JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a maternity cover for our Trust & Foundations Manager role. Passionate about Trust Fundraising at a high level and about UNHCR’s work, this role is involved in the cultivation and stewardship of some our biggest and most established trust and foundation donors.
You will join our small but talented Philanthropy Team supporting on identifying and bringing on board new and prospective trust and foundation supporters, and securing repeat income from key relationships.
You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate donor relationships. An experienced fundraiser, you will provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme.
You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing prospect pipelines and crafting compelling donor communications.
This role is also responsible for managing the Senior Trusts and Foundations Officer and will provide support, mentorship and coaching to help the development of this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage the Senior Officer working on trusts and foundations.
- Work as part of the Philanthropy Team to develop new opportunities with trusts and foundation donors in line with UK for UNHCR’s fundraising strategy, achieving six figure income targets.
- Support the development and management of a robust prospect pipeline and a calendar of opportunities for grant submissions, engagement, cultivation and stewardship of donors.
- Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors.
- Craft compelling propositions and proposals for trusts and foundation donors and ensure quality and timely reporting on donations made.
- Establish a strategic and tactical response to selected prospects and existing trust and foundation donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
- Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospective donors.
- Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, for income recording and earmarking.
- Work with the wider team to deliver bespoke trust and foundation activities including virtual and in-person events.
- Help to position and raise awareness of UK for UNHCR’s role among peers, donors and other audiences by participating in sector networks and representing UK for UNHCR at events, as appropriate.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience
- Experience of working in an income generating capacity within an NGO, INGO or fundraising organisation to identify, approach, secure and steward trusts & foundation gifts at the five, six and seven figure gift level.
- Experience of developing donor care plans and delivering bespoke proposals and communications to generate income.
- Experience of managing a prospect pipeline.
- Experience working on complex proposals involving multiple stakeholders.

Main duties of the job
As Trusts, Foundations and Statutory Fundraiser, you will proactively and independently manage relationships, reporting and application cycles for Trusts, Foundations, and Statutory Funders, adhering to all deadlines to maximise income generation. You will write high quality and compelling proposals to attract new and significant sources of funding. Working closely with colleagues in the programme management team you will identify projects suitable for prospective funders. Using the information provided, build compelling and persuasive applications and cases for support. You will monitor the ongoing progress of programme activities, outcomes, and finances and report back to funders, highlighting any changes as soon as possible.

We are expanding this vital role and looking for a full-time Money Course Coordinator to match our ambitious plans to equip more individuals with money skills. The primary purpose of this role is to manage Crosslight’s money skills courses that are attended by the local community as well as our debt advice clients. These are delivered in-person or online, taking place in a range of different locations across our network.
This role will involve taking ownership of the planning and running of our free and paid-for courses in all their forms. NAPAC provides the only free national support service for adult survivors of all types of childhood abuse. We offer specialist, confidential support to all adult survivors of any type of abuse, operated by experienced staff and trained volunteers.

As a support line Call Handler, you will be a key member of our dedicated team, providing emotional support and a safe environment for callers with a wide range of complex issues.
NAPAC offers full training and hands-on support for call handlers with every call they receive. You will use the knowledge and skills you’ve developed through our training to explore issues relating to childhood abuse and it how it effects adulthood and signpost callers to relevant resources and services that can provide more in-depth support. Calls are caller-led, and you will be there to empower each caller to take back control in their lives.

We are seeking a bright and hardworking person to help our events team organise interesting, informative and impactful discussions between leading policy experts and high-profile politicians.
Reporting to the Head of Events and Partnerships, you will help us arrange panel discussions, speeches and policy roundtables, which take place online, in-person and hybrid. You will also contribute to our busy programme across the Liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative Party Conferences in the autumn. Speakers at SMF events in 2024 have included a number of high-profile politicians including the Employment Minister, Schools Minister and former Shadow Secretary of State for Education and the Minister for Gambling. Topics covered have included transport poverty, student mental health, farmed animal welfare, economic fraud, pensions, social mobility, and prisoner rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will be expected to attend and support with the SMF’s events at future Autumn party conferences, for which some weekend and evening work may be required.
The duties of the Events Officer will include, but not be limited to:
- Supporting the SMF’s events team with the operational management of the SMF’s events in Westminster and at the political party conferences – these include; report launches, panel debates, seminars, dinners and expert roundtables.
- Researching and managing bookings for external venues, AV, catering, staff travel and accommodation

Standard SMF working hours are 9.30am-6pm, Monday to Friday. We actively encourage flexible working and working patterns which are different to these hours. INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE
This role sits within the global communications team – part of the External Engagement directorate – at Girls Not Brides and will report to the Communications Manager. This position will play a pivotal role in supporting the organisation to reach strategic audiences, shaping conversations around ending child marriage, and positioning Girls Not Brides and our members as thought leaders. This role will shape our engagement with media as key strategic influencers and partners to advance the ending child marriage agenda, with a focus on global and cross-regional outlets.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to identify opportunities to engage media in order to influence powerholders and to shape the global and cross-regional narrative around child marriage. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely response to breaking news, ensuring adherence to internal procedures and processes.

