Summary
The role of Personal Assistant to The Bishop of Kikrstall provides effective support to the Bishop of Kirkstall, by dealing proactively with diary matters, correspondence and enquiries. Ensuring that the Bishop is well prepared for services, meetings and events. Working with the Bishop to pastorally care for the clergy and people of the Leeds Episcopal Area.
Background Information
The Bishop of Kikrstall is one of five area bishops working with the Bishop of Leeds as part of the Diocese Of Leeds. Each Bishop has a part-time PA with whom they build a strong working relationship and rely on to provide administrative and PA support for their roles.
The postholder manages the Bishop's Office and ensures that work for the Bishop of Kirkstall is completed to a high standard. The PA is usually the first point of contact with the Bishop's Office and provides PA and administration for the Bishop. This includes prioritising mail and messages, organising the Bishop's diary, drafting replies and/or briefing papers as appropriate, producing communication and paperwork around Bishop's appointments in a timely manner, attending and arranging events and meetings and in general ensuring that the Bishop is properly resourced and supported in his work. There is a high degree of confidentiality in this work.
The PA has key working relationships with other senior staff in the Diocese, particularly the Bishops, Archdeacons, Area Deans and staff at the Episcopal Area Office in Church House in Leeds City Centre.
What you'll be doing
- Respond to telephone enquiries - providing information, using judgement in directing calls and ensuring that appropriate information is brought to the Bishop's attention.
- Arrange confirmations and licensing dates for clergy working with the Archdeaon of Leeds PA and the Bishop of Leeds' office.
- Make arrangements for the Bishop's travel, including providing maps and directions
- Welcome visitors to the Bishop's Office and ensure that they are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner
- Assist where necessary in the making and serving of refreshments to visitors
- Manage the Bishop's working expenses using good judgement
You will need to have/be:
- Educated to A Level standard or with relevant secretarial qualifications and equivalent work experience
- Experience of working in an administrative capacity in an office environment
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written), including good telephone skills
- Proficient IT skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Outlook) and ability to use databases to search and record work

Purpose of the Job
Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind deliver a range of services for children and young people from 5+. We have two Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs), and some specialist inclusion, community, creative and partnership work. We are looking for someone to look after and manage our programmes that support inclusion for children, young people and families throughout our boroughs for a one year maternity cover (depending on start date). You will ensure that our specialist inclusion services continue to grow and work to support the development of new inclusion programmes. Children and young people with special educational needs, neurodiversity and disabilities will continue to be the priority for this role, and you will work closely with our existing services to ensure they meet the additional needs of the communities we serve.
Job Summary
The role includes:
- Line management to specialist ASC/LD practitioners; assistant psychologists and music/creative based programme team
- Support the wider team and organisation to ensure all provision is inclusive and meets additional needs
- Develop our SEND and inclusion programme within the MHST, and throughout CYP Services
- Overseeing and developing our trauma-informed approach to work
- Build and hold relationships with the Local Authority (in particular Hammersmith and Fulham), local schools (especially SEND and alternative provision) and communities who may not access mental health services.
- Tailor services to reach young people who may be disengaged from school, have specific additional needs or diagnoses.
- Liaise with commissioners within the NHS and other funders
- Write reports for commissioners and other stakeholders (e.g. monitoring reports, Key Line of Enquiry documents)
- Work closely with the Mental Health Support Teams (schools) service manager and clinical lead
- Ensuring service meets all targets.
- Building on an existing programme and expanding the service to meet additional identified needs
Person specification:
Knowledge & Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience of supporting young people with a variety of needs, including neurodiversity or learning disabilities, ideally within a mental health context
- A related professional qualification and registration (but please consider applying without this qualification if you have extensive experience)
- At least 2 years’ of management experience within a relevant service
- Detailed understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people from a range of under-served communities
- Experience of working on (ideally managing) a commissioned service within a Third Sector Organisation
- Experience in delivering a service within budget and meeting all KPIs and contract requirements.
- An understanding and commitment to trauma-informed practice (ideally with a related qualification)

About the post
nia is recruiting for a Young Women and Girls Advocate as part of a pan-London project for minoritised young women and girls. The CouRAGEus project is a partnership between 12 leading organisations (WGN, Ashiana, IKWRO, London Black Women’s Project, Solace Women’s Aid, nia, Southall Black Sisters, Respond, Jewish Women’s Aid, Galop, Advance and Imkaan) in the VAWG sector established to provide advocacy, specialist mental health advocacy, counselling, VAWG awareness and well-being programs for minority young women and girls experiencing violence against women and girls, mental health and/or multiple disadvantages.
The post is currently funded until March 2027. In the role of Young Women and Girls Advocate you will hold a caseload of minoritised young women and girls aged 14-24 years old who have been subjected to sexual violence. You will work from a trauma-informed feminist framework, recognising multiple and overlapping oppressions. You will support those whose choose to report through the criminal justice process. In addition, the role involves providing broader support to young women and girls to address the multiple impacts of VAWG. The advocate will work with the wider young women’s team to deliver group work and prevention activities.

You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

Pregnancy Options Centre (Options) are seeking a Fundraising and Marketing Officer to raise funds for our counselling and education services: supporting people in crisis or distress around unplanned pregnancy or pregnancy loss experiences and educating the next generation on matters surrounding sexual health and healthy relationships. The post-holder will be responsible for raising funds from grants/trusts applications, and for developing and maintaining donor relationships. They will also take the lead on marketing the charity through social media, publicity and our website.
Pregnancy Options Centre provides free, non-directive help and support to anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy or struggling following an abortion or pregnancy loss. We offer a safe, non-judgemental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings surrounding their situation and experiences. Alongside our counselling service, our Education project delivers interactive workshops to young people on topics surrounding healthy sex and relationships, self-esteem and the three options following an unplanned pregnancy: abortion, adoption and parenting.
Fundraising and Marketing Officer Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Finance:
- To carry out and contribute to the fundraising strategy
- Write comprehensive and compelling funding applications to Trusts and Foundations, tailoring them to meet a range of criteria
- To research and develop new funders to support the achievement of fundraising goals
- Build, nurture and maintain positive relationships with current funders, corporates and donors by stewarding them well.

- Work with the CEO to devise supporter care procedures for donors to ensure they feel valued by their interactions with us.

To collaborate with the Head of Publishing Operations (HoPO) and the Publishing Platform Manager (PPM) working on the range of publishing systems utilized in-house for the successful publication of the Society’s portfolio of titles, from submission through peer review to final online publication.
Key accountabilities
Manuscript submission system administration:
- Implementing workflow and development updates within our chosen ‘manuscript submission, reviewing and production tracking’ system.
- Overseeing and troubleshooting day-to-day issues with the manuscript submission system and its linked third-party vendors.
- Work with colleagues to assess any new opportunities for digital solutions (such as research integrity tools) within the STM publishing arena.

Advocacy Caseworker (full-time)
You’ll be assigned a case-load of clients who you will advocate for in different kinds of support they need.
The Centre is open between 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday. Your normal working hours will be 36 hours per week i.e. 5 days per week.
