Key Responsibilities
- Designing and strengthening financial systems, procedures and controls on grant management and compliance, regularly reviewing and updating these; and training staff as required
- Monitoring programmatic activity and spend, and maintaining the grants management tracker tool.
- Preparing financial information for internal reporting, and assisting in the preparation of the programmes finance elements on statutory financial statements
- Overseeing the financial administration of programmes grants. This includes reviewing concept notes and proposals, preparing donor and sub-grant agreements, setting up grant codes, and preparing donor reports.
- Supporting on budget proposal development and refinement for new grant proposals; and ensuring that donor and the foundation rules on accounting, procurement and project implementation are adhered to.
- Supporting in reviewing and approving due diligence assessments on potential partners, and carrying out monitoring visits and audits of projects.
- Supporting in the preparation of and implementing the recommendations of donor grant audits.
- Undertake overseas travel (around 2-3 trips a year)
Person Specification
- Accountant with at least 3 years of experience in programmes financial accounting & reporting; developing and managing administrative systems; and budgeting, forecasting and cashflow monitoring.
- Experience of institutional grant budget proposal development, compliance, monitoring and reporting; this includes experience in managing FCDO, EU, ECHO, German government, Swedish government, and USAID funding.
- Excellent numeracy & financial analysis skills
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of MSOffice, especially MSExcel
- Excellent command of the English language, both in a written and oral capacity.
- Strong business partnering skills, including experience of working with field staff in an INGO setting.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines.

What are we looking for? For this role, we are seeking someone:
· To have oversight, with the Vicar, for the direction of music for liturgy at St John’s s and to work with the clergy, organist, PCC and congregation to continue to develop a rich diversity of styles of music.
· To build the choir, continuing to develop the repertoire, train the singers and recruit and integrate new members.
· To ensure all principal Sunday services, Occasional Offices (Weddings and Funerals) and Festivals are properly staffed and that the Director, organist or a deputy is available to play at all principal services.
· To work with the clergy team to produce lists of hymns, songs, anthems etc. appropriate to each service.
· To be responsible for a set music budget, agreed with the Treasurer each November for presentation to the PCC, and for all music purchases and score hires.
· To work collaboratively with the clergy, choir, organist and congregation in developing the ministry of the church through music.
· To ensure that the Parish Safeguarding Policy for Children and Vulnerable Adults is properly implemented within the choir and all areas under the Director of Music’s responsibility.

Line Manager: The churchwardens of St John’s Waterloo
Hours: 4.5 hours per week. Core hours are Sundays between 10 and 1.30, divided between the 10.30 service and rehearsal after church, with an additional hour/week for preparation time. Additional hours may be required for principal services, especially at Christmas and Easter.
Pay: £37,182 per annum pro rata = £4,780 pa plus contributory pension scheme (RSCM recommended). There will be a three month probationary period.
Holiday entitlement: 5 weeks pro rata including no more than five Sundays outside of August (when the choir is on leave)

About the role

Starting with drafting responses to complainants whose complaints are not being taken forward, the successful candidate will progress to investigating complaints, drafting rulings for external publication, and mediating between complainants and publications.
You will also be trained to staff, on a rota basis, IPSO’s pre-publication and privacy notice services, which provide 24-hour confidential advice to editors and journalists on matters relating to the Editors’ Code and protect members of the public and public figures from potential intrusion and unwanted press attention.

Skills and experience
Efficient, effective and empathetic, the right candidate will have a strong analytical ability that they can convey both verbally and in writing. You will have excellent writing skills, and experience of drafting important documents to a high level. You will also have experience of dealing sensitively and professionally with people from a range of backgrounds. Complaints Officers are trusted with a high level of autonomy in their work – so demonstrable time management and organisational skills are required.
A personal interest in current affairs and the news industry is a must, but there is no need for a degree or qualification in this area.

There is a competitive starting salary of £40k, plus another £2k after 24 months of service. Title: ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT - FTC 12 MONTHS – LONDON OFFICE
A. Role:
To provide administrative support to the Finance Partner on a full-time basis.

B1. Duties and Responsibilities: Accounts
You will be supporting the Finance Partner and Assistant Management Accountant with the day-to-day accounts matters. We use a computerised Practice Management software called SOS. Training will be given on using this and all other systems so previous experience is not essential. You will be given accounts work gradually and fully trained on each area of work before moving onto the next level once you are confident and able. Tasks initially allocated to you will include those listed below:
- Submitting interim cost/disbursement claims to the Legal Aid Agency - This will be your main priority
- Maintaining the purchase ledger system – receiving supplier’s invoices, checking, and entering onto our system then paying suppliers as required
- ·Paying costs draftsmen fees each month
- ·Paying all client related disbursements and posting to SOS
- ·Processing staff expenses
- Weekly reconciliations of the firm’s bank accounts
- Weekly reconciliations of the firms PBA account
- ·Topping up and reconciling the firms cash cards
- Monthly reconciliations of the partners credit cards
- Investigating and clearing residual balances

- Take responsibility for the operational management of SHMF ensuring that the staff and financial resources are deployed effectively in line with budgets and funding requirements
- Report to and support the leadership team in ensuring the effective strategic management, development and future funding

- Overseeing certain administrative elements of board meetings including but not limited to collating and disseminating papers, producing relevant reports and papers, taking minutes, action tracking
- Supporting the creation of annual funder reports
- Supervising, coaching, mentoring or line management as required, depending on the needs of SHM

The role
As Corporate Partnerships Executive you will be responsible for raising the profile of the Charity in Shropshire and Herefordshire and building relationships with Corporate companies across the counties.
You will be responsible for developing a Corporate pipeline as well as nurturing existing long lasting corporate relationships. You will be working with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to deliver the fundraising strategy and grow income too.
About You
As a Corporate Partnership Executive we would love you to have experience of the following;
- Experience of building and maintaining successful relationships with customers, clients and/or supporters
- Sales or income generation experience
- Experience of coordinating tasks, people, and activities
- Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams and with a range of stakeholders
- Experience of general office administration
- Experience of communicating with a wide range of audiences
- Experience of working unsupervised with the ability to drive and generate own workload.
- Public speaking
- Understanding of corporate CSR and ESG polices will be beneficial
Although some fundraising experience would be desirable, this really could be the role for you if you are wanting to move into a career within the third sector.
This role is home based within Shropshire or Herefordshire. There will be some travel across the regions and to the Head Office for meetings. The postholder will be responsible for managing a caseload of survivors, providing holistic support to assess and increase their safety, connect them with local domestic abuse support services where appropriate. The postholder will advise on securing online accounts and devices, ensure survivors have access to safe bank accounts, advocate with banks and creditors to tackle fraud and coerced debt, and empower survivors to regain control of their finances. We are looking for someone with experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, who is passionate about increasing survivor safety, and reaching the best outcomes for everyone they support.
