Responsibilities of our Senior Legacy Marketing Officer:

• The Senior Legacy Marketing Officer is responsible for delivering Cats Protection’s marketing and stewardship programmes for Gifts in Wills and Free Wills.
• This role will focus on developing annual plans, managing budgets and delivering activity across multiple communication channels (both acquisition and retention), in order to grow the active legacy file and increase future legacy income in line with Cats Protection’s income generation strategy and targets.

About the Legacies & In Memory team:

• Legacy Marketing forms a key part of the Legacy, Cat Guardians and In Memory team, which sits within our Marketing and Income Generation directorate. Legacy and In Memory fundraising is our largest income stream and accounts for around half of the income we receive every year.

• Significant experience in a legacy fundraising and/or direct marketing role
• Management of income and expenditure budgets

RESPONSIBILITIES

We expect to recruit from our members and from the community of those who stammer or those who support people who stammer (speech & language therapists, family and friends).

• Recruit and induct new volunteers to support our services, working with the Services Director and the Training & Outreach Lead. 
• Work with the service managers to review training and update training modules.
• Ensure there is appropriate training, support, supervision and acknowledgement for volunteers and ensure processes comply with the charity’s values
• Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
• Support and recruit volunteer community leaders for our groups and networks; work with them to aim for consistent quality across the groups experience and develop an online training programme for leaders.  Longer term, put a funding case together to support a training weekend for community leaders.
• Keep records on which community groups are active and identify areas of need and feedback mechanisms.
• Work with Content & Communications Lead to produce regular mailings and volunteer recruitment campaigns.
• Keep up to date with legislation, best practice and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes.
• Maintain the database of volunteers and ensure all volunteers are registered members.
• Manage budgets and resources, including the reimbursement of volunteer expenses.

This is a hybrid role, and all staff are expected to attend team meetings, held in London, every 6-8 weeks.

We are looking for a determined, skilled, proactive trusts fundraiser to join our small team in this newly created role to help stop children dying suddenly and without explanation.

Tragically, 1-2 seemingly healthy children die in the UK every fortnight, often going to sleep and never waking up. This incidence is unchanging. SUDC UK was founded in 2017 to raise awareness of Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC), encourage and fund scientific research and offer support and advice to affected families.  We believe SUDC research should receive more attention and scientific investment and are inspired by efforts to impact SIDS (cot death), where there has been an 80% reduction in infant deaths in the past 30 years. We can do so much more for SUDC children and their families.

SUDC UK has a small, warm, passionate and impactful team who currently support families facing the sudden death of a child between 1-18 years, with no clear explanation for their child’s death. 

Currently, the charity’s co-founder and CEO delivers services in collaboration with our affiliate organisation, the SUDC Foundation (based in the U.S). This new role will evolve SUDC UK’s direct support services by delivering an expanded, evidence-based SUDC UK pathway of exceptional care for registered families. 

The role will include providing 1-1 supportive zoom calls for information and guidance, case advocacy requiring collaboration and relationship building with professionals like Coroner’s officers and paediatricians, signposting, referrals and collaboration with other organisations, a family peer connection program, family events, service review and continuous improvement. 

This is a key role within the Engagement Directorate at Blind Veterans UK as we are working through a new strategy which ensures we become data and insight led and put our audiences at the centre of all our communication. This presents an excellent opportunity for you to help revolutionise how Blind Veterans UK conducts data selections and to play a key role in producing actionable insights as we seek to increase the sophistication of our marketing activity and deliver an excellent supporter experience.

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of complex database extracts from Raiser’s Edge using FastStats, ensuring all data selections are delivered to a high standard for communications to Blind Veteran UK supporters. This includes ensuring data selections are scheduled, developed, tested and checked, and delivered in accordance with the agreed brief and deadlines. The critical element to this role is developing a campaign planning process that embeds a test and learn culture and drives innovation and improvement in our communications.

You will work with the Insight Manager and wider Engagement (fundraising and Comms & Marketing) Team to implement journeys and automations to improve second gift rates and drive sustainable income.

