The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children every step of the way.
This role is within our Youth Impact Directorate. It will support the team in a range of activities, but predominantly in overseeing external and internal enquiries into the team relating to safeguarding and adults accessing records who have previously been adopted through or historically in the care of The Children's Society.
We are seeking an organised person to join our dynamic, ambitious team.
A key part of this role will be your ability to:
-Provide high-quality business administration across the activities of the Safeguarding and Quality Practice team
-Oversee, process, and record all external enquiries by adopted or care adults to access their records
-Process and link with the Safeguarding and Quality Practice Advisors on safeguarding enquiries managed through a duty inbox
-Support the team in creating and delivering audit materials for quality assurance activities
-Finance processing and oversight
-Administrating a calendar of learning and development opportunities
-Minutes and administration of meetings, training and events
To be successful in this role, you must have:
-Experience in office management and business and financial administration
-Experience in managing sensitive data and information
-Understanding and working knowledge of data protection
-Excellent proven organisational skills within complex environments
-Ability to communicate sensitively and professionally
-Project management skills
-Minute taking skills
-Advanced IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Role Overview:
The Talent Set is thrilled to be working with a fantastic national charity as they look for an Events Manager to support them for an initial 4–6-month FTC.
The organisation are seeking a highly motivated and strategic event professional with a successful history of executing impactful events. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire event lifecycle, from conceptual design to flawless delivery, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure this event exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design a celebratory event that reflects the organisation’s spirit and goals.

Person Specification:
- Previous experience in corporate or large-scale conferences is essential.
- Ability to design, plan, and execute engaging colleague meetings and events, taking them from concept to a successful completion.
- You're organized and detail-oriented, with excellent project management skills to keep things on track and meet deadlines.
- You excel at both written and verbal communication, building strong relationships with colleagues through clear and engaging messages.
- Able to approach challenges with innovative thinking and find effective solutions to keep things moving smoothly.
- You will stay calm and deliver results on time, even under tight deadlines.
- You have a track record of strong facilitation skills and can lead engaging and impactful meetings and events.
- You're a natural collaborator who thrives in an internal communications and engagement team environment.
- Desirable, if you have videoing and editing skills, you can use them to create even more engaging content for our initiatives.

Project Officer, Kent Community Rail Partnership

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as a Project Officer working in partnership with Southeastern, Medway Council and other partners in developing the Kent Community Railway Partnership (CRP). You will work as part of a small team, building strong relationships with communities, schools, workplaces and other local organisations.
As the Project Officer, you will help deliver the CRP action plan, which is a combination of mini-projects and core activities, offering a tailored package of support to groups and various community and school groups. You will also bring new volunteers on board and support them with their ongoing experience as part of the CRP.
As the project officer you will develop and engage communities in fun, innovative and informative activities. You will also share resources, and work with communities to reduce car use to and from train stations, increasing the opportunities for walking wheeling and cycling,
This role will require travel and work throughout Kent including the Isle of Sheppey as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you
You should have experience of leading, motivating activities for schools and community groups, being able to communicate confidentially to diverse communities by various means.
You should have the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of people including local authorities and similar partners.
We ask you demonstrate your knowledge of the local area including the Isle of Sheppey.
