Location of the post: Coalville, Leicestershire.
Service Overview: Barnardo's, the UK's largest Children's Charity are currently on an exciting and innovative Journey alongside Leicestershire County Council to deliver a range of Children's homes for the most vulnerable children & young people in Leicestershire.
Although a specific home will be your base location, you must be flexible to travel throughout the locality to cover shifts in other homes should the need arise. Our homes are located in Hinckley, Coalville and Syston.
Marjorie House, our beautiful new home in Coalville will support children & young people between 8-18 years with a complex range of risk and behaviours. The service will provide up to 3 service users at any one-time opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills.
Some of the responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- To build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
- To work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
- To shift lead and conduct staff supervisions.
- To support the Registered Manager with audits and other duties where required.
- To contribute to the upkeep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc.
- To document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
- To ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
- To promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.
Essential requirements to evidence in your written application:
- Must hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
- Must hold OR be willing to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's services.
- Must have at least 1 year supervisory and shift leader experience in a Children's Residential setting.
- Knowledge and experience of working with OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards of Children's homes with the ability to support the manager to achieve a rating of outstanding.
- Knowledge and experience of recording and reporting to enable safeguarding and protection of children & young people.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Director, the role is a key member of the team with responsibility of three staff, and the involvement in the strategic vision of the finance team. Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. They also assist with behavioural and welfare assessments of animals who come into our centres and are on hand to help manage and provide further support with dogs with more complex behavioural needs. The team provide support to dogs during their stay at Battersea, and are also available for continued advice after rehoming.
We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in London. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

About the role
We are now seeking an experienced and qualified finance professional to take responsibility for the finance function of the charity and its trading subsidiary. The chosen candidate will be joining our team as we embark on an exciting new chapter in improving our site and growing our capacity. The Finance Manager will work with the CEO to ensure the organisation has guidance and support on all matters relating to finance so that the charity and its trading subsidiary are always compliant and secure. Core Responsibilities
Financial Management:
· Day to day management of the organisation’s financial and administrational activities, ensuring that appropriate systems are in place to receive and make payments, and to monitor financial performance of both the charity and the trading subsidiary
· Invoicing and, where required, debt management processes
· Regular reconciliation of bank and other relevant accounts

The Salvation Army are partnering with the University of Stirling via the Salvation Army Centre for Addiction Services and Research to deliver a trial for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). This unique and innovative social care trial will examine the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of a Peer Navigator/peer support intervention for people experiencing homelessness and problems with substance use. We are now looking for a Peer Navigator (lived experience practitioner) within our Homelessness service to deliver a relationship-based intervention to those experiencing drug and alcohol problems and homelessness, providing both practical and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities: The role of Peer Navigator (Lived Experience Practitioner) is fundamental to The Salvation Army’s desire to help vulnerable clients achieve positive outcomes and as such you will be passionate, target driven, dynamic and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of services for vulnerable clients in a competitive climate. You will also champion excellence in terms of ensuring our clients are central to our services and successful individual outcomes are achieved.
There is a requirement to work flexibly to meet the needs of participants/client, due to the nature of this particular role, including the outreach element. The usual pattern of work will be Monday-Friday with hours between 8am-6pm. However, some working outside these hours may be requested, depending on the needs of the people you will be supporting. Work life balance will be taken into consideration and individual needs can be discussed with line managers.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
- Their own personal (not family related) experience of homelessness and/or problem alcohol/drug use.
- A passion for supporting vulnerable people, with strong previous experience of working successfully in a similar role, and good knowledge of drug and alcohol issues including harm reduction models.
- Genuine compassion and non-judgemental attitude for people in need with challenging lives.
- Knowledge of the main support needs of people experiencing homelessness and other forms of vulnerability, including problem substance use and challenges with the welfare benefit system.

To lead insight and impact of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector across Bradford District and Craven, including developing and managing the Impact and Insight function for the VCS Alliance. Duties and Responsibilities
- To lead, on behalf of the VCSE sector, and in collaboration with system partners, the development of a shared set of metrics to measure the impact of the sector’s work, particularly in taking pressure off front line health and care services.
- Lead the development and implementation of an approach to demonstrate the impact of the work of VCS partners and their contribution to reducing inequalities.
- Work in collaboration with other voluntary sector infrastructure partners and their data and insight leads to help develop a joined up and collaborative approach to impact and insights across and on behalf of the VCSE sector.
- Develop, maintain and manage good relationships with a broad range of partners including, Local Authority, NHS partners, VCSE partners.
- Gather local, national, and international insight and learning to help inform investment decisions and the evolution of the VCS Alliance and its delivery partners’ work.
- Provide insight and learning for VCS Alliance staff, and VCSE advocates across the health and care system, to help them inform, advocate, influence and/or inspire.

