Salary: £40,000 -£45,000
As Head of Advice, you will ensure delivery of high-quality advice services across multiple channels, maximising engagement and access.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that advice services meet local needs, are effectively managed, consistently delivered and developed to achieve funder requirements, agreed KPIs, accreditation and contractual obligations, client outcomes and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring that clients and the charitable objectives remain at the heart of the service.
- Working as part of the senior leadership team to support the Board of Trustees and CEO to develop and monitor the strategic plans that reflect the mission, vision and values of the organisation.
- Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships
The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader who enjoys creating atmospheres where people can thrive and will be experienced in managing a team to deliver high performance, while putting people at the centre of everything you do. You’ll be passionate about developing partnerships and will look for ways to ensure processes are efficient and accessible, in order for the organisation to provide straightforward ways for as many clients as possible to access services, while ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met. You will be effective at coaching and mentoring the people you manage, and able to develop them well, both in their current roles and for them to progress through the organisation. You will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate assertively but calmly and compassionately, speaking confidently to people at all levels of the organisation. Crucial to the role is a strong understanding of advice and advice issues e.g. housing, debt, employment, benefits etc in order to support the team with complex work and oversee QAA.

Senior Legal Advisor (Procurement & Fundraising)
Commercial Contracts Lawyer (for Procurement contracts and Fundraising).
We have an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity for a Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal Services Team. A small, dedicated team of Lawyers central to the work of Mencap across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We work closely with Mencap’s Teams and Directorates across the organisation to ensure that they operate safely and securely, and providing advice on complex issues.
At Mencap, we offer flexibility about where the role is undertaken. For this role, a presence in Peterborough is preferable where possible, but the individual would be required to attend team meetings in our Peterborough office once a month. Occasionally, it will be necessary to travel nationwide.
The Senior Legal Advisor will provide high quality commercial contracts and documentation, advice and assistance to support all Directorates across Mencap, as part of Mencap’s internal procurement process and Fundraising Teams.
The Senior Legal Advisor will be required to work with different Teams and Directorates across Mencap to draft suitable and robust commercial contracts (including IT contracts); and standard terms and conditions; or review third party’s contracts and terms. Similarly, will be required to negotiate contracts and provide advice for the Fundraising Teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance and radar scanning for changes in law which impacts fundraising.
The Senior Legal Advisor will represent the Legal Services Team on a number of Panels and Committees, such as the Procurement Panel, and would be the lead point of contact with the Legacy Team.
Qualifications:
For this role you would need to be a Solicitor or Barrister qualified to practise in England (or comparable jurisdiction) preferably holding a practising certificate. Previous in-house experience would be viewed positively.
Essential key skills, experience & abilities required for this role:
· 5+ years PQE and experience in commercial contract law
· Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
· Solid awareness of GDPR provisions
· Experience and good technical expertise in contract law and IT agreements
· Experience and good technical expertise in and awareness of regulation effecting fundraising agreements would be beneficial
· Analytical thinker and problem-solving skills.
· Confident and effective communicator across all levels and understand how to share insights with stakeholders.
· Excellent time management and communication skills and strong collaborator
· Dynamic self-starter with a sound ability to manage your own workload.
· Commercially pragmatic, able to succinctly evaluate complex issues and deliver clear, focused advice

About the role
As Crisis’ Media Officer, you will play a key role in securing impactful media coverage that inspires the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health.
Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their stories and empower them to do so. At Crisis we always champion the voices and experiences of the people who we support. You’ll help create bold and hard-hitting news stories to engage our audiences and bring to life some of our biggest organisational campaigns, like our annual Christmas appeal. Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we’re looking for someone like you to join our NGAGE Young People’s Service in Northampton. NGAGE is an early intervention drug and alcohol service for young people aged 10-18 and we provide information, education, advice and support to young people in relation to drug and alcohol use.
Your challenge? To provide advice, assessments, brief and structured interventions and group programmes. As a Practitioner, you will be the initial contact for referrals into the service, conducting assessments via telephone, face to face and offering relevant and appropriate advice, harm minimisation, family interventions risk assessment and management, actioning onward referrals to partner agencies. You will also be required to manage a caseload.

We help individuals find paid employment or return to work after a period of ill health. We also assist employers and employees to successfully resolve mental health problems and other health issues in the workplace. But, it’s only possible with the help of people like you.
Would you like to be a part of an exciting new opportunity in the IPSPC service. Your challenge? To do everything you can to help the individuals we work with to source appropriate, meaningful paid roles with local organisations/employers. Day to day, you’ll offer support to individuals who are suffering with mental ill health and other chronic health conditions, offering careers advice and guidance, helping people to set their own recovery and employment focused goals and provide training in personal and skills development such as CV preparation and interview techniques. You’ll also be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive links with Primary care providers, clinical teams, partner organisations, local employers and other relevant agencies and have the initiative to develop and promote the service. Additionally, you will have responsibility for maintaining efficient admin systems to ensure referrals, assessments and reviews are completed in a timely manner.
As well as a good understanding of the IPS model of working, mental and physical health problems and the issues and barriers this can create for our clients, you’ll need excellent motivational, presentation and listening skills and a willingness to travel in the local area and to work outside of office hours as required. Excellent organisational and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to prioritise workload and be flexible to the demands of this ever-changing role.
There are 2 roles available which are based in Woking which are permanent, full-time roles requiring the post holders to work 37.5 hours a week. The post-holder will be required to be a car driver.

Overall Purpose
To provide advice, assistance and support to young people in the home, as a key member of the Support Team, delivering Baca’s service in line with our Vision and Values. The role includes a consistent adult presence in the home. To attend to their practical and emotional needs whilst supporting the development of living skills. To teach them how to manage and look after a home in order to keep it safe and hygienic. To build trusting relationships within the home to enable young people to feel safe and cared for. Kids in Need of Defense UK is a collaboration between four award-winning, UK based not for profits that specialise in children’s immigration and asylum law. We partner with lawyers and law firms across the UK to provide the highest quality legal advice and representation for free to undocumented children and young people. Central England Law Centre (CELC) is the UK's Largest Law Centre and the lead partner in the KIND UK collaboration. This is a key role for which we’re seeking a suitably qualified and experienced immigration adviser. They will be responsible for providing an excellent frontline service to KIND UK clients, leading on all matters relating to the assessment and triage of new referrals to the service.
