WithYou is part of a consortium and our team in Lambeth is recruiting for a Service Manager, to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse service user group. The Service Manager will directly link in with both the Head of Partnerships for WithYou and the Addictions Borough Lead, as lead providers, to ensure clear communication and a mutually agreed delivery of service. As Service Manager, you will be responsible for collaboratively leading the team to ensure a high level of performance by meeting targets and KPIs set, whilst creating a supportive and inclusive environment for our staff team. This post requires excellent leadership skills to work innovatively and confidently, supporting staff in high performing recovery work, overseeing quality assurance and safeguarding and with the capacity to work within competing demands and tight timescales.

Safeguarding those we provide our services to, sharing your concerns and putting the right interventions in place is key to the success of this role.  You will work with a dedicated team of people, building strong relationships with other agencies to deliver the comprehensive support needed by those using our services. You will lead your team, providing development and clear direction aligned with the organisational aims and be a strong advocate for WithYou externally, maintaining and building our profile as you go.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.

What we're looking for

The most important thing you can bring to this role is clear and inspirational leadership. We’re open to discussions with candidates working in leadership roles outside of the drug and alcohol arena - for example, in mental health or housing. We’re most interested in your ability to demonstrate motivational leadership skills, with the drive to promote staff development and retention. You’ll have the support of an exceptional Head of Partnerships and a wider team of experienced and dedicated stakeholders across the organisation.

If you have experience managing comparable services, as either an established manager or in a team leader or similar capacity and you are looking for the next step up in your career, we would welcome your application and a further discussion.

You should also have:

• A track record of successfully working in joint ventures and partnerships

We are seeking to appoint a motivated person to provide advice to Romanian-speaking Roma migrants on a range of areas including welfare benefits, debt/money management and housing.

Over the last few years, New Horizon has been steadily growing in response to increased demand for our services.  Our ambitious plans for 2024/25 include expanding our service offer and securing an additional site locally that will add much needed space for young people’s activities and office space. The Finance and Resources Manager role will add capacity to our Administration Team, creating a new deputy manager role to support the delivery of our expansion plans support and relieve increased demand. We are looking for a Communications Engagement Coordinator.

We are looking for someone to coordinate a training and development programme for students who want to build their skills in marketing and communication through a range of practical, hands-on, opportunities alongside structured training and skills development sessions - enabling the Union to significantly expand its communications and marketing work through students. The Communications Engagement Coordinator will also provide additional support to the Students’ Union UCL marketing and communications team with content creation, social media management, writing and editing, and newsletter and website content management.

About the role:

The Advice Service Manager is responsible for all advice team operations and developing the Kinship advice pathway.

You’ll manage a team to deliver a consistent, high quality and effective service. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing systems and monitoring service quality and performance.

Continuously improving the service, embracing digital solutions and creating efficiencies and processes to drive performance, you’ll increase our ability to provide more support to kinship carers across England and Wales.

You’ll ensure that kinship carers are able to access the information and advice they need in an accessible and consistent way within a clear operational framework.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high quality, targeted and tailored advice to kinship carers in England and Wales.
• Develop a service framework that delivers a consistent service within clear timeframes.
• Set out clear expectations for enquiry response across all channels.
• Manage daily advice line operations, including work on cases, data and continuous improvement.
• Act as deputy designated safeguarding officer (DDSO) providing clear advice on actions needed when safeguarding concerns are raised.
• Develop and manage a high performing team.

Essential criteria includes:

• Substantial working knowledge of advice service delivery frameworks.
• Working knowledge of call handling and client record systems.
• Working knowledge of assessing the needs of individuals (e.g. social care, financial and legal) to provide appropriate advice and information.
• Substantial experience managing an advice service or similar, ideally in a health, social care or charitable organisation.
• A strong background in advice work with proven experience in an advice-giving role.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Domestic Abuse Survivor Advocate to support survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of referral, to provide high quality, independent advocacy and support. Refuge will be working with survivors of abuse whose perpetrator will be supported by Domestic Violence Intervention Project, run by Richmond Fellowship.

Room to Heal is an established therapeutic community in London. We support refugees and people seeking asylum, many of whom are torture survivors, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance, in the context of a community of survivors. Our approach recognises the political context of our community members’ multiple and ongoing experiences of trauma and marginalisation including in their home country, on their journey to, and within, the UK. We offer long term and holistic support.

We are a small team of committed and hard working individuals who work collaboratively in a supportive and friendly environment.

We are looking for a Director (maternity cover) who:

• Understands the experiences of our members in order to sustain Room to Heal’s therapeutic community and ensure the safety and appropriateness of all of our services
• Has awareness and interest in psychotherapy and group work
• Makes strategic decisions that centre the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum alongside maintaining the sustainability of the organisation
• Has the drive, care and vision to create new opportunities to support refugees and people seeking asylum and to learn and share experiences through external networks and partnerships in the UK and internationally 
• Is able to speak with authenticity and challenge injustices knowing directly what the impact is due to own lived experience
• Can lead by consensus and collaboration and has a strong belief in the therapeutic benefits of community. 

Hours:  7.5 hours per day (typically 9.30am – 5.30 pm with a half hour for lunch) 5 days a week. We will also consider 4 days per week, salary pro-rata’d

Salary: £45,000 - 50,000 per annum (full time salary)

Start-date: Autumn 2024 with 8-10 weeks handover with the current Director 

Pension and benefits: automatic enrolment pension scheme, 4% employer contributions and 4% employee contributions

Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays
