The Finance Officer will be a key member of the Finance Transactions Team and will undertake a varied and interesting range of income, rebilling and cash collection tasks.
The post -holder will assist in ensuring all invoices are issued in a timely manner and for maintaining the debtor ledger.

What you'll do:
* Process all periodic and adhoc invoices for contracts, rebilling other activities undertaken by the business, on the invoicing system (CSB) per the required timescales
* Liaise with colleagues in the business to establish correct invoice data and required supporting information
* Assist with updating customer data including contact and address information on CSB and SUN
* Provide debt analysis ( spreadsheet and/or reports generated by the arrears management module (Collect Plus) ), as required
* Monitor the Rebilling and Income mailboxes and deal with queries and invoice requests promptly and effectively
* Assist in the provision of an effective credit control function by following established procedures to ensure prompt collection of Look Ahead's debts
* Assist with the allocation of payments by identifying cash received
* Participate in the periodic reconciliation of debtor accounts
* Maintain the invoice registers on an on-going basis
* Run month end reports and extract information as necessary.

What we’re looking for in our ideal Head of Advocacy and External Affairs:
Essential
- Experience in public affairs, advocacy or external affairs
- Experience of influencing public policy and/or parliamentary business
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, or similar ability gained through work experience relevant to the role
- Excellent understanding of national government, political and legislative processes
Personal attributes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a proven ability to write confidently and concisely for a variety of audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders including members, partners and officials
- Exceptional organisational and project management skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media and media monitoring tools

About the role:
This role is based in Preston.
As a Caseworker you will be:
- Effectively manage a caseload of self-referrals or referred service users.
- Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service.
- Undertake risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of the client.
- Provide information and advocacy.
- Identify barriers to individuals accessing our services and determine solutions.
- To work alongside a team of staff to reflect the diverse community and the needs of victims.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships and promote effective communication between staff and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
You will need:
- Understanding of the impact of crime on victims.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering services.
- Using generic IT applications competently.
- Understanding of practical application of equal opportunities and diversity and inclusivity.
- Ability to balance competing needs and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain professional boundaries.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirement for confidentiality and safe working practices, maintaining records in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
- Clean driving licence.
