Sands exists to save babies’ lives and ensure that anyone affected by pregnancy loss or baby death receives the support and care they need.

Our Bereavement Support Services team provides a wide range of services including a freephone Helpline, Online Community, Social Media support, memory making resources and print materials in order to provide consistent, high-quality information and support to bereaved families.

In this role you will provide operational and line management support so that the team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers whilst working on a rota basis.  You will also personally provide support to families via our various bereavement support channels.

The Sands Helpline is currently open from 10.00am to 3.00pm from Monday to Friday, and also between 6.00pm and 9.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You will be expected to work regular shifts on a rota basis.

With significant experience of managing a team responding to people in crisis and  providing bereavement-centred support in a variety of settings and channels, you will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of and empathy with, the issues surrounding the death of a baby. 

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to use these appropriately to offer telephone and email support to bereaved families.

The ability to professionally represent the charity’s views and positions clearly is essential, as are strong research skills and the ability to keep accurate and clear records in a variety of formats. Additionally, you will have a thorough understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding issues.

You will be highly-organised and have effective time management skills with the ability to manage your own workload.  The ability to reflect on your own practice and attend regular accredited clinical supervision is also essential.

Please note that this is a 9-month fixed-term role to cover maternity leave.

Working with the Footwork Director and Advisory Board, the main purpose of the role is to oversee and coordinate overall delivery of Footwork’s new five-year strategy and to take a leadership role in maximizing fundraising opportunities. Footwork is a small but ambitious charity with an established reputation in global health networks and partnerships. The Resource Mobilisation and Strategy Manager will be responsible for maintaining and growing these links with a wide variety of stakeholders, including national governments, international NGOs, and funders. The post holder will also manage and coordinate Footwork’s governance, including primarily the convening of the Footwork Advisory Board and Technical Committee, and providing input to and coordinating relevant outputs and actions from these bodies as required. The role offers an opportunity to have a key role in developing and shaping Footwork’s profile and impact at an exciting time. In particular, the post holder will take responsibility for delivering the following goals. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

· To oversee and coordinate overall delivery of Footwork’s new five-year strategy; 

· To manage and coordinate Footwork’s governance, including primarily the convening of the Footwork Advisory Board and Technical Committee, and to provide inputs to and coordinate relevant outputs and actions from these bodies as required; 

· To prepare and publish the First Global Strategy for Podoconiosis through an open and consultative international process; 

· To develop a communications and fundraising strategy, including support for the continuation of this role;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Team Management and Leadership 

· Provide management and leadership to achieve targets and objectives and drive the implementation of the strategic plan 

· Ensure the availability of resources to achieve targets and objectives of the Footwork strategic plan 

· Work with a range of stakeholders to develop and deliver an international conference hosted outside the UK.

The post holder reports to the Head of Department for Global Health and Infection, working under general direction within a clear framework the post holder will manage their own work to achieve their agreed objectives. The role holder will play a key role in supporting the Divisional leadership team to achieve the strategic and operational goals of the University, Professional Services & their Division. You will lead and support the Helpline Practitioners and Volunteers, ensuring shifts are resourced. Role summary and purpose
 

This is a time of continuing and exciting development at Kidney Care UK, the leading kidney patient support charity nationwide. Our charity provides emotional, practical and financial support to kidney patients and their families, in addition to consistently undertaking to improve kidney health and care services across the UK.

The counselling service is currently seeking an integrative counsellor to welcome to their friendly and supportive team. Our counsellors are dedicated to understanding and empowering kidney patients/family members/carers whose daily lives are impacted through living with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

If you feel this is an area that you would be keen to work in, and are successful in your application, you will receive the necessary in-house training to understand and work effectively with the impact of this disease.

All essential requirements must be met for applications to be considered and can be found listed within the personal specification. However, candidates will not be considered if they do not have the following:

• Current BACP Membership.
• Competent integrative counselling.
• A minimum of 3 years’ post qualification client experience.

The Counselling Service is based within Kidney Care UK Patient Services and works collaboratively with the Patient Grants Team (offering patient information, advice, and hardship grants) and the Patient Support Advocacy Service (offering practical help and advice to anyone affected by kidney disease).

As a Nationwide Counselling Service, we do not offer face-to-face client sessions. All our client engagement is remote, either through Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WhatsApp or Telephone in line with client needs.

The International Programme Officer will report to our Global Operations Director and will work closely with personnel and partners in different countries where WW supports development programmes, to ensure the work we support is aligned with WW’s strategy, and that the delivery of our work has impact, is on track and is in line with donor agreements and budgets. 

Specific responsibilities will include:

1. Programme coordination, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning

• Support organisational and programme planning, ensuring alignment with agreed delivery targets, outputs and outcomes.

