In this position you'll lead on the development, implementation, delivery and reporting of Cancer Research UK's sustainability and Environmental, Social & Governance strategy, whilst also championing ESG & Sustainability across the whole organisation. You will also be leading on defining and delivering the plan to deliver on CRUK's commitments in its EDI Strategy.

What will be some of the main responsibilities?
Key primary accountability on leading the refresh of Cancer Research UK's Environmental Sustainability Strategy, addressing aspects such as nature, waste and water.
Develop CRUK's ambitions and focus to continue being a responsible organisation, working closely with executive management and Cancer Research UK's Council of Trustees to set the ambition and organisational priorities for ESG for Cancer Research UK in the short, medium and long term.
Continually developing and delivering against an organisation-wide implementation plan to help ensure that Cancer Research UK delivers against its ambition on sustainability and ESG, including establishing an effective delivery framework and developing targets / measures of success.
Champion & facilitate sustainability and ESG across the organisation.
Establish and maintain partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, effectively building and leveraging relationships to aid delivery of the sustainability and ESG strategy.
Continue to effectively build, develop and lead a strong, values-led, energetic, ambitious and resilient team of environmental, social and governance subject matter experts, whilst overseeing responsibility for our Sustainability Strategy, EDI Strategy, Modern Slavery and our Responsible Sourcing agenda.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a refuge worker within a refuge service, supporting women and their children fleeing domestic abuse. Your responsibilities will include supporting and advocating for women and children, taking part in the on-call rota, managing day to day running of the refuge; health & safety, safeguarding, supporting the service and deputy manager.
Some of the key accountabilities are:

Providing practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles. This will include conducting key work sessions on a regular basis and keeping casework records up to date.

What a day might look like for you

You will:
- Support the Head of Companion Animals with strategy development and implementation as necessary.
- Deputise for the Head at internal and external meetings.
- Assist with the preparation of departmental budgets, and make decisions on behalf of the Head in their absence.
- Lead the management of multiple projects which align with the extreme breeding strategy, allocating tasks to assigned resources in order to ensure that all projects meet agreed quality, cost and timescale parameters.
- Create a strong evidence base for the RSPCA's work on extreme breeding and other welfare issues affecting companion animals, including relevant scientific, legislative, ethical and animal welfare issues and developments in the UK and internationally.
- Monitor, review, analyse, report on and where appropriate respond to, reports and announcements from relevant bodies on proposed EU directives, domestic UK legislation, and the work of parliamentary select committees, Defra, and other governmental and NGO working groups relevant to extreme breeding.
- Be a lead representative for the Society at meetings on extreme breeding to promote its objectives to key stakeholders and target audiences up to the highest levels including government ministers, MPs and senior civil servants, industry and other external bodies, committees, working groups, government representatives and working groups and think tanks and produce associated briefing papers and reports.
- To produce reports on extreme breeding and other companion animal issues, and contribute to departmental newsletters and information sheets and material for RSPCA publications.
What makes a great Scientific and Policy Manager?
To succeed within this role, it is essential that you have:
- A degree level qualification in a relevant biological discipline, plus relevant experience.
- Specific and extensive expertise relevant to animal welfare and companion animals specific to the post.
- A broad knowledge and understanding of animal welfare issues.
- An excellent knowledge and understanding of legislation, regulations and relevant organisations in government, industry.
- Proven experience of developing and implementing successful theories of change and impactful strategies with clear outcomes and objectives.
- Proven experience of high level influencing.
- The ability to build and utilise networks of contacts effectively and to work in coalition with others.
- Proven expertise in developing policy positions, shaping agendas and working in coalition to achieve change.
- Demonstrable research and writing skills with the ability to effectively condense, summarise and make sense of large amounts of information quickly, pulling out salient points and spotting potential weaknesses or problems.

Ambitious Impact (AIM) is a growing nonprofit organisation running training and incubation programs aimed at establishing and supporting a flourishing high-impact, effectiveness-focused philanthropic ecosystem, with a lively community office in East London.
We are looking for a talented Communication and Marketing Manager to join our Recruitment team to increase the quality of AIM’s communication, and our identification of exceptional talent to join our high-impact training programs. In this role, you will create, execute, and evaluate multi-channel marketing and communications strategies and continuously evaluate and improve them for the next iteration.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Recruitment team currently consists of ~three FTE and fulfils the two key functions of attracting and selecting top candidates for our Charity Entrepreneurship incubation program - as well as possible support for other programs AIM runs or may run. As such, there are two 3-4 month sprints each year that are very execution focused for identifying and then selecting top candidates. The recruitment team also carries out broader communications work for AIM, such as by supporting AIM’s Impactful Grantmaking Program, on outreach for staff roles at AIM, and helping our incubated charities with their initial communications.
As Communication and Marketing Manager, you will chiefly be responsible for the attracting function on the team, presenting AIM’s work in a consistently high fidelity, compelling, and engaging manner. You’ll bring a strong focus on implementation, efficiency, and strategic improvement to help us maximise the value of AIM’s communication efforts.
The role could be more junior or more senior depending on the successful candidate: A more experienced hire will take more of a lead on designing the strategy they will execute, while a more junior hire will focus more on contributing to and learning strategic planning for the tasks they will execute at first.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Our application processes aim to be highly predictive, time-effective, and informative for you. Our process consists only of stages that our best evidence suggests are predictive of success on the job (such as test tasks) rather than more common but less predictive stages (such as cover letters). We only invite candidates to the next stage if we think they have a good chance of passing it, and take care to choose tasks and interview questions that will also give you a good sense of the role and our culture.

The role
At Art Fund, the role of Executive Assistant sits at the very centre of the organisation. Your primary focus is the administrative support of the Director through complex diary management and managing a busy inbox; but the role also encapsulates organising staff social, information sharing and learning events, collaborating with departments on projects, providing administrative support to the Senior Management Team in their weekly meetings and supporting the Governance Manager with the planning and delivery of Board meetings.
At its core, this role is administration based and in support of the Director of Art Fund. We are SafeLives, the UK-wide charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse, for everyone and for good.
Last year alone, 14,000 professionals received our training. Over 80,000 adults at risk of serious harm or murder and more than 100,000 children received support through dedicated multi-agency support designed by us and delivered with partners. In the last six years, over 4,000 perpetrators have been challenged and supported to change by interventions we created with partners, and that’s just the start.
