Purpose
The work of the Association is managed through our committees and working groups. The purpose of the role is to ensure good governance through supporting the chair of each committee to plan their meetings including creating agendas and notetaking for their meetings.
You may also work with other functions within the Association including publications and operations to support specific projects and tasks that help ensure we meet the needs of our members.
What you will be doing:

Support all committees and working groups which includes working with chairs and other relevant members of staff to set meeting dates, agree agendas, collate and circulate papers and write meeting notes and actions.

Build a relationship with committee and working group chairs and ensure they are using a consistent approach to their meetings including recording any declaration of interests, identifying and advertising vacancies and using a committee work plan to track their work.

Support any face-to-face meetings by setting up the room and managing catering for the meeting

Ensure all committees have up to date terms of reference and role descriptions for the Chairs

Ensure new Chairs and committee members receive the appropriate inductions
-
Responsible for the process of updating the CRM, website and any other relevant notifications for any changes of committee’s members

Support the Operations Manager with tasks including checking expense claims and invoices and setting up of payments

As we are a small staff team you will also be asked to support other team members with tasks outside of this job role from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

Take responsibility for the operational management of HSSW ensuring that the staff and financial resources are deployed effectively in line with budgets and funding requirements

Undertake the Strategic Lead role on ensuring the safeguarding and promotion of children’s welfare within the charity

Report to and support the Board of Trustees in ensuring the effective strategic management, development and future funding of the charity.

Ensure accurate records are maintained and readily accessible, enabling high standards of reporting and GDPR compliance

Ensure that HR practice meets current statutory requirements

Ensure that HSSW employees maintain high standards of practice in supporting families within the Home-Start model and that they adhere to HSSW policies and best practice

Work with the team to develop a culture of continuous improvement through effective feedback mechanisms; engaging with stakeholders to identify future needs and implement improvements.

Ensure all Home-Start policies, processes and procedures are implemented consistently and reviewed regularly, so that HSSW is viewed as a role model for best practice.

Ensure that HSSW meets or exceeds the Home-Start Quality Assurance standards and that any QA reviews mandated by HSUK are carried out in a timely manner.

Attend and present at all Board meetings, and other out of hours activities.

You will be part of a small team of specialists who lead, advise and support the business and help deliver our strategy.
With around 160 staff members the HR Team play a hugely important role in all aspects from recruitment to learning, wellbeing to pensions. It is a small team, and we need someone with experience to deal with the multiple facets of HR and someone who is a “doer”. This role will require an experienced HR generalist with some knowledge of payroll. First and foremost, the postholder will lead the HR systems and management activity across KSS and ensure with the support of the team that the Core People Tasks are fulfilled to a high standard each month. Therefore, great team management and organisational skills are essential.
Secondly, the postholder in partnership with the People Business Partner will support the senior leadership team, managers and staff throughout the organisation to deal with HR related matters in whatever form they take. Ideally you will have an overview of organisational design and procedures, which will allow you to act as an adviser to resolve staffing issues/conduct, absence and sickness management, recruitment and retention. Empathy and an understanding of the importance of process are important characteristics.
Thirdly, with the core tasks complete there is then freedom to develop our approach to HR, internal culture and learning and put your own stamp on KSS. The postholder will work closely with all business areas to align the HR strategies with the business goals and organisational culture. By developing meaningful organisational-related policies, practices, and processes and, working with internal stakeholders, the postholder will take the lead on business strategies that could focus on a myriad of areas such as culture development, learning, organisational effectiveness, EDI, employee engagement or reward. About the role
The Global Programmes Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Global Programmes Division, helping to keep it running smoothly and effectively. • PA Support: To provide PA support to the Director of the Department or Global Programme Executive Director, including proactive diary management, meeting organisation, processing expense claims, collating briefings and pre-reads for meetings, responding to internal and external enquiries and booking travel.
• Team Support: To help teams navigate the processes that will support and enable administrative self-sufficiency.
• Finance: To support the processing of invoices and respond to queries from department and finance colleagues as necessary.
• People & HR: To support divisional or departmental HR processes through data collection and database management of mandatory tasks and training, providing SME support to people managers leading recruitment for their teams, and coordinating induction processes for utilisation by people managers for new staff. May provide more direct support to recruitment processes led by Directors.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporter care and ideally have prior experience in a donor support role or experience in customer service, administration as well as data entry. Main duties of the job

- Maintain relationships through regular contact with donors throughout their fundraising journey offering any support or guidance needed to maximise their giving

