Whizz Kidz is transforming. It is an exciting time to join us as a Partnerships Development Executive as we embark on an ambitious strategy for the next three years. Sitting within our Corporate Partnerships team this role will support the Head of Partnerships and Partnership Development Manager to develop and delivery of long-term relationships with companies – both large and small – so we increase the number, scale and value of corporate partnerships with the goal of providing more sustainable support for Whizz-Kidz.
To achieve this you will proactively identify, research and quantify opportunities across priority sectors, manage your own prospect pipeline and work with internal teams to create a clear case for support that will help deliver shared purpose and shared value partnerships. You will play your part in helping build the Whizz Kidz brand, grow influence and drive income.

Over 75,000 young people aren’t getting the wheelchair or support that fully meets their needs. Without the ability to be independent young wheelchair users are restricted in their ability to socialise and participate in society.

As the UK’s leading charity for young wheelchair users (up to 25 years old), we empower young people by providing the wheelchairs, equipment, support and confidence-building experiences they need, and campaigning for a more inclusive society.

The Fundraising and communications team at Whizz Kidz raises around 95% of the income to fund the work of the charity and supports the generation of funds through on and offline publications, develops our social media and website presence and leads on PR activities.
The person
As the Whizz Kidz Partnership Development Executive you will be encouraged to get into the heart of the organisation, understand our ambitions and use your passion, knowledge and skills to help identify and deliver new corporate partnerships. You will understand how to identify the right opportunities for Whizz Kidz and know what it takes to win and manage different types of partnerships. You will have solid written and verbal communication skills, be comfortable presenting and willing to develop and learn new skills. You will be keen to play your part in helping the fundraising and marcomms team maintain a positive culture, increase brand awareness and unlock vital income to create positive change for young wheelchair users and their families.
Key accountabilities
• Support the Partnerships team in generating long term sustainable income (unrestricted/restricted) from the corporate sector by developing income first multi-year partnerships
• Create and deliver engaging and targeted new business proposals, pitches and presentations as well as creating compelling and persuasive cases for support to help secure and establish successful new partnerships
• Support team to achieve its financial targets through new and existing partnerships
• Researching and quantifying opportunities alongside identifying and cultivating relationships with new prospects with a view to securing face to face meetings and long-term support
• Ensure frameworks and legal contracts describing and defining funding relationships comply with charity, HMRC law and fundraising best practice.

About the role:
We are excited to be taking the lead in the London Whole Housing Service Partnership (LWHSP) which will address and enhance the pathways of housing support for women experiencing domestic abuse, from removing them from immediate harm, to enabling recovery and resettlement across all levels of need. The LWHSP are seeking to build on our delivery across 11 East and West London boroughs of the Whole Housing Approach (WHA).
The Housing IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will specialise in working with clients for whom housing, and risk of tenancy breakdown is a factor. You will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. You will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.
About You:
As a Housing IDVA, you will need to have a degree of flexibility for colocation work across London boroughs; providing support to women who have experienced domestic violence, focusing on individuals with housing or tenancy issues. Working in our fast-paced crisis intervention, advocacy and support service, you’ll ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will have your own caseload of survivors and will focus on working with those aged 18 and over who access our domestic abuse service.
You will bring experience in providing independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women who approach housing advice and assessment for help. Ideally experience in working with housing service providers, and advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies. You will have the ability to develop individual safety and support plans in-line with the clients’ needs and the risks they face.

Background
Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3250 children in 2024-25.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.
Job Summary
Chapter One is seeking a Manchester Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to children facing disadvantage communities is maximised throughout the academic year.
The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base, but who is also able to travel frequently around the Greater Manchester area to visit schools.The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year. The weekly hours for this role (currently 12-14 p/week) are likely to increase in future.
Key Responsibilities:
• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers
• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms
• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others
• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up
• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom
• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles
• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed
• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise
• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends
• Create monthly data summaries for all participating classrooms
• Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools

• Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary
• Liaison with corporate partners as required
• Weekly communication and status updates with Senior Programme Manager(s) and wider team
• As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and find and target new schools to join Chapter One’s programme

