Manchester Mind has worked with Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust for a number of years to deliver roles within Community Mental Health Teams in Manchester.  Social Workers are a vital part of the team and we are advertising for two roles in different teams in Manchester.  The post-holders will work within integrated, multi-disciplinary teams with staff employed both by Manchester Mind and by Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust.

As a Social Worker you are a crucial member of the team. You would be proactively supporting and care coordinating a caseload of people with mental health problems and complex needs.

The full-time role would be based in North Manchester and the part-time role in Central Manchester.

Tameside SHS is a mental health, 24 hour supported housing and community-based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, tenancy support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards. Care to join us?

As a Specialist Intervention Coach your challenge will be to monitor, develop and share good practice across staff teams to ensure individuals and teams are better equipped to work with a greater range of challenging support needs.  We’ll also rely on you to provide high quality intensive support using psychotherapeutic intervention and support the staff team in delivering these. Working to deliver the guided intervention model and brief interventions for Waythrough as a requirement of service expectations will be important too. You’ll be working closely with a range of professionals to ensure risk assessment, management and safeguarding requirements are effectively planned, assessed responded to and met, so good verbal and written communication skills are essential. You’ll also need a track record of dealing with ‘high risk’ clients and managing resources effectively, as well as experience of carrying out investigations and writing reports and recommendations. Solution focused and outcome driven, you’re great at leading, supervising and motivating staff and delegating work appropriately, have a firm but inclusive, open and encouraging management style and lots of tact and diplomacy. You will have some experience of prison settings, underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. This can be a tough environment, so the ability to work responsively, whilst feeling comfortable in a standalone role, is crucial.

This role is a fixed term role until 1st June 2025

Liverpool Transition, Preparation and Moving-On Service – Children's Residential Home

Barnardo's Transition, Preparation and Moving-On Service is looking for a residential worker for its 4 bed Children's home.

This is a service commissioned by Liverpool City Council to deliver Children's residential support in line with statutory requirements utilising therapeutic approaches. The service consists of one 4 bed Children's home.

The service aims to provide a nurturing environment within our high-quality home, which will meet the needs of children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, rejection, and whose basic needs have not been met.

The home offers our young people a safe space to enjoy themselves with activities such as karaoke, pamper, movie and games nights. Our young people are also encouraged to enjoy activities such as horse riding, going the cinema, indoor adventure parks, museums, theatre shows, youth clubs, fairs/theme parks i.e. Alton Towers, Blackpool and Southport.

We always ensure that our young people have the opportunity to enjoy at least one holiday/short break. 

We support our young people to learn skills such as cooking meals and baking.

In line with Barnardo's EDI awareness and ethos, we take part in cultural theme nights once a month.

On top of that, Saturday is takeaway night, so you even get a night off from cooking!

As a Transition home, our role is to support the young people in our care to either return back to their own families, move onto foster care, or move into semi-independence. The support we provide is vital in supporting our young people in their next chapter. You would play a huge part in this exciting role in changing the lives of our young people.

The home provides a truly therapeutically focussed environment that can meet the needs of young people who require support to manage their behaviours safely, develop their resilience and prepare them for the demands of future life with their own families or in other settings.

As a Residential Worker you will support the young people on a rota basis, covering the following:

• 3 on 4 off pattern across the year, with rotas completed at least one month in advance.
• Sleep ins - approximately 2 per month with an additional payment of approximately £68/sleep,
• Waking nights (approximately 2 per month)
• Opportunities to complete additional hours at an enhanced rate of pay.
• Some weekend working, on a rota basis

Designated days off are given following sleep ins and waking nights to promote wellbeing and recovery.

Your role as a  Residential Worker:

You will engage with and support young people in all aspects of their lives, attending to their practical, physical, and emotional needs, whilst safeguarding each young person at all times.

You will support the rest of the team around the young people, acting in the capacity of a corporate parent. You will support young people to enhance their social opportunities by accessing hobbies & activities in the home and in the community. This could include supporting young people to access meals out/cinema/theatre/activity clubs etc and engage with fun nights in e.g. Movie/pamper/ games nights etc.

If you have experience of supporting young people who have experienced trauma, are passionate about the children in your care and can show understanding, tenacity, consistency of care and the ability to engage with a wide range of young people – this may be the opportunity for you!

Position: 5811 Team Leader

Location: Home-based with extensive travel throughout Wiltshire and Swindon

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours Monday- Friday 9:30am-4pm

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £23,664 per annum (£29,580 FTE)

The Role

This role is home-based, but will require extensive travel across Wiltshire and Swindon to attend in-person meetings and work from various community hubs.

As the Wiltshire Team Leader you will:

• Ensure the delivery of excellent services to victims of crime and retain and develop contracts for services by supporting and managing operational staff

• Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager and management team, in order to achieve the implementation of work force plans and the development of the service to maximise positive outcomes for those that access the service

• Proactively promote the service, raise awareness of services & work with professionals collaboratively to improve the access to and quality of services

About You

An understanding of the Criminal justice system and the impact of crime on victims and witnesses are essential for this role, as well as experience of the following: 

• An understanding of legislation relating to equal opportunities and diversity, inclusivity, safeguarding and risk assessments

• A practical understanding of the requirement for confidentiality and safe working practice and maintenance of records in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other legal requirements

• Experience of working in a challenging and changing environment with an emphasis on customer focus and excellence in service delivery

• Demonstrable experience of providing crisis management, support and guidance in sometimes stressful and difficult situations to a team with a client service focus

• Excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting professionally with a range of agencies and individuals.

We are looking for a compassionate leader to take our Internal Communications and Engagement function to the next level as we enter the next phase of our Help and Hope strategy in 2027. You’ll be a culture champion, inspiring storyteller, digital innovator, and cross-organisation relationship builder.
This is a leadership role within our People Directorate and will head up a collaborative Internal Communications and Engagement team that is focused on evolving our culture framework and creating an inspiring workplace through communications. A key pillar of the role will be championing colleague voice through our forums and lived experience networks, supporting both our employed and volunteer colleagues.
This role will lead the team to create a framework for culture development that is focused on driving our bold ambitions as a charity and having a demonstrable impact. We are at an exciting juncture as an organisation as we are mid-way through our strategy and there is a huge potential to help shape the direction of travel for colleagues when it comes to communications and engagement.
You will join our heads of community and be working with senior leaders across the organisation so experience of influencing, joining the dots and working collaboratively across large organisations will be important.
You’ll also play a key role in the People Directorate to build a compelling people experience and vision to enable colleagues to go all in and do the best work of their lives in support of our cause.
You will be building on strong foundations of comms and engagement best practices and have scope to shape what comms and culture at the Society could look like for the future that will ultimately have the greatest impact on those living with dementia.
It’s a varied and creative role – from shaping the organisational narrative, through to innovating creative ways to engage and leading events that inspire - creating a culture of open and transparent communication are all part of this role.
You'll be a citizen of the Society and an all-around visible ambassador for conferences, team days/meetings etc.

You will be working alongside our existing part-time job-share Press Manager ensuring a smooth consistency in output throughout the week. We offer hybrid working. Ideally you will be based in London but this is flexible.

The Press Manager will promote a positive image of the Party and its key public figures in line with these strategies, as well as helping achieve favourable coverage in the media under the direction of the Head of Communications.

You will thrive in fast-paced environments, be flexible, quick-thinking, decisive, and have good political antennae. You will write like a dream, manage competing priorities calmly, have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and be able to explain just why our representative would be the perfect person for this television slot or radio show, all while being intrinsically motivated by environmental and social justice.
