We keep our UK costs to a minimum with core staff and rely on an active and engaged set of Trustees, volunteers and supporters.  Both staff and Trustees of Action Village India have relationships with staff from our partner organisations, created through ongoing dialogue, partner and community visits and participation in learning forums.

Job Purpose: To keep our office functioning smoothly. This is a multi-faceted role working closely with two other members of staff. This is a great opportunity for an organised self-starter who is interested in getting more experience in international development and the charitable sector.

Reports to: Executive Director

Salary: £26,000 pro rata

Hours: 14 hours per week (equivalent to 2 working days) – ideally Wednesday and Thursday.

By agreement there is an option to work an additional 7 events days over the full year. This is related to WOMAD and our other events. This is revised annually based on the agreed workplan.

Contract: 24 months fixed contract with potential for permanent contract thereafter

1 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1.1         Office Management

• Oversee the day to day running of the office, including communication with enquirers and supporters.
• Ensure office is compliant with Health and Safety requirements. Ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
• Ensure resources, IT and communication equipment is appropriate and available for staff and volunteer needs.
• Maintain office equipment, stationery and supplies.
• Be the point of contact for the landlord and any other tenants in the shared building.

1.2       Finance (record keeping)

• Managing Petty Cash
• Recording financial expenditure and income from events for the book-keeper
• Recording donations both online and offline
• Maintaining records by keeping the scanned copies of receipts and payments in the designated files both offline and online.
• Any other record keeping work as agreed with the Executive Director.

1.3       Administrative support to Fundraising events

• Administration of sponsorship fundraising events – registration of runners/riders/walkers and their donations.
• Helping set up donation pages for sponsorship online.

1.4       Communications

• Using online tools to design and distribute Action Village India’s e-newsletter.
• Uploading information on Action Village India’s website.
• Maintaining and servicing the donor and members’ database.
• Correspondence with supporters and donors.
• Production and printing of leaflets, advertisements and maintaining records of appeals.
• Distribution of mailings for appeals, newsletters and to our membership – including email groups.
• Managing all donations to the organisation, including CAF, standing orders, Just Giving and other internet sites and correspondence with individual donors.
• Any other administrative and communications work based on the organisations’ requirements and as agreed with the Executive Director.

1.5       Information Technology

• Maintaining IT equipment including updating anti-virus software.
• Maintaining Action Village India’s filing systems (hard copy, soft and back-up files).
• Liaison with Action Village India’s website designer/manager, editing and uploading documents and photos to website.
• Managing email accounts.
• Managing our telephone and broadband accounts.

1.6       AVI Activities

• Management of office-based volunteers as agreed with the Executive Director.
• Booking rooms and other support for Action Village India’s trustees’ meetings, AGM and other events.

About the role:

We are looking for a Head of Finance to join us at a very exciting time for the Hospice. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will have responsibility for the smooth running of the finance function, supported by an experienced Finance Manager.

With a new Chief Executive and Chair of Trustees in 2024, we are looking at how we can reach our vision of bringing hospice care to more people by 2030. To do this we need to be as efficient and effective as we can and make sure that our managers and senior leaders have the financial information they need to inform decision-making and drive success.

In addition to this, as part of the drive for efficiency, we need to replace our ageing finance system and introduce new processes to streamline information flows by integrating with other key systems across the business. This new role will lead that project and ensure its successful implementation.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced Communications and Events Manager to join our small but very impactful team.

This role is essential in enhancing the visibility and impact of our charity's vital work. You will do this through effective communication outputs, with a focus on digital, and well-organised virtual, regional and national events.

The Communications and Events Manager will lead on overall execution of TSA communications and events, working closely with the Joint Chief Executive. The role is one of the most front-facing and proactive offered at the TSA.

Key responsibilities

Communications

• Lead in the development of communication outputs across all aspects of the TSA’s work in support and information, research, fundraising and campaigning. This will include a major focus on filmed media and editing of short clips as well as building a library of case studies
• Lead in the development of an effective internal and external communications strategy. The strategy should provide direction on how communications pieces are created internally, as well as how communications are presented to different audiences
• Lead in ongoing content development for the TSA’s daily activities. This includes managing content creation for the website, social media platforms and monthly e-newsletter
• Have a major role in development of Scan, our twice-yearly physical magazine
• Develop excellent relationships with key internal stakeholders at all levels by providing direction and support for all TSA teams in their communications needs, such as reviewing and editing fundraising and research materials
• Proactively identify and fulfil opportunities to raise awareness of TSC in the broader media, such as newspapers and other media

Events

• Manage and oversee all aspects of TSA face-to-face events. Our events include the annual community event ‘Big Day’, and our annual event for adults mildly affected by TSC (called ‘Outlook’)
• Manage and oversee our range of monthly virtual events. Including bookings, forward planning and ongoing calendar management of future events and speakers
• Maintain calendar(s) of internal and external events

Strategic support

Job Purpose
The Partnerships Coordinator post is an exciting role with Tutor Trust. You will assist the Strategic Partnerships Manager to maintain and build key school relationships and networks contributing to customer retention and business growth.
The Partnerships Coordinator will also work very closely with the Partnership Operations team and the Communications & Marketing team to contribute positively to the overall success and innovation of the organisation.
Main Functions

• Assist with setting up key school partnerships across West Yorkshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

The Naval Children’s Charity provides financial and holistic support to children and families around the UK.  We work closely with other charities, have our own team of caseworkers and use an external Armed Forces group case management system CRM, as well as a bespoke internal CRM of our beneficiaries.

