This has risen by 14% since 2020, showing a drive for more sustainable support at a local level. In 2023 over £170 million in grants were distributed by community foundations. We are looking for a IDVA for our clients London based team. This amazing opportunity will grant the successful candidate the chance to work alongside vulnerable women fleeing domestic violence and ensure they are surrounded by a strong support network around housing options. You will be addressing the safety of the victims as well as working to keep their children safe too.
As an IDVA, you will be:
- Serving as a victims first point of contact providing them with the support they need emotionally.
- Managing your own caseload of vulnerable clients fleeing from Domestic Abuse.
- Assessing all referrals coming into the service and providing them with initial support should they need it.
- Completing admin tasks and multitasking.
- Completing risk assessments with each client.
To be successful, you will need to:
- Be experienced within dealing with vulnerable people specifically women and children and be responsive to crisis situations.
- Ability to multitask and thrive within a busy service.
- Have a strong knowledge around IT and Microsoft office 365.
- Showing a compassionate nature towards those in need.
- Have flexibility as you may be required to travel and meet clients.

You will use your policy and strategy skills to influence national housing policy on behalf of our housing association members. Nb within the NHF this role is known as ‘Policy leader’ but it is equivalent to a Senior Policy Advisor in other settings.

About this key role
St Giles Trust and the West Midlands Domestic Abuse Victim Support Service Consortium are partnering to provide DA offender intervention and tailored DA victim support. Our successful candidate will engage with offenders in police custody once they have been identified as being perpetrators of domestic abuse and will have responsibility to build positive relationships and work directly with the offender in custody to promote positive change, build resilience, reduce risks, and prevent further harm through DA offending.
You will produce DA offender risk management plans based on assessments and ensure that the DA perpetrator understands the consequences of their DA offending behaviour and works towards accepting responsibility for their actions and to positively change their behaviour. We will also count on you to always promote and protect the safety of the victim(s) and families and to collaborate closely with all key stakeholders to ensure that increases in risk of harm are escalated rapidly and a multi-agency plan is in place. Delivering a holistic support service as the situation dictates is also a key element of the role.
What we are looking for:
- Several years of professional experience of similar role
- Experience of completing risk assessments and safeguarding victims, children, and families
- Experience of providing support, advice and advocacy and the ability to assess clients’ needs
- Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people
- Experience of working with domestic abuse perpetrators
- Experience in negotiating with partner agencies to establish links to further the aims of a project
- Knowledge of risk factors associated with perpetrators of domestic abuse
- Knowledge of up-to-date housing, criminal, civil and welfare rights legislation relating to domestic abuse
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

What you’ll be doing

A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles.
Please note that this post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota. An enhanced DBS will also be required for the successful applicant.
A driving license and access to a car is essential to the role.

Financial Reporting Accountant | £50,000 - £54,632 | Permanent | Fully Remote / Home Based
For the UK's largest not-for-profit social enterprise in the employment and social mobility sector, we are recruiting a Financial Reporting Accountant. This role will ensure all subsidiaries of the Group are following correct accounting standards and will lead on year-end accounting, Audit activity, external reporting and the preparation of consolidated accounts. There is also the opportunity to work on a VAT optimisation project for a new entity. This role will suit someone who is fully qualified, happy to work fully remotely, and with experience of financial reporting within multiple entities.
Main Duties:
- Prepare statutory year-end accounts across the Group companies
- Preparation of the Group consolidations
- Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations across the group companies
- Preparation of reporting and financial information for internal and external stakeholders
- Work with Auditors as and when required
- Support a new VAT project focused on VAT optimisation within a new entity
- Ensure all financial software systems have strong controls
- Drive continuous improvement in processes
- Ensure financial implications of all new policies are correctly interpreted and implemented
Person Specification:
- ACA or ACCA Qualified
- Substantial experience of preparing final accounts and consolidation for a group of entities
- Strong technical financial ability and experience of external financial reporting
- Ability to embrace change and drive continuous improvement
- Excellent Excel skills and ideally experience with Agresso Business World

Strong financial management is essential after a period of huge growth, as we work towards a new, sustainable funding model.
Working closely with the CEO, you’ll ensure adequate financial controls are in place and all underlying financial accounting information is accurate and up to date.
You’ll provide meaningful management reporting, forward projections, and strategic financial input. You’ll be a champion of efficient and user-friendly operational systems that support our governance.
Applicants must be organised and highly numerate with an eye for the detail and great communication skills. An aptitude for spreadsheet modelling is essential.
This role has recently evolved to have one report, a part-time finance admin role. As a relatively small but complex charity we feel there are real advantages in having this role undertake some of the bookkeeping as well as managing the finance admin to support this.

As the Trusts and Fundraising Officer, you will maximise income from trusts by the creation of high-quality applications and reports to funders, and by providing excellent account management and cross-team collaboration. You will proactively identify trusts and research them for suitability and communicate and build relationships with their funders through emails, letters, telephone calls, service visits and face to face engagements.
To be successful as the Trusts and Fundraising Officer, you will have demonstrable experience in writing successful applications and securing four or five figure grants from trusts and foundations. You will have excellent research skills, which can be applied to identification of suitable new prospects for their funding pipeline.
This role is a full-time permanent position will ideally have hybrid working in their Amersham office, but they could consider homebased with occasional travel to their offices. The salary for this role is £27,000 to £30,000 per annum.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Healthier Places team. We are looking for a Graduate Engineer, to support in the delivery of our innovative programme of people-focused street and route design.
As a transport charity, the focus of the work will be the integration of Engineering and Placemaking as an integral part of Active Travel infrastructure projects. The principle objective of these projects will be to encourage higher levels of walking and cycling and the creation of equitable and accessible environments for all.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary design and engineering team, working on projects funded by Welsh Government, Transport for Wales, Welsh Local Authorities and engaging with diverse communities across Wales.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you
