Job description

Income generation and fundraising at Solace is ambitious, dynamic and rewarding. Our fundraising team drives forward new bids and grant applications to fund Solace’s essential services. We work alongside our award-winning Communications, Partnerships & Public Affairs team.

About the role

We are looking for a committed volunteer to join our busy fundraising team. Joining an essential service in our charity, volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved in a range of activities including:

  • Carrying out grant opportunity searches on platforms such as GrantFinder.
  • Identifying opportunities that are relevant to Solace’s mission and fundraising priorities.
  • Assisting in managing funding opportunities alerts.
  • Writing summaries of grant opportunities.
  • Completing bid related administration tasks ex. updating trackers and funding databases etc.
  • Writing sections of bids, with support from the bid managers.
  • Finding and collate data for bids
  • Contributing to funder communication such as content for regular newsletters.

Who are we looking for?

We think you’ll thrive in this role if you are:

  • Organised with good IT skills.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable and committed.
  • Understanding of domestic violence issues and a discretion in handling confidential and/or sensitive information.
  • Comfortable delivering pieces of work to tight deadlines.

We also offer great volunteer induction training, where you will be fully supported to understand and carry put every aspect of the role. Training includes CPD accredited courses, and the opportunity to apply to complete the Tackling and Preventing Domestic Abuse Award (DAPA), which is recognized by the Home Office.
