This position reports directly to the Senior Fundraising & Marketing Manager, sharing collective responsibility to deliver Beechwood’s mission in supporting those affected by cancer and in attracting and growing fundraising income to achieve this.
You will lead on developing and delivering the departmental strategy and identify new propositions and campaigns to grow and diversify activities and income. You will review our existing portfolio of fundraising events and develop community fundraising initiatives and awareness of the Charity across local areas.
The successful candidate will require the confidence and people skills to develop new and existing corporate supporter relationships, together with sponsorship opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising, Development, and Income Generation
- Assist in developing and delivering the fundraising strategy to raise awareness and to achieve agreed income targets across a range of revenue streams including corporate partnerships, trusts and grants, fundraising events, community fundraising, individual giving, legacies and digital fundraising.
- To maximise growth opportunities for current partnerships and event sponsors.
- To research identify and develop potential new supporters, sponsors or major donors.
- Nurture and manage a range of external relationships, with an ability to speak confidently and to give presentations.
- Ensure all supporter and donor data is captured on the in-house CRM system and all other fundraising and supporter records are up to date.
- Ensure fundraising Gift Aid is recorded accurately, records maintained, and claims filed in a timely manner.
- Ensure fundraising and event expenditure is within agreed budgets and report on all events/ROI.
- Oversee the fundraising pipeline to ensure targets are achievable and quality is maintained, producing monthly reports for the CEO, Board of Trustees and Head of Finance.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, contributing to the sharing of knowledge and experience and the development of Beechwood and its profile.
- Nurture and develop fundraising volunteers.
Marketing & Communications
- To ensure fundraising events and community supporters are recognised and thanked on appropriate social media channels, contributing to the writing of content when required.
- To ensure all social media is relevant and always reflects the Charity positively.
- To ensure all communications are well written, accurate and presented in a way that reflects the Charity’s image and purpose.

A key part of this strategy will be to invest in our fundraising team to achieve transformational growth in voluntary income in the next 10 years. To support this growth, we are looking for a Fundraising Grants Officer to play a crucial role in raising income from potential funders.
Reporting to and working closely with our Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will be part of the philanthropy team and will make a significant contribution to delivering ambitious income generation plans from a range of income streams. Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our research projects and research funding plans.
- Develop a pipeline of low value-high volume applications to Trusts & Foundations; research, tailor templates and submit applications.
- Work closely with the Senior Philanthropy Manager on the development of a new programme of high value-low volume applications to Trusts & Foundations and support the submission of applications.
- Undertake research to identify individuals with an interest in medical research to support the development of a Major Donor fundraising programme.
- Undertake research on companies and assess their potential for partnership to support the development of a Corporate Partnerships programme.
- Organise meetings and events for prospective supporters and provide briefings for colleagues and senior volunteers.
- Work with the communications team to develop compelling case for support documents and other donor materials to attract support for our research projects.
- Manage and maintain records and monitor progress of applications and relationships, including working to agreed KPIs and ROI.

We will offer you
We will offer a salary of between £29,000 and £34,000 depending on experience for a 36-hour week and double-matched pension contributions up to 10% max employer contribution. We would like a full-time employee but are happy to consider a part-time contract (min 0.8 FTE). We offer 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata) per year, excellent financial, health and social benefits and an opportunity to join a dedicated team making a difference to human health. We value spending time working in-person to develop strong connections with each other and with our mission, so you will be based at our central London office for a minimum of three days a week with the option to work remotely for the remainder.

The Role

As Supporter Development Officer, you will deliver campaigns and activities for the Supporter Development side of the Individual Giving team, successfully managing the supporter development activity in line with the agreed annual targets and the Fundraising Strategy. Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Managing integrated donor journeys on channels such as online, post and social, with a donor centric approach.
- Inputting into and delivering the Fundraising Strategy within the Supporter Development Team.
- Working within the Supporter Development Team to deliver a donor centric lifetime value optimised approach.
- Report on the targets and KPIs of campaign activity.
- Applying a test and learn strategy for supporter journeys, and sharing learnings with the Supporter Development Team, upskilling team knowledge and experience within key areas of delivery.
- Project managing campaigns and activity including expenditure budgets.

About You
You will have:
- Demonstrable experience in managing fundraising or customer service campaigns and Activities.
- Project management experience.

- Experience in managing direct marketing budgets and supporting direct marketing analysis to enhance the performance of channels, products, and specific appeals.
- Knowledge and experience of CRM systems.

Working as part of a small team in our office in Southampton, you will be responsible for providing regular telephone support to a caseload of women. About the role:
The successful applicant will work alongside our Trustees, our CEO and our existing Head of Fundraising and Communications in a jobshare to meet challenging fundraising targets. Job Description
The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Essex and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information.
The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support. You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.
The main responsibilities of the post are:
• To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.
• To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone.
• To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.
• To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.
• To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.
• To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.
• To assist survivors and relatives/supporters of survivors in understanding the range of resources and services available to them.
• To support service users to engage effectively with appropriate services to meet their individual needs and aspirations.
• To work as a link between clients, CARA staff and external agencies, ensuring appropriate information is passed on.
• To work closely with the Essex-wide team of First Contact Navigators and Information and Referral Coordinators to ensure effective referral processes across Essex.
