other extreme human cruelty. We work with hundreds of clients every year from all over the world.

The expertise of the Foundation is renowned in the field. Through the Model of Integrated Care, HBF offers survivors access to an individually tailored programme of specialist therapy, medical advisory services, legal protection including providing expert medico-legal documentation, welfare and housing support, and creative and skills activities within an integration programme. The Role

This is an opportunity to join HBF’s specialist multi-disciplinary team, working alongside experts in asylum and immigration law, and trauma-informed ways of working. The purpose of this role is to lead on HBF’s legal and policy work as it relates to our survivor of trafficking clients alongside our Director of Policy. The Counter Trafficking Legal and Policy Specialist will split their work between HBF’s legal and policy teams – spending three days on legal work and two days on policy work, while also liaising with the multi-disciplinary team to manage client needs and ensure expert collaborative working.

About the role

This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include:​

• To manage a multi-disciplinary team, including paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists.
• To ensure that Freedom from Torture's clinical model continues to be fully rolled out, with particular emphasis on survivor empowerment and evidence-based practice for addressing PTSD and other mental health impacts of torture.

About you

This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. It is a key requirement that you must have knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies. You must also have sound financial awareness and experience of balancing the provision of quality care against budgetary parameters.

To be considered for this role you must be a Psychologist registered with HCPC and have qualified with a doctorate or equivalent in either clinical or counselling psychology. You must have professional experience of working with clients with complex PTSD and have post-qualification experience of using evidence-based trauma focused therapy models. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum, both in terms of pre-flight experience and the experience of living in exile. You must have previous management and supervision experience and be able to provide demonstrable examples of how you have successfully led and influenced clinical teams within community or health care settings.

The Communications Team exists to ensure LICC’s vision and offering are clearly communicated both to those who already follow us and to new strategic audiences. This is a part-time (two days per week), fixed-term, maternity cover role, running from September 2024 to August 2025. The Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) Programme is part of this nationally funded programme and aims to train a workforce of new practitioners that offer help for common difficulties in children and young people, in particular CBT-informed evidence-based guided self-help for low to moderate intensity anxiety, low mood and behaviour problems, within a variety of community settings.

The course consists of approximately 64 teaching days spread over the year. The programme is delivered through a mix of online and in-person teaching, where campus-based learning will usually take place at the Anna Freud (London).

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate with experience in child and adolescent mental health, alongside experience of providing clinical supervision or facilitating reflective spaces to support clinical skill developments. The post-holder must have knowledge and experience of implementing CBT-informed interventions for low to moderate intensity anxiety, low mood and behaviour problems and experience in small group facilitation.

The Practice Tutor will be expected to facilitate the delivery of practice tutor groups, contribute to teaching sessions, and undertake marking, personal tutoring and make other similar contributions to support the delivery of the programme.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity to be part of a LGBTQI+ support service.The successful candidate will provide effective person-centred support to LGBTQ people living in Causeway’s specialist LGBTQ supported housing.Support clients to achieve tangible progress in areas such as tenancy management, independent living skills and training/education.Support LGBTQ clients to develop greater self-esteem and self-confidence. Equip clients for independent living and move-on to more independent accommodation.Develop support plans with individual clients that reflect their ambitions and aspirations with clear actions for achieving these.Contribute to risk assessment and safeguarding plans Ensure clients settle into their accommodation and become familiar with the local area. Work closely with the Housing Team to ensure residents are complying with the terms of their occupancy agreements. Contribute to client involvement within the LGBTQ supported housing service. Be aware of trauma informed working, particularly with regard to trauma experienced by LGBTQ people. Grandmentors

Grandmentors is an innovative volunteering project where older volunteers (aged 50+) use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor vulnerable young people leaving the care system. These young people often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – ultimately giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives.

Volunteers meet with a young person regularly to boost their confidence and work towards goals, which are unique to each young person

Role Purpose

To develop and deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project across London, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The post holder will work closely with the Virtual College and Leaving Care teams within London Borough Councils and local volunteers to ensure that we improve and empower the lives of care leavers (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.

Key Duties Responsibilities

· To effectively deliver the service to ensure the project meets its agreed targets and millstones.

· To ensure regular communication between project staff and volunteers is maintained and that regular supervision for volunteers is provided.

· To work with your line manager to ensure project expenditure is in line with the budget.

· To maintain accurate records on all aspects of the project and submit data onto a secure database.

· To manage and maintain effective monitoring and evaluation records to capture impact and outcomes and ensure contractual compliance.

· To prepare regular reports including quarterly progress updates, impact reports and end of year reports for both internal and external purposes.