The Role:

We are looking for a Marketing and Communications Officer to join the communications and fundraising team at Day One Trauma Support, could that be you?
The Role
This is a brand-new role at Day One Trauma Support, and an exciting time to join an ambitious rapidly growing national charity. The Marketing and Communications Officer will be a key member of the small but ambitious, hard-working, enthusiastic and friendly team.
A key part of this role will be supporting the Communications Manager to deliver the new flagship event Major Trauma Awareness Week. Other main duties will include:
- Communicating fundraising asks to ensure vital income is sustained, to continue and grow services, using powerful stories to ensure people remain at the heart of their work.
- Supporting colleagues and volunteers to drive the success of events and ensure the charity is well represented at external conferences and exhibitions.
- Growing the network of stakeholders and raising the profile of the charity, driving referrals through effective marketing and communication.

How this role fits into the vision and objectives of Causeway
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager focusing on our Outreach support across the Northwest. This purpose of this role is to manage and maintain high levels of service delivery. You will directly oversee four Coordinators. You will work with those Coordinators to ensure that; contractual KPI's are met, clients are supported effectively, staff are developed, and internal process and procedures are followed, to a high standard. Where required, you will also play a role in implementing service and system improvements
Responsibilities
- Oversight, line management, and support of Coordinators, incl. effective supervisions and yearly appraisals.
- Ensure all KPIs and service standards are met by staff incl. referrals, exits, paperwork submission.
- Use baseline, checklists, quality control and other systems to monitor and support effective service delivery.

About the Role
This is a varied role which involves leading the continuous development of the service to ensure that it meets the needs of the community, in line with Mind BLMK values, including promotion of the service and building strong links with other local organisations, groups, agencies and the wider community. The role also holds responsibility for referrals into the service and leading on more complex cases to assess suitability along with managing the staff, volunteer and student team delivering the service and for the health, safety and maintenance of the Luton Wellbeing Centre.
Service Delivery
- Operate a service and ensure outcomes which supports individuals to deescalate crisis and develop strategies for recovery and increased wellbeing, in line with Mind BLMKs Recovery Model and contract requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the delivery of the Luton service plan and in line with local Luton stakeholder initiatives and plans.
- Work closely with the recovery and peer workers to ensure the correct access to service procedure is followed, taking responsibility for more complex referrals and ensuring everybody has a consistent and quality experience and are able to access the correct service for them in an acceptable timescale.
- Ensure regular involvement of service users, volunteer and staff on local service delivery, organisational matters and wider mental health strategies.
- Maintain an effective workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, line management, workload planning, support and development of Recovery and Peer Workers, volunteers and student placements).
- Work with the Operational Services Manager to review, design and implement changes to service delivery and working models, ensuring the service meets the needs of the local community, and identify relevant funding opportunities.
- Hold responsibility for health and safety (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises), data collection, budget & cash handling (and associated record-keeping), in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures and guidance.

Strategy and Project Management

About you
To be successful in this role, it is important that you have:

Art Fund is the UK’s national fundraising charity for art. The role
This is an important post in the finance team and, as the Part qualified Management Accountant you will be responsible for a number of important processes supporting month end, reforecasts and the annual budget. You will also work with the head of finance on specific projects and support budget holders across the charity on financial questions and analysis.

- Reconciliations and month end processes to support closing the books

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated person with a passion for volunteering and training who can aide in helping to build and sustain a solid and quality framework for the volunteering and workforce training provision at Mind BLMK.
The successful candidate will aide in the creation and administration of cohesive processes and systems for workforce training and in ensuring that Mind BLMK increases its engagement of volunteers, which will include establishing community links and supporting the organisation’s vision and values.
Key Duties
- Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and mapping of Mind BLMK’s current workforce training offer, helping to identify gaps in provision (e.g. through staff appraisals, supervisions etc.), evaluate alternative solutions and making recommendations for effective and impactful training pathways as needed for all staff and volunteers.
- Continue the ongoing audit of existing staff and volunteer training records and maintain the framework for storing and reviewing staff and volunteer training records.
- Monitor and develop if necessary the monitoring system that shows staff and volunteers are completing the training required for their role and taking action when gaps are identified.
- Manage the staff training inbox and coordinate the administrative aspects of the training cycle, such as scheduling, booking, invoicing, and reporting.
- Promote and support the value of volunteering within Mind BLMK and with external organisations.
- Continue to review and monitor all existing volunteer roles on an ongoing basis to ensure an effective volunteer contribution in line with contractual obligations where appropriate is maintained across all departments.
- Aide managers with procedures for designing volunteer roles, managing enquiries, applications, interviews, references, DBS checks and provide a supportive oversight of each candidate’s volunteering cycle.
- Support the induction of volunteers ensuring they are positively onboarded into Mind BLMK and understand the culture, values, and code of conduct.
- Ensure processes are in place for all volunteers to receive training and regular one to one support by the appropriate person.
- Facilitate and manage meetings with volunteers and project staff as appropriate.
- Be responsible for ensuring the volunteer database and administrative tasks, including monitoring, and recording in relation to these duties is kept up to date.
- Support the recruitment of volunteer trustees.
