Job summary 

We're looking for an ambitious and talented Head of Public Fundraising join our team. As a member of the extended leadership team, you'll inspire and lead a talented team of fundraisers committed to growing income from community, events fundraising and individual giving (including legacies). A highly motivated, creative team player with a strong track record of success, you'll support our fantastic public fundraising team to take these vital income areas to the next level and beyond. 

You’ll have a solid understanding and experience of one or more public fundraising income areas, be adept at identifying and creating opportunities for income growth and be able to communicate with a wide range of audiences, organisations and stakeholders — internally and externally. An understanding of health and medical causes would be beneficial but certainly not essential. We’re very happy to support the career development of somebody stepping up into their first ‘head of’ role and will also consider applications from someone who is already in a Head of role seeking to increase their remit across a greater number of fundraising areas. Most importantly, however, is your understanding of public fundraising alongside your passion to support the charity to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. 

Head of Finance

We are looking for a Head of Finance, in this is a newly created post, following a period of review within Finance and Systems. Set within an innovative, young-person centred charity and the wider network, this role is ideal for an individual who is an experienced charity accountant and loves improving finance systems and processes, with a desire to lead an enthusiastic Finance Team.

This is a permanent role offering hybrid working.

Position: Head of Finance

Location: Hybrid working: two days a week in either the Bolton or London offices (based in White City) combined with home-working and travel across our Youth Zone network as required.

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent 

Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for someone who has the ambition to strive for the very best in all areas of finance, who is able to drive innovative systems developments and inspire others to adopt new ways of working, across a growing network of youth charities. 

We are looking for an individual who has sound technical knowledge of current accounting regulations, combined with the ability to communicate financial information to a wide variety of people, some with no financial background and others who are experienced professionals. 

As a growing and ambitious charity, you will have responsibility, variety and the chance to work with a team wholly invested in providing young people the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

About You

You will have accounting experience at management level within a charity setting and full working knowledge of preparing management accounts, budget setting and forecasting.

You will also have significant experience of the maintenance and administration of financial and reporting systems including identifying improvements to processes and managing system updates.  Knowledge of Sage and Xero software, Excel and other appropriate financial packages are essential.

Conversant with the requirements of SORP 2015, and other relevant legislation, when preparing charity accounts (training can be provided), you will have experience in annual audits, within either a company or charity setting (guidance can be provided).

Evening / Night Assistant Domestic Abuse Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for an Evening / Night Assistant Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join the team on a permanent basis following the successful acquisition of a new Refuge service in Ellesmere Port. This is part time role, working 20.5 hours per week on a rota basis.

The role

• To accept new referrals and complete move in procedures for new clients, including supporting flat turnarounds, cleaning, and re-stock to ensure there is no delay in accommodation any referral.
• Ensure the upkeep and security of the building and take responsibility for any cash and equipment.
• Maintaining an understanding and awareness of and adhering to all support plans and risk assessments and to update the Domestic Abuse Support Worker (DASW) of changes to risk or incidents.
• To provide feedback to the DASW regarding tenant's SMART plans and aims achieved, recorded documentation on client database.
• To complete risk assessments for activities both 1-1 and group work, incorporating safety planning, reviewing on a regular basis.
• To work with clients and other staff to devise an annual plan for client involvement, to actively engage the individuals and families within the Ellesmere Port DA safe accommodation service, promoting lived experience involvement in service delivery and improvement.
• Facilitate evening group work and promote, monitor and evaluate involvement sessions in conjunction with the people using services.
• To work in-line with the project's budget, adhering to financial policies and procedures.
• To monitor the security and safety of the premises on an ongoing basis, including CCTV, front door entry system and alarm system.
• To be responsible and accountable for the efficient recording, storing and maintaining of client records including contact notes, correspondence, incident reporting, handovers, risk updates and outcomes achieved.
• Record and manage any anti-social behaviour or neighbour nuisance and respond appropriately according to escalation procedure.
• Address any instances of non-engagement or perceived obstacles to support via a trauma informed approach.
• To actively promote the service and the organisation.

The candidate

• Relevant qualification in Domestic Abuse / IDVA / ISVA or equivalent diploma / degree / NVQ 3 or equivalent work level experience and the willingness to achieve a level 3 qualification.
• An extensive understanding of individuals and families who have or are experiencing domestic abuse.
• Knowledge of working as part of a team, working on own initiative and managing time effectively.
• Ability and knowledge of planning, promoting, or delivering group work sessions with evaluation.
• Knowledge of providing support on agreed outcomes of assessment support plans.
• Knowledge of assessing and implementing risk assessments, including DASH Ric.