As well as leading on data selections, you will manage the insight planning and request project boards, working with the Insight Manager to respond to both ad-hoc insight requests and longer term insight projects.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role - what you'll be doing:

• Lead on data selections. Responsible for ensuring all data selections are produced in an accurate, consistent and timely fashion, in accordance with agreed data selection briefs and deadlines.
• Manage the scheduling of delivering data selections to ensure there is clarity on what data selections are upcoming, to manage any potential clashes and to plan and prioritise the workload.
• Develop an excellent process and structure for delivering data selections that guarantees their consistency and accuracy.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure data selection briefs are completed correctly, definitions are clarified, and the final selection meets the criteria outlined in the brief.
• Work with the Insight Manager to identify insight-driven recommendations for campaign planning, and to ensure testing within data selections is valid and robust.
• Attend end of campaign meetings, and lead on the presentation of results and test outcomes and feedback on process improvements.
• Work with the Insight Manager to drive forward innovations in data selections, such as using propensity models to identify the right supporters to communicate with.
• Continually seek to improve the data selection process with the aim of automating and streamlining to improve the accuracy of selections.
• Lead on the implementation of a campaign planning process focussed on driving improvement in selection results through data-informed decision-making.
• Play a leading role in the planning of the calendar to manage communication activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide telephone and online counselling to clients affected by sight loss, adhering to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework.
• Manage and support Sight Loss Team Counsellors, including recruitment and line management.
• Offer accurate and accessible information to clients about available services, empowering them to make informed decisions.
• Develop and improve the range and quality of information regarding emotional support and counselling services.

• Demonstrable experience of working with external agencies to manage website and CRM development
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; able to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
• Strong project management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver projects on time and within tight budgets
• A good understanding of how digital infrastructure can support the monitoring and evaluation of programmes through data collection and analysis
• Experience of interrogating data to generate actionable insights and drive decision making

Job purpose

To support and deliver effective communications, including marketing and digital engagement activities, which raise awareness of Dementia Carers Count and foster connections with our community of carers, campaigners and donors. Your work will help us reach and support more carers, raise funds and campaign for changes which will ensure that no dementia carer feels isolated, invisible or alone. 

Key responsibilities  

•Understand our cause, linked issues, and how these are publicly perceived 

•Horizon scan to spot social and news trends as well as potential influencer targets 

•Manage our social platforms, keeping abreast of media and public zeitgeist about our cause and related issues. You will design and deliver paid advertising campaigns and monitor, respond, share, engage, comment on posts, according to our guidelines and with responsibility for reputation management 

•Share audience insights with colleagues to ensure effective stewardship of all our defined audiences 

•Support development of media relationships. You will curate press and media lists and respond to media queries, with shared out of hours responsibility.

•Draft statements and press releases and pitch ideas for articles and features, developing copy as needed and tracking coverage 

•Support user-led story telling as part of content creation, including interviewing carers about their experiences and identifying opportunities to share carers’ voices in our materials 

•Draft website copy and develop assets for digital use and printed materials which communicate our key messages and brand and which support specific campaigns 

•Review and monitor evaluation and reporting metrics to provide regular and campaign-based management information relating to the success of digital and media activity 

•Support effective cross-organisational internal communication 

•Adhere to all relevant legislative and regulatory obligations relating to marketing, digital and communications

About the role

You’ll empower your clients to take actions for themselves or will advocate on their behalf for better service, support and outcomes, so they can live their life with Parkinson's in the way they choose.

You’ll deliver tailored information and support through a range of channels including telephone, video and email and, where appropriate, home visits and in community settings.

You’ll be responsible for building excellent relationships with healthcare professionals and other relevant agencies, as well as our network of volunteers and groups.

What you'll do:

• Provide professional person centred, in depth support to clients by a range of means, ensuring the most efficient and effective use of resources.

• Provide support on a variety of health and social care issues, including appropriate emotional, employment and welfare benefits support and advocating with and on behalf of clients. 

• Work flexibly across the service responding to enquiries through a range of channels.

• Work closely with clinicians, specialist nurses and other professional colleagues to raise the profile of the service, increase depth of support and achieve improved outcomes for people with Parkinson’s.

What you'll bring: 

• Experience of managing and delivering individual case work, including advocating for clients and supporting people to navigate  the health and social care system 

• Experience and understanding of safeguarding and your role in keeping clients safe and  implementing organisational policies and procedure

• Ability to be calm and use emotional intelligence in challenging casework

• Demonstrable digital competence, with experience of effective use of a range of tools including online case management systems

• The ability to build effective working relationships with others including working within multi disciplinary teams internally and externally

• Provide occasional cover on Saturdays and/or Bank holidays

• Provide their own broadband service with a minimum download speed of 2Mb
