Working across London the team deliver person-centred, flexible, open-ended packages of support, advice and assistance to people who are/have been homeless, so that they can access and maintain a safe and secure home of their own.
Contract: 12-month fixed term contract, family leave cover.
Location - Crisis Skylight London, 50 – 52 Commercial Street, E1 6LT, with working from home and outreach in line with Crisis’ hybrid working
About the role
As the Housing First Manager, you will develop, lead, and manage a multi-disciplinary team, including coaches, a peer support worker and volunteers, to deliver high quality, safe and effective services to help individuals end their homelessness for good. There are also 2 team leaders who directly support the team and a clinical psychologist.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have initiative and knowledge of Housing First and Housing Led approaches and their role in systems change across homelessness services. The ability to lead by example, inspire and lead a multi-disciplinary team working with people with complex and enduring needs, as well as experience of developing external and internal partnerships to gain the most positive outcome for people using the service.

Ruils is a charity that supports disabled children and adults, to live independently, be part of their community and to live life to the full. We provide information, advice, practical support, befriending and accessible activities to our clients and families. We enable individuals to have choice and control over the way in which they get their support.
The Adult Services Team Manager is one of 3 team managers reporting to our Chief Executive Officer. The services managed include Direct Payment Support across Richmond and Wandsworth, Befriending and Community Activities, our Benefits and Housing Advice and Information service and our Counselling service.
We constantly research and develop services to meet the identified needs of the community and this role would suit someone who wants a good level of autonomy to develop new ideas.

Purpose of Post
- To be responsible for the management of the Support Services to Direct Payment clients in Richmond and Wandsworth.

Main Duties include:
Management of Direct Payment Support Service
- Lead and manage the Direct Payment Support Service across Richmond and Wandsworth Boroughs through the Direct Payment Leads.
- Provide support to the DP team leads to resolve complex DP HR management issues around the area of employment law.
- Support the team leads in their work with the local authority to set targets for the project, monitor performance against these targets and identify and resolve any issues that arise.
- Provide performance data to finance for invoicing purposes.
- Report quarterly to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees.
- Work with the DP team leads and the CEO on new DP projects and funding applications as required.
CILS, Pathways and Counselling Teams
- Lead and manage the delivery of the Community activity, Befriending, Pathways and Counselling services.
- Work with the CILS partners to ensure that the service is meeting Local Authority targets.
- Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees.
- Responsible for ensuring active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and to ensure representation of Ruils at networking events.
- Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.
General Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring safeguarding policies and principles are upheld across Adult Teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're hiring a specialist women’s refuge, Service Manager. Someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children to join our new service in West London. This role is an opportunity for a leader to support and manage a refuge accommodation for women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma .
The service provides a much needed safe space and support for women to feel empowered in their healing journey and to feel secure in their independence, strength and skill. The successful candidate will support in leading the service which spans over 3 buildings and will develop their team which consists of support mentors and children and family workers. We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated colleague to lead this service in a trauma informed and inclusive way.
You will the have overall responsibility of your service and team, aiming to deliver a high quality, trauma informed service to your residents. Your role is to ensure full contract and regulatory compliance whilst being a role model/leader for your team to achieve KPI's and other requirements as per the service needs.
Shift/Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week in service Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, you may also be required to work outside these hours as per the service requirements and needs. You will also take part in our on call service.

Line Management and Leadership
- Provide high quality support, leadership and line management to staff, offer guidance, support, and advice to the team and support them to perform to the best of their abilities.

Service Delivery
- Manage the overall day-to-day operational delivery of your service, working directly with your team, colleagues, residents and participants, as well as other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the needs of our residents.
- Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
- Support the team to carry out their day to day duties and responsibilities, offer guidance and support as necessary.
- Work proactively to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.

Risk Management
- Follow relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share relevant information with others as necessary.
- Ensure all case recording and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR.
- Champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.
Property and Housing Management
- Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
- Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents.
Financial Management
- Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
- Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
- Maintain financial management within the service.
Other
- Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. Please refer to the JDPS attached for more information.
KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:

- Knowledge of the needs of women experiencing domestic abuse and will have strong leadership and team development skills.
- Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
- Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
- Previous experience in people management and development
- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.
- Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
- Understanding of Housing Management, including voids and evictions

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. Fine Cell Work (FCW) is a charity and creative social enterprise committed to the rehabilitation of people in prison, and post-release. Our innovative Open The Gate (OTG) programme at our Battersea Hub offers work experience, volunteering opportunities, accredited training, mentoring, and signposting support to participants at any point on their resettlement journey, and we are looking for an ambitious and dynamic Engagement and Support Officer (ESO) to join our team.
The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by people in contact with the criminal justice system and will work proactively to establish meaningful and sustainable cross-referral pathways with external agencies. They will nurture an aspirational, inclusive, creative, and safe working environment; use their knowledge, insights, and expertise to support tangible outcomes for all OTG participants; and develop the wider programme offer in line with our organisational objectives.
The role
As well as offering person-centred support and helping to shape our post-release programmes, you would be responsible for:

Nurturing an aspirational working environment where participants/Apprentices are inspired to achieve their potential.