This role is subject to DBS checking.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Caseworkers provide support and advice to eligible individuals in line with the policies of the Naval Children’s Charity.  They work closely with other organisations to ensure that children and families receive appropriate and prompt support.

· To act as the first point of contact for the Casework team and beneficiaries

· To complete an initial assessment of need by triaging telephone calls, emails and applications received through different CRMs used by the Charity

· Contact families who submit an enquiry through the Charity website or via email

· Pass emergency requests for support to the Casework Team Manager or Head of Welfare for prioritising

· Deal with enquiries and correspondence from beneficiaries

· Establish a relationship of trust with beneficiaries.  Offer support and signpost beneficiaries in areas such as relationship, bereavement, family counselling both by telephone and in person when appropriate to statutory/external organisations and Armed Forces charities.

· Liaise with external caseworkers from SSAFA, RN FPS and other organisations to ensure comprehensive casework is carried out on all beneficiaries

· Investigate applications for grants and, following assessment, produce recommendations for the Head of Welfare/CEO and Welfare Committee

· Follow up with beneficiaries once casework has been completed to ascertain impact and any unmet need

· Investigate beneficiary entitlement to statutory funds, advise of other possible sources of charitable funding and, with the beneficiaries’ consent, refer to other charities to almonise with them to provide a package of care for the beneficiary

· Ensure confidential handling of all information concerning beneficiaries in accordance with the Naval Children’s Charity’s confidentiality and data protection policies

· Keep thorough, confidential and systematic records of all matters concerning enquiries, applications, and grant awards in accordance with the Naval Children’s Charity’s Data Protection policies

· Provide feedback and regular reports to inform Casework Team Manager of trends

· Process day to day invoices and pass to the Head of Finance

· Keep up to date with developments on legislation, childcare issues and the benefits system and have an awareness of the MoD allowance system

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience

· Professional experience in a Triage/Caseworker/Family Support Worker role

Chapter Executive Assistant

We are recruiting for an Executive Assistant / Chapter Clerk and Assistant to the Communar. 

We need someone who is proactive and motivated with exceptional organisation skills to help manage the governance processes and support the Communar to run the Cathedral.

Don’t worry if you don’t have specific experience of working for a faith based organisation.  Whilst it’s experience in a faith based and/or third sector organisation is desirable, what’s more important is someone who has relevant experience of working with a board and supporting a senior manager with the ability  to pick up the particulars of working in this environment and sympathise with the aims of our organisation.

The Role

The main duties of this role is to provide executive support to:

• The Chapter, which is the Cathedral’s governing body and is similar in function to a charity trustee board, including its associated committees and institutions;
• The Cathedral’s Communar, who is the Cathedral’s Chief Operating and Finance Officer;

You will ensure the delivery of excellent governance, facilitating the smooth running of Cathedral processes and working on any assigned projects. 

About You

You will have experience of a similar type of work at a similar level and familiarity with working closely with senior staff and board members.

We are looking for someone who can show evidence of building and managing effective relationships with a range of stakeholders in complex organisations and experience of charity governance or an aptitude to learn is highly desirable.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Fundraising and Partnerships Manager

Job Purpose: To develop fundraising proposals and raise funds from trusts and foundations. To raise funds for Action Village India through our trading activities and events.

Reports to: Executive Director

Salary: £30,000 pro rata

Hours:21 hours per week (equivalent to 3 working days) – ideally including Wednesday and Thursday.

By agreement there is an option to work an additional 11 events days over the full year. This is related to WOMAD and our other events. This is revised annually based on the agreed workplan.

FUNDRAISING

1.1 Fundraising Management and Donor Liaison:

• In line with Action Village India’s project funding priorities, research and develop fundraising proposals for new and ongoing projects to be submitted to major donors, trusts and foundations as well as other appropriate sources.
• Keep up to date spreadsheets and databases tracking donor deadlines, the status of applications and reporting deadlines.
• Ensure that material from partners for monitoring reports is developed as needed and work to ensure that reports are submitted as required and to agreed deadlines.
• Support the Executive Director with fundraising and reporting to individuals and trusts.

1.2Events

• Plan and manage, in collaboration with the Action Village India team, the events for the year
• Attend Action Village India fundraising events (evenings and weekends as agreed with the team)
• Attend WOMAD festival and support the Action Village India team with the successful running of the Action Village India stall and presence at the festival.

1.3 Individual Giving

• Planning and delivering our regular appeals and engagement communications.
• Develop new ways to engage our supporters’ base and grow income from Individual Giving products.
• Build engaging journeys to retain existing supporters and develop more supporters.

1.4 Communications and Development Management

• Create communications content that inspires supporter engagement and promotes loyalty.
• Contribute relevant material and content to Action Village India newsletters.
• To design and produce communication materials – Annual Report and Appeals
• Supply project information to support appeals to individual donors, and at public events including WOMAD; co-organise the exhibition at WOMAD.
• Work with partners to generate engaging communications and marketing materials about the progress of their work, including visual content.
• Work with partners to generate material on which to base awareness-raising and educational work in the UK, where appropriate.
• Manage the creation of the organisation’s content, for example, leaflets, webpages and annual reports.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EXPERIENCE

• Ideal minimum of three years proven experience in fundraising from trusts and foundations, events and individual giving.

• Provide high quality Welfare Benefits advice and casework and, as appropriate, representation at the 1st Tier Tribunals for disabled individuals of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
• Write Mandatory Reconsideration requests and in a limited number of cases, write appeal submissions.
• Undertake direct welfare advice and casework.
• Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken using an appropriate electronic Welfare Benefits Recording and Information System via AoD’s Charity Log, and through the use of Excel
