As a member of the UK Policy and Advocacy team, this role will be responsible for leading our policy work focusing on early childhood health and wellbeing. Working closely with colleagues across the Advocacy and Programmes Departments, the role will be expected to develop and deliver an effective influencing strategy, based on robust evidence and persuasive policy asks that help protect and promote the physical and mental health and wellbeing of babies and young children living in the UK. The Individual Giving Team have seen incredible growth over the last five years and we are excited to build on this with ambitious goals for where we see the programme in 2030 and beyond. Stewardship is a vital part of this ambition. We plan to recruit record numbers of supporters in the coming years and the stewardship team is essential for engaging these supporters and encouraging them to support us long term.
Within this role you will create inspiring supporter journeys for new and existing supporters using a variety of channels including direct mail, email, telephone and SMS. Reporting to The Executive Director you will take forward our fundraising strategy in our three key areas which grows our income and deepens relationships with our existing donors. About you

Many of these challenges are complex and long-term, and our systems change campaigning function works with colleagues across the RSPB to tackle them head on. We are recruiting for a Senior Campaigner in our Campaigning & Mobilisation department.
What’s the role about
Our systems change campaigns work tackles big, complex problems facing nature and climate over the long-term. The current focus is to drive systemic change that creates the right conditions for nature-friendly farming to prosper. You will focus campaigning pressure wherever it can be exerted to best effect – and not always at governments, but also at other key actors. Through the campaigns you develop you will help us realise large-scale positive change for nature and climate that builds and builds.
The campaigns you help develop will have multiple elements, offering our phenomenal supporters a range of ways to get involved. Their supporter journey will deepen engagement and empowerment of individual campaigners over time, equipping them to tackle these complex problems in their own way.
As part of a dispersed team, you could be based anywhere in the UK, so long as you’re able to travel to central locations to get together with colleagues, and on occasion to meet with colleagues in Cardiff, Belfast, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
In this role, key activities will include:
- Co-creating and delivering systems change campaigns on behalf of the RSPB, working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.
- Responsibility to roll out systems change campaigns in two of the four countries of the UK (with another Senior Campaigner covering the other two).
- Recruiting and line managing professional volunteers to provide expert guidance or deliver campaigns.
- Building key internal and external relationships to support development and delivery of systems change campaigns.
- Maintaining technical expertise and analysis of external context relating to the current campaign and challenges facing nature.

- From time-to-time, and particularly at the start of a new campaign, you will be expected to come together with others working on that campaign, and co-locate face-to-face for a few days. There will be some meetings together, and also the opportunity to work side by side on the project for a short period. This will help build relationships, break down silos, and make working together online easier and more enjoyable. This co-location will usually be at an RSPB office and will be agreed in advance. You will work collaboratively with a team of research and data analysis professionals to support the team's objectives and contribute to the wider goals of the NFCC.
Your role will involve using your skills to deliver valuable insights through effective information gathering, detailed analysis, and comprehensive reporting. You will work on both routine and ad-hoc projects, supporting the team in responding to major events within the fire and rescue sector.
Key responsibilities of a Research & Insight Analyst:
Following the processes and policies set out in the A&I team’s terms of reference document, to ensure high quality, consistent approaches to all work.
Designing and executing information gathering exercises, ensuring that they are clear, easy to understand and will yield the information required to produce the identified output.
Information gathering methods primarily include designing online survey tools and question sets but can also include workshops, interviews and focus groups.
Ensuring the validation and quality assurance of any information gathered to ensure that all insights gathered are accurate and statistically significant.
Interpreting findings and drawing meaningful conclusions using quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques.

About the position
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to increase the effectiveness and impact of a non-profit working to improve the lives of millions of the most vulnerable people around the world.
This position is based in London but supports the Freedom Fund globally (approximately 85 staff across ten countries). Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, the IT Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Freedom Fund's IT environment - providing technical support on existing and new infrastructure and software; troubleshooting issues and providing internal IT support for system users. The post holder will also advise on updates to the Freedom Fund’s IT and cyber security policies and processes and lead on the project to consolidate IT programs under Microsoft 365.
The successful candidate will act as a point of contact between the organisation and external service providers (e.g. Microsoft, Zoom, etc) for day-to-day operational activities.
Responsibilities
Internal IT support
• Serve as the in-house IT support for the global organisation (approximately 85 staff members over 10 countries), providing ongoing IT support and troubleshooting for all staff.
• Set up and onboard new starters, training new staff on all core organisational IT systems and policies.
• Support the administration of key IT systems such as Business Central (our accounting software) and Salesforce (our customer relationship management and grant management system).
• Work with all departments to ensure they are sufficiently and appropriately equipped with IT resources and that there is consistent maintenance and management.
• Manage all physical IT assets and infrastructure and ensure the Asset Register is kept updated.

Training Development

Tasks:
- Write and research press releases, statements for journalists, Q&As and other output on a wealth of animal welfare topics; ensuring these are in line with RSPCA policies.
- Respond quickly and effectively to queries from the media on the work, policies and campaigns of the RSPCA by writing statements and following the sign off procedure.

What makes a great National Press Officer?

About The Role As the Time to Shine (T2S) leader you will make a direct contribution to two key areas of work: our intergenerational leadership programmes and our approaches to capturing and recording our social impact measurements. This role is designed to be an entry level role and therefore we recognise that candidates may have limited work experience but can have a wealth of experience from other activities and we would love to hear about how those skills can transfer to this role.