Grandmentors

Grandmentors is a national volunteering programme where older volunteers (aged 50+) use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor vulnerable young adults leaving the care system. These young adults often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – ultimately giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives.

Volunteers meet with a young adult regularly to boost their confidence and work towards goals, which are unique to each person.

Role Purpose

We are recruiting two part-time Project Coordinators to effectively deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project in Wiltshire, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The postholders will work alongside teams within Wiltshire Council and with local volunteers to ensure that we improve the lives of care experienced young people (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Effectively manage the service to ensure it meets agreed targets and millstones.
• Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and local authority staff.
• Ensure volunteers are recruited, appropriately trained, and supported in their role; this will involve processing volunteer expenses, DBS checks and maintaining databases.
• Ensure regular communication between project staff and volunteers is maintained and that regular supervision for volunteers is provided.
• Work with your line manager to ensure project expenditure is in line with the budget.
• Maintain accurate records on all aspects of the project and submit data onto a secure system.
• Manage and maintain effective monitoring and evaluation records to capture impact and outcomes and ensure contractual compliance.

• To implement and maintain appropriate risk assessment management processes.
• Prepare impact and progress reports for both internal and external purposes.

We have since implemented training directly from SCMHT to support staff with understanding Mental Health diagnosis and Managing Crisis with our customers in-house.

You will be based at Hope House. We have two sites: Hope House and Doddsfield Rd. Hope House/ Place is a 10 bed supported housing service, providing support for 16 customers overall. The support hours for Hope House are 24 hours, 7 days a week, with one waking night.

Doddsfield Rd has 6 independent living flats with floating support.

What you'll do:

- Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/ Manager.
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions.

The Head of Finance will lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. The role:

• Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organisation’s visions e.g. treasury management, developing long term cashflow strategies to maximise returns to the organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director of Locality Impact our Locality Impact Directorate is responsible for the effective delivery of high quality commissioned and non-commissioned support to stroke survivors and carers. We provide a range of support for people from the early days after stroke throughout their recovery and into the longer term, working closely with our network of volunteers, Stroke Association support groups, and independent groups as part of the Stroke Group Network.

· Champion and support improvements to NHS stroke services, building effective relationships with key stakeholders and influencing local stroke policy and practice

· Increase the reach and impact of locality delivered services to ensure all new stroke survivors in the East of England receive the support they need to rebuild their lives after stroke

About You

You will have:

· Senior-level experience in advocacy/influencing; service delivery or community engagement and development.

· Senior level experience influencing local or national policy change, ideally in health and social care.

· Substantial experience of holding senior-level relationships with partner organisations, ideally in health and social care / the NHS and a strong understanding of systems leadership.

East London Apartments provides 24 hour accommodation based support for up to 31 individuals with complex histories, multiple traumas, complex personality disorder(s) and a varied, disrupted housing history with experience of homelessness as well as individuals who have been diagnosed with severe and enduring mental health conditions who are under the Care Programme Approach (CPA).

East London Apartments implements and promotes the Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) model. This is an approach which was developed to support people out of homelessness, in particular those who have experienced complex trauma or are diagnosed with a personality disorder. However, its application is far broader than only homelessness. It considers the psychological needs of staff: developing skills and knowledge, increasing motivation, job satisfaction and resilience.

When working with individuals with complex needs, who may display challenging, chaotic behaviours, regularly testing boundaries and have experienced multiple traumas as a result of abuse, neglect, years of street homelessness, or long stays in mental health hospitals, it is integral that the post holder is motivated to support individuals to progress. They should continually hold aspirations for individuals despite multiple setbacks, and display emotional resilience, able to process challenging incidents and remain motivated to deliver excellent support.

Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the particular post.

As the Specialist Support Worker Housing Lead you will lead on the management of hoarding, self-neglect, and skills related to independent living. You will lead on the Move On process for customers and will liaise with external partners. You will therefore be in charge of building support packages and transition plans to assist customers to exit the service with the support they need. You will also provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Provision of care and support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support. Post holders will deliver support to a caseload of up to 6 service users with needs aligned to their specialism - caseload is subject to change depending on the service needs.

We are currently recruiting for 3 Evening / Night Assistant Domestic Abuse Support Workers to join the team on a permanent basis following the successful acquisition of a new Refuge service in Rochdale. This is part time role, working 16.33 hours per week on a 3-week rolling rota.

The role

• To accept new referrals and complete move in procedures for new clients, including supporting flat turnarounds, cleaning, and re-stock to ensure there is no delay in accommodation any referral.
• Ensure the upkeep and security of the building and take responsibility for any cash and equipment.
• Maintaining an understanding and awareness of and adhering to all support plans and risk assessments and to update the Domestic Abuse Support Worker (DASW) of changes to risk or incidents.
