Job Purpose:

Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women who have been referred for support by prison staff, predominately the Mental Health In-Reach Teams and Primary Care Teams.

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to women in contact with the criminal justice system.

2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.

3. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders such as statutory and voluntary sector agencies.

Collaborate closely with our Senior Fundraising Manager to identify funding opportunities, develop compelling proposals, support individual giving and contribute to bid writing for projects that align with CSE’s strategic goals.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) but will consider a minimum of 30 hours.
• The salary for the role will be £27,121 to £32,486
• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Write compelling funding pitches for projects or fundraising campaigns.
• Represent CSE at external events to promote our work, support horizon scanning and identify future partners for the fundraising team to work with.
• Maintain accurate and up to date fundraising content on website, all other CSE communications channels and third-party platforms.
• Support the running of online and in-person events to raise awareness of CSE’s work with key stakeholders and potential funders.
• Steward current individual supporters, building engagement through a supporter journey.
• Develop campaigns and appeals to engage with new audiences and encourage new supporters.
• Ensure all income and donations are processed, and acknowledged appropriately, including using systems for accurately managing supporter data.
• Research Trusts and Foundations to identify prospects with objectives which align with CSE’s strategic goals. Collate this information in an appropriate, accessible format.
• Develop creative ways of presenting CSE to engage corporate partners leading to mutually beneficial relationships with social purpose.
• Write content for sections of bids.

Essential attributes for this role include:

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• Competence with MS Office programmes – in particular Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• Excellent verbal and written communication expertise, able to communicate complex ideas to a range of audiences.
• Empathetic and communicative – able to nurture and build relationships with a wide range of donors and supporters.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and with limited supervision and as part of a team.
• Good time management skills, including priority setting, multi-tasking and problem-solving.
• Understanding of trust and foundation funders.

Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Pioneering Project, as we develop pathways to faith on the Roundshaw Estate.

With significant grant investment from the Church of England, we are now setting up a Pioneering Project to develop these pathways, with new innovative spaces being added along the way. We will then train and support other Estate partner churches across the Southwark Diocese to try out our approach, contextualising our models of mission to their communities if appropriate. This is a really exciting project that will make a huge positive difference to individuals and communities. As such, we are looking for an experienced Operations Director to manage this project and oversee the team that will be recruited.

This role is vital to ensure we deliver on the agreed outcomes of the project over 5 years, which will involve:

• project oversight
• team management and recruitment, so new team members can thrive in their roles
• direction of our operational processes, including developing our finance, IT and communications (including a new website) to support the project.

We would love someone in this role to have a passion for Jesus, a drive to make our processes and systems as fruitful as possible, with the ability to nurture a joyful and motivated team. The team to be recruited includes a Children and Families Pioneer, a Media pioneer, and in 18 months will grow to include a Youth Pioneer, Music & Worship Pioneer and Pioneer Curate. We are looking for an exceptional Communications Officer (Fundraising) to join our Marketing and Communications team, with a focus on raising awareness amongst existing and potential stakeholders and fundraisers. Working closely with the Fundraising team, you will be responsible for researching, sourcing, and writing powerful fundraising stories and case studies, ensuring consistency with our brand and messaging, that bring the RNRMC to life which engender support and drive engagement.

RNRMC is the Navy’s principal charity which exists to support every sailor, marine and their families, for life. We do this by offering grants to and working with, other organisations to deliver programmes that meet the needs of our beneficiaries. Experience and Background

You will have previous experience within a communications, marketing, or PR role along with a good standard of education, excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with good attention to detail.  You must possess strong story-telling skills with the ability to translate the complex and nuanced work of the RNRMC into clear and concise narratives that increase understanding of the charity. You will have excellent interpersonal and engagement skills, with a welcoming and collaborative approach to working with colleagues and the ability to maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload, juggling consecutive projects and often conflicting deadlines.

Hours of Work

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Frequent travel to meet and interview beneficiaries will be required, along with a willingness to work outside normal office hours to obtain the story.

We have a friendly, supportive, and inclusive environment with a hybrid working framework involving the opportunity to work from home and in the RNRMC offices. There will be a small number of roles where employees will be required to work only from our offices, but typically most employees will be able to work remotely on average 40% of their working week. All employees are welcome to use our office for their whole working week if that is their preference.

Salary

The full time equivalent annual salary range for the post is between £26,500 up to £29,000 per annum based on experience.

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights and feminist organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Our work is dedicated to supporting the immediate and long-term needs of Latin American migrant women exposed to violations of their fundamental human rights; facing violence against women and girls, exploitation or trafficking; enduring difficult living and working conditions in low paid jobs and facing barriers to social protection.

LAWRS Social Change team reflects our inclusive approach to developing policy, advocacy and campaigning work by centring the experience of the most marginalised and excluded women to call for social justice. You’ll be responsible for arranging and confirming bookings for Theatre in Education play performances within schools, coordinating DSMF events and working with the existing Bookings Administrator to support our ever-growing delivery of drug education workshops withing schools. To coordinate and grow York Mind’s community and events fundraising income through effective networking, event, and volunteer coordination.

This role sits within our Corporate Wellbeing Service team, where you will mainly work alongside our Head of Corporate Wellbeing Services and Corporate Fundraiser, to generate income for the charity through community engagement and events. You will be responsible for meeting the annual community and events income target. The role will require someone with strong organisational skills, and prior experience as a Fundraiser in another organisation. You will divide your time between developing, planning, and running events, supporting people to raise money on behalf of York Mind, and creating new relationships in the community, such as with schools and sports clubs. We have an annual calendar of both internal and external events, including our annual Mental Elf run, as well as challenges such as the York 10k and Yorkshire Marathon. Your role will be to fill events, and effectively steward and support people to raise as much money as possible through their participation. As part of your role in event coordination, you will be responsible for our fundraising volunteer base, including recruitment and effective utilisation of volunteers at our various events. Flexibility will be key, as some events happen on evenings and weekends. Another important part of this role will be engaging and developing relationships with community supporters. You should have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy getting out and about in the community (eg. sports clubs/community organisations) to grow our supporter base and look after those who we currently work with. Finally, the Corporate Wellbeing Services Team work collaboratively and therefore you should be able to work effectively as part of a team and be willing to support others in their roles to ensure the effective running of the whole department. For example, you may be involved in running campaigns and referring individuals to our training courses. This will require someone who is adaptable and supportive.

Overview of Role:

As Human Resources Advisor you will be joining a small, friendly and supportive HR team providing advice and support to managers and staff across the full range of employee life-cycle activities. This is a maternity cover post, so is offered on a fixed term contract for 12 months. As this is a short-term contract, we are looking for someone with HR experience at this level who can also embody our culture as a charity with a Christian ethos.

You will provide HR advice and support, to our Centres of Mission (CoM) (which are local projects run in partnership with Diocese to share the Good News of Jesus); our central services team in Sheffield known as Co.Lab; and our Sheffield based conference centre and accommodation.

The HR Advisor will play a key role in developing and strengthening the relationship between the staff, line managers and HR and ensure we deliver an effective HR service which is aligned with the service to the wider organisation. The post holder will work closely with managers in making sure the Christian ethos and values of Church Army are part of their culture and practice as line managers.

This role suits someone who is a HR generalist with strong knowledge of key HR practices including recruitment and retention, employee relations and development and training. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in HR and hold a related qualification such as CIPD. As the role will be the link between HR, CoMs and our Co.Lab team, the post holder will play a key part in ensuring the vision, values and ethos of Church Army are evident.