The Role
The Development Officer (Annual Giving) plays a critical role in generating philanthropic support for the College from alumni and well-wishers. About The Rufford Foundation
The Rufford Foundation is a grant-making charity that provides funding for nature conservation programmes and projects.
The flagship Rufford Small Grants Programme awards funding to individuals working in developing countries who are starting on the ladder of conservation research and establishing pilot programmes. Since its inception in 1999, the Rufford Small Grants Programme has given over £37 million through more than 6,100 grants to projects in over 150 countries. The programme identifies scientists and practitioners at the early stages of their careers and provides targeted support to enable them to achieve their goal of making a difference in terms of conservation. In 2023, we started to pilot our Organisational Grants funding stream to provide core, multi-year funding to small local NGOs to help them strengthen their financial and institutional capacity to ensure long-term viability.
This is an exciting time to join The Rufford Foundation, as the postholder will play an essential role in encouraging grantees to apply for further funding. This new role will sit within the conservation team to coordinate the delivery and oversight of Rufford Small Grants.
Rufford Small Grants are renowned for being an important milestone in the careers of conservationists and researchers who may have limited experience in designing and delivering projects. We are very aware that unforeseen issues may arise and are considerate towards requests for project changes. The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer will review all project updates and reports to track project changes and to monitor project delivery against proposed plans.
The Rufford Foundation is involved with other conservation donors and practitioners looking at the evidence of conservation effectiveness and supporting learning from success and failure. We fully understand that conservation projects may not succeed as planned and that evaluating small grant project impacts over short timescales (1-3 years) is problematic. The MEL Officer will take this into account when reviewing project progress and evaluation reports.
The ideal candidate will bring previous experience of reviewing (or drafting) donor reports, have excellent analytical and communications skills and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of biodiversity conservation, ideally with some practical knowledge of conservation in countries where the foundation funds projects. Experience of coordinating work with grantees, including review of workplans, deliverables and budgets, would be highly desirable.
We are keen for the MEL Officer to use their expertise to design a MEL framework to help our grantees with their project proposals, and The Rufford Foundation to evaluate the impact of work across the Rufford Small Grant and Organisational Grant portfolios. The MEL Officer may also support grantees with their own project evaluations.
Principal Responsibilities
Rufford Small Grants
- Review narrative and financial reports for Rufford Small Grant projects, including comparative analysis of results versus original proposals.
- Draft brief summaries of the results of each project, highlighting project changes and outcomes, sharing these with colleagues in writing and at team meetings.
- Compile key achievements delivered through Rufford Small Grant projects.
- Make recommendations for Rufford staff to follow-up with grantees about further Rufford Small Grant funding.
- Work with colleagues to develop reporting guidelines and update our reporting templates.
- Support grantees with understanding and meeting Rufford reporting requirements – this might be done through online or in-person meetings with individuals or groups.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grant-related activities specifically related to the review of Rufford Small Grant project reports.
- Using background material drafted as part of a recent consultancy, to develop high-level indicators for conservation and capacity building, lead in formalising an evaluation framework for The Rufford Foundation across all grant-making.

Experience

LOCAL ENGAGEMENT OFFICER
WATERLOO FOODBANK, OASIS HUB WATERLOO
FULL TIME, 40 HOURS PER WEEK
FIXED TERM CONTRACT (15 months)
SALARY: £29,296 per annum
We have a unique opportunity for a Local Engagement Officer to join the Foodbank Team as part of our organising and local mobilisation strategy. This role will create real impact in Waterloo by identifying local issues driving poverty, and developing a strategy to build influence and win change.
We’re looking for an individual who has a passion for justice and compassion for all to take on this exciting role. You’ll need to be an effective communicator and ready to tackle big issues with drive and initiative. Best of all, you’ll be supported by a thriving team of people who are dedicated to ending poverty in Lambeth, as well as by the Trussell– the largest national network of foodbanks. Waterloo Foodbank (a part of the Lambeth Foodbanks Partnership) provides emergency food support to individuals and families in our community who are struggling with the cost-of-living and acute financial crises. This role will support our strategic anti-poverty work as part of our vision to end the need for foodbanks in Waterloo.
Key responsibilities of this role will be:
· To explore and understand the experiences that are bringing people to need the foodbank’s support, working with a variety of local stakeholders including foodbank clients
· To develop and manage a team of volunteers with the aim of identifying a local issue and campaigning for change
· To develop strategic relationships with key partners of Waterloo Foodbank
· To feed into our wider strategic work including our 3-year participation targets and strategic communications
· To work and engage with the Trussell Trust’s Organising and Local Mobilisation team, and their central campaign activities
· To represent the vision, mission, and values of Waterloo Foodbank and of Oasis Hub Waterloo
The successful post holder must have:
· Good standard of basic education, including English and Maths Level 2
· Experience facilitating groups and organising engaging group activities
· Experience managing and working with volunteers
· Good project management skills, able to balance a range of priorities.