• Support partners to ensure MEAL systems are effective in tracking, supporting and learning from delivery of workplans.

• Monitor financial and material resources relevant to project needs, flagging any concerns to the line manager and UK Director of Corporate Services.

• Champion learning, supporting teams and partners to analyse, package and deliver learning internally and externally for advocacy and communications, focused on driving system change at scale.

• Proactively seize opportunities and troubleshoot problems that arise in the course of the work. Deliver proactive management interventions that keep work on track and maximise impact.

• Ensure social inclusion, where the needs of vulnerable people are clearly heard and acted upon, is at the heart of our work.

• Support effective communication across and with the UK team, and partners in other countries. 

2. Technical delivery and quality assurance

• Provide technical advice and support partners with delivery, investigations and assessments.

• Identify or co-develop appropriate methods and guidance to support delivery of key tasks within the programmes.

• Liaise both diplomatically and effectively with stakeholders. 

• Ensure quality documentation and record keeping.

• Support country teams to undertake desk studies and literature reviews and produce and issue background reports.

• Support organisational capacity building and training of partners, including compliance with internal policies and best practice.

3. Documentation, learning and advocacy

• Mentor and support teams to collate, analyse and synthesise knowledge generated.

• Mentor and support teams in documentation, including writing and reviewing high quality, timely reports programme reports that respond to donor requirements and illustrate impact.

• Develop, co-author and disseminate knowledge products, including case studies, training modules, and guidance materials in support of programmes, liaising with the Director of Public and Political Engagement.

• Support our partners to develop powerful evidence-based stories and narratives to engage media, specific targeted groups, our wider networks and new audiences, including press, multi-media and website content.

• Coordinate and support the effective use of Information and Communications Technology across teams.

• Identify opportunities to increase programme visibility and raise the organization’s profile by disseminating results within and beyond the development community and water sector, liaising with the Director of Public and Political Engagement.

4. Organisational development

• Represent Water Witness and the interests of its stakeholders at local and international meetings as required, and develop strategic relationships with partners.

• Contribute to the strategic development of the organisation including through supporting the development or support of funding proposals, bids and efficient back office support and management.

• Provide advice, support to the Director, Senior Leadership Team, team, partners and the Board of Trustees.

The Programme Development Manager will provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements. You will proactively manage relationships with existing donors, developing engagement strategies, sharing key information, and laying groundwork for follow-on funding. Finally, you will lead proposals for new and existing donors, coordinating inputs from Hand in Hand International and network colleagues, drafting technical inputs, and engaging with funders where required.

The ideal candidate will have an innovative approach and a strong track record in fundraising from large institutional donors; trusts and foundations, corporate foundations and governments. The main objective of the role is to identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them from prospects to secured funds. The role will be roughly 70% fundraising and 30% grant management.

As well as a demonstrable track-record securing large, multi-year grants from different types of funders, you will have experience with their thematic areas: women’s economic empowerment, value chains, livelihoods or enterprise acceleration. Experience working in development projects in Eastern Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe. Experience in Afghanistan would be a plus.

This newly created position will become part of the Public Fundraising team and will develop and implement a legacy fundraising programme that will allow the charity to realise the great untapped potential of gifts in wills for the Charity. The Legacy Fundraising Manager will be tasked with increasing the number of legacy enquirers and pledgers from existing and new supporters and contribute to the charity’s sustainable long-term income growth

Gifts in wills are an important income stream for the charity, last year raising over £2M towards our fundraised income, despite limited promotion in this area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced legacy fundraiser to really make their mark and develop a programme of activity that will feed our future legacy pipeline.

Your key responsibilities will include;

• Developing and driving forward an engaging and inspiring programme of activity that will increase numbers of legacy enquirers and pledgers from existing and new supporters.
• Project managing legacy fundraising activities, including creative development, briefing and managing external suppliers, briefing data selections and assessing results.
• Managing a legacy pipeline - engaging prospects, generating enquiries, moving supporters from enquirers to pledgers, stewarding pledgers and legator family members. 
• Applying a strategic approach to legacy fundraising, producing annual fundraising plans, and contributing to longer term strategic growth of legacy income for the charity.
• As the programme grows there will likely be opportunities to develop and deliver legacy cultivation and stewardship events, alongside a digital and offline communication plan - making the most of existing events in the calendar as well as working with colleagues in the major giving team to explore other opportunities to engage those on the legacy pipeline in person.

This position would ideally suit a candidate with;

• A strong track record of legacy fundraising, with a broad knowledge of the gifts in wills marketplace and an ability to champion legacies
• Excellent experience and knowledge of relationship fundraising, marketing, cultivation and stewardship techniques needed for legacy fundraising
• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, and competent using data and insight to plan supporter focused activity