- Build fantastic connections with patients, NHS staff, volunteers and our wider community to recruit new donors, fundraisers, volunteers and charity champions
- Support in growing the number of supporters playing the hospital lottery and those giving through our hospital ‘giving plaques
- Support all fundraising activity and represent the charity at events
- Manage and maintain the CRM system (donorfy) which includes entering all donor data including financial transactions and communications
- Send updates to supporters to retain and increase life-time value and reactivate lapsed donors
- Send donation reports to the charity team
- Make suggestions on how to improve supporter care and implement these ideas

ABOUT THE ROLE
Smart Works Bristol exists to empower all women who need heflp getting into work. We aim to support 1000 clients with our Interview and Preparation service per year. As such, we require vital funding from Grants, Trusts & Foundations to enable us to achieve our mission, and continued support to deliver our calendar of Corporate Events.
As our charity grows, we are seeking a Fundraising Manager to join our small and ambitious staff team. The successful post holder will be researching and building a strong pipeline of grant funders and five and six-figure gifts from Trusts & Foundations, including core funding and restricted funding.
This is a unique opportunity to work alongside our Board of Trustees to maximise local funding opportunities, expand our portfolio of grant funders, and contribute to a growth in income for the charity. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and identifying prospective funders, writing and submitting high-quality applications and proposals, and delivering excellent grant management and stewardship updates. They will also work closely with the Trustees to deliver an exciting calendar of corporate and community fundraising fashion events, and lead our corporate sports challenge.
We are seeking a proactive self-starter, with experience in philanthropic fundraising, excellent written communication skills and demonstrable attention to detail. We would also love to hear if you have experience working with grant applications and/or funding proposals, and utilising a range of tools to identify new funding opportunities.
Smart Works is a collaborative environment, with dynamic teams and ambitious plans across the UK. It is a rewarding national community with regular liaison to the London Charity Partnerships and Fundraising Team.
You will be based in our Bristol Centre. Some evening and weekend work is required to lead on philanthropic fundraising and support wider fundraising events such as Fashion Sales. Initially, this role will be primarily home-based until the Bristol centre is established.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the Head of Smart Works Bristol, the successful candidate will lead on a range of activities, including:
- Building excellent relationships with corporate and community partners, generating awareness and income of c. £165k for the centre across grants, events and corporate fundraising.
- Delivering financial activities to target, maintaining an up-to-date database with relevant income tracking and pipeline data to facilitate regular KPI and financial reporting to the Board of Trustees.
- Lead our annual signature corporate challenge to target income c. £50k, known as Step Up for Smart Works – managing the project locally from planning to delivery, including identifying and onboarding participant teams and their stewardship.
- Securing one-year and multi-year grants from a range of Trusts and Foundations, including traditional grant funders, local charities, family foundations and corporate foundations to meet income targets c. 50k.
- Researching and identifying prospective grant funders who could support Smart Works Bristol.
- Writing high-quality grant applications, working collaboratively with the Chair of the Board and staff team to deliver creative and compelling proposals for both core and restricted funding.
- Maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective funders, including the preparation of impact reports and sharing regular updates on grant management.
- Maintain an accurate data record of pledged, banked and prospective income for the Bristol centre, working in collaboration with Smart Works Charity to maintain local management accounts.
- Representing Smart Works Bristol to a diverse range of stakeholders and audiences to generate income and raise brand awareness within the local community.
- Support the Trustees with stewardship of fashion and retail partners, including venue and catering supporters, as well as our corporate partners supporting the charity.
- Support the delivery of our signature fundraising events, including high-end supporter events and fashion sales, where the Trustees manage the project from concept to execution and ensure income targets are met.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Essential Criteria:
- Extensive experience generating income of at least five figures from philanthropic income.
- Demonstrable experience securing corporate partnerships of five figures.
- Experience working with grant applications and/or funding proposals, and utilising a range of tools to identify new funding opportunities.

- Ability to prepare high-quality funding proposals and reports, adapting the communication style for different audiences and stakeholders to maximise impact.

The Boaz Trust is a Manchester-based charity that started 20 years ago as an outworking of the founder's Christian faith. Last year we provided trauma-informed and person-centred housing and support for more than 200 people facing homelessness after seeking safety in the UK through our floating support and 17 properties that we manage.
This new role is a key part of our strategy to increase our capacity to provide accommodation for more people in the Greater Manchester area working in partnership with GMCA and a range of local and national stakeholders. In the current climate, this work is needed more than ever. We are therefore looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to develop our accommodation services. The ideal candidate will have experience / knowledge of;
- procuring and managing accommodation services (including shared housing)
- social housing standards, regulations and other relevant housing legislation
- project, contract or budgetary management
- managing a team of staff and contractors
- building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, to increase impact and sustainability.
We are looking for someone with ambition and drive to build on our experience and reputation as well as getting involved in the day-to-day delivery of housing management in a small team.
