The Head of Individual Giving will provide strategic leadership to the Individual Giving team and leading a programme set to raise £4.1m this year. • Develop and deliver a multi-year IG strategy to grow the active donor base, maximising long term sustainable income from all individual giving income streams.

• Take an active role in contributing to the development of the Charity’s wider Income Generation and Engagement Strategy, ensuring a seamless approach to lifetime supporter engagement. This includes working proactively with the wider team to develop and refine an engaging case for support to represent the Charity’s programmes authentically.
• Manage an experienced team of 3 direct reports, leading on the development of an optimal team structure and ethos to hit ambitious income targets.
• Develop the legacy strategy including case for support, stewardship and marketing plans to engage both known and unknown supporters including members, philanthropists, financial supporters, followers and advocates.
• Contribute to a culture that embraces change, open communication, ambition, innovation, future-thinking and external focus.

About the role:

The Regional Finance Director will provide the overall leadership and management for all aspects of finance to Ark Schools in the South London region. The role will be focused on ensuring processes are embedded across all schools; supporting schools new to the network (or with new staff structures) with transition as well as leading, with regard to finance, on strategic projects within the schools.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Key Responsibilities: 

• To be responsible for all aspects of finance at the academies and developing the in-school finance teams to provide a high-level service to their principals and operations leads

• To be responsible directly to the Schools Finance Director for the strategic financial management in all schools in the region

• To ensure clear and timely management and financial accounts as required for the Regional Director, Principals, Local Governing Bodies, and Ark Central
• To work with the Operations Leads to negotiate, manage and monitor contracts, tenders and agreements for the provision of services to the Academies, to ensure that services are delivered to a high quality and support the operation of the Academies
• To work with the HR Business Partner to oversee all matters relating to payroll, including Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs queries, National Insurance, benefits in lieu of pay (travel loans etc.), Give as You Earn scheme, and to ensure that appropriate controls are in place and robust checks are made in relation to the monthly payroll
• To be responsible for ensuring the region’s processes for pensions management and reporting are in place. This includes monthly and annual returns as well as audit, working with the HR Business Partner and school HR teams, as applicable
• To develop, enable and strategically lead a team of finance staff to deliver the vision for the region against its strategic priorities and timescales
• To arrange or deliver finance training for staff in South London, maintaining an on-going review of need

About the role

SolarAid are looking for an individual with experience of fundraising who can proactively engage, build relationships and provide high levels of stewardship to a variety of supporters, alongside increasing awareness of our work.

You will play a vital role in driving all supporter activities, such as direct mail Supporter appeals, our regular giving programme and supporting community groups and individuals with their fundraising.

Your focus will be to support all activities across Individual Giving, assisting in identifying, developing and supporting fundraising opportunities to maximise activity and income, alongside helping to create and maintain meaningful supporter journeys that strengthen the relationship between supporters and SolarAid.

About You

Interview information

Prospectus is excited to be supporting London’s Air Ambulance in their search for a Senior Direct Marketing Officer to join their team.

LAA’s vision is to end preventable deaths from trauma in the capital. To deliver this vision the Fundraising and Marketing team needs to deliver ambitious income targets – they have to raise £15 million every year to keep their life-saving service flying.

This is an exciting time to join London’s Air Ambulance Charity as they are launching a new 15-year strategy in early 2025 which will set the direction for the service until their 50th anniversary in 2039. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in creating processes from scratch and will allow you to get down to the basics, to help develop their strategy.

Working closely with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager, you will manage campaign activity, from briefing through to execution, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement within the Individual Giving programme, particularly with regards to retention and development of the supporter journey.

You will be responsible for multi-channel donor acquisition, retention, upgrade and cross-sell campaigns across digital channels, print, telephone and will provide occasional support to their successful Face to Face programme.

The charity is in a period of change as we have been growing quickly and there is huge scope with this role to make process improvements, test new initiatives and to support in the development of their new CRM (MS Dynamics).The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis with a salary of £37k.