About the role:
The Diversion programme began as a two-year pilot programme launched in July 2019 and funded by MOPAC (Mayor’s Office for Policing & Crime). The aim was to drive multi-agency working between the police, Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) service providers and other statutory partners and was part of a wider programme of work to develop a whole system approach to identifying and addressing the needs of women involved in the criminal justice system in London. The Diversion programme integrates a short-term, holistic package of support for women with an out of court disposal, to improve outcomes for the woman and offer Police officers a robust alternative pathway other than prosecution.
We have recently been awarded funding from Portsmouth City Council to deliver a 12-month pilot of the Diversion Programme in Portsmouth, to support those women of the PO1-PO6 area postcodes, who encounter the Police and as a result are then to be referred to the Diversion service rather than be prosecuted.
The successful post holder is required to pass Police Vetting
About You:
To be successful as Diversion Keyworker you will have an in-depth knowledge of issues facing women offenders and those at risk of offending; both in and out of the criminal justice system and the ability to see how violence against women and girls interlinks to women in the criminal justice system.
In short, you will have: -
You will bring proven practice of working with women experiencing issues related to offending (e.g. homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse, mental health or other relevant work area) preferably within criminal justice setting. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of conducting needs and risk assessments and of risk management crisis management skills and an ability to cope in stressful situations. You will show forth your ability to manage a caseload and a top-quality skill set with prioritising and organising your own workload.
You will be a self-serving uniquely able to undertake working independently and at times be managed remotely. That said, you will have a proven record of collaborative and working partnership with relevant statutory and voluntary groups, demonstrating the ability to develop and maintain strong constructive working relationships.

PURPOSE OF THE POST
The Assistant Director for POPS core business is pivotal to ensuring the efficient, effective and legally compliant management of POPS’ head office functions and organisational infrastructure. ACCOUNTABILITY:
POPS’ Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
GENERAL
- Work productively alongside POPS Assistant Director for Operations and Business Development to ensure the success and future growth of the organisation
- Develop national, regional and local alliances and partnerships to enable POPS to fulfil its Mission and strategic plans
- Seek out the use of innovative business models and systems.
- Work with departmental managers to develop action plans and ensure that appropriate targets are set, monitored and achieved.
- Ensure that the Director and Board of Trustees are provided with an oversight of activity, effectiveness and development of all core business functions
- Produce and present internal and external reports to meet designated deadlines
- Produce Business Continuity and Risk Management plans
- Attend and report to POPS’ quarterly Trustee meetings.
- Support bid writing and commissioning processes where required.
- Attend and host internal and external meetings when required.
- Responsibility for the management and overseeing physical maintenance of POPS’ Head Office Building, Rochdale Road Manchester
- Oversee the tenancy of the ground floor space of POPS’ Head Office building
- Oversee outsourced provision of POPS’ ICT functions
- Ensure POPS retains and develops appropriate kyte marks and quality assurance certifications. E.g. Cyber Essentials Plus
- Create a learning and knowledge culture across the organisation to inform future and transformational change.
- Create and contribute to a culture of valuing others and innovation

FINANCE
- Directly line manager POPS’ Finance manager
- Oversee the financial administrative function of POPS’ finance department ensuring legal and organisational compliance, including liaison with POPS’ external auditors.
- Ensure all financial transactions of the organisation meet the requirements of commissioners, creditors and suppliers
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget, monitor monthly management accounts and review project activity against agreed budgets
- Take a leading role in supporting future commissioning, working with POPS’ finance manager to produce relevant financial information
HUMAN RESOUCES
- Directly Line manage POPS’ HR Manager
- Overseas all administrative HR functions, including staff recruitment, management, training and development
- Ensure compliance with employment Law legislation and processes
- Ensure effective management of people through supportive performance management.
- Implement practices to ensure equality and diversity across staffing teams and service delivery
- Ensure the implementation and development of POPS’ Policies and Procedures
COMMUNICATIONS
- Directly Line Manage POPS’ Communications Officer
- Contribute to the development of POPS’ Communications Strategy
- Ensure POPS’ branding and messaging is consistent and meets with the aims of POPS’ strategy and organisational ethos
- To take a leading role in the development and production of all communications materials, including publicity, reports and web site