Working to build and maintain referral partnerships with external agencies [including HMP resettlement teams, probation services, approved premises and community-based organisations supporting prison-leavers] to increase participant numbers and sustained engagement with Open the Gate.

The person

About the role and services:
Multiple Disadvantage and Complex Needs: These services provide accommodation and support to people who are moving from rough sleeping and who have needs relating to their mental and physical health, their substance addiction, offending behaviour and mental health. Often at the point of referral, a client’s needs have not been met by any of the services they may require. Part of our role is building the trusting relationships required to put the necessary support in place. Understandably, therefore, these services operate in challenging environments and require resilient and compassionate staff.
Young Peoples' Services: These services are dedicated to providing support to young people, specifically in relation to leaving care, offending behaviour, gang affiliation, complex mental health and anti-social behaviour. We work within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process. Working in these services would mean overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. The postholder will hold a caseload of complex cases and will be responsible for supporting the team to manage complex cases. You will guide and signpost the young person to the relevant statutory and non-statutory services and will be key in motivating and coaching the young person to develop independent living skills.
Floating Support Services: Focussed on fostering independence and empowering your clients, we work to support individuals to sustain their tenancy, enhance their wellbeing, build resilience, and achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether assisting with housing issues, addressing mental health concerns, or supporting the development of daily living skills, the primary goal is to enable clients to navigate challenges and lead fulfilling lives. All work undertaken will be in line with planned support, making sure that clients are actively involved and that the support offered is full and holistic. You would be part of a supportive and inclusive work environment that values teamwork and individual growth.
We are looking to recruit permanent staff with these qualities to provide SHP’s clients with consistent support in line with SHP’s values, delivery model, policies and procedures and support planning tools.
As a member of the Peripatetic Senior Practitioner Team, you will move between services and will generally cover a rota ‘line’ until we recruit to the vacancy that the worker is covering, providing interim supervisory support to staff teams as directed by the Team/Service manager. (In Multiple Disadvantage, Complex Needs and Young People Services, covering a rota 'line' will involve working on a rota that includes evening work and may also include regular weekend and Bank Holiday work.) You would then be reassigned to another service in need of your support. The role therefore provides an opportunity to model and share good practice between services.
SHP will support you with a comprehensive induction and training package, including how to work in SHP's trauma-informed support model.
About you:
- A high-level understanding and ability to manage the range of issues involved in the delivery of quality services to clients who may be at risk and who have complex mental health needs.
- Experience and an in-depth understanding of the principles and delivery of risk and needs assessment, planned support, goal setting and advocacy with clients within a recovery and strengths model, and the ability to share this and support others to deliver this.
- Demonstrable aptitude for monitoring, developing and supporting staff performance and the ability to motivate staff members to perform effectively.
- An ability to provide flexible and client centred solutions to problems of behaviour. Also, the ability to embed psychologically informed methods of work within an accommodation setting.
- A demonstrably high level of numeracy, literacy and comprehension in order to be able to contribute to budget setting, monitor expenditure, write reports and review, analyse and extrapolate from written information.
- Ability to co-ordinate the work of a number of individuals or agencies to get tasks completed to time and to specification.
- Strong networking skills, and proven ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to establish or improve services to service users.

In this role you will be a key member of the Complex Specialist Directorate operating across Look Ahead's geography in Learning Disability and Autism services. The Clinical Lead will be a qualified Behaviour Analyst, responsible for conducting assessments, deciding most appropriate PBS interventions and supporting service teams to deliver effective strategies and develop practice. The postholder will be expected to obtain information from all relevant stakeholders to inform decision making. This role will operate off-line reporting into the Director of Specialist and Complex Care and working alongside the Director for Business Development and wider team.
This is 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension.

What you'll do:
To be successful the postholder will demonstrate capacity to implement sustainable, person-centred PBS interventions working collaboratively with Look Ahead PBS Coaches, Service Managers and wider stakeholders.
This role will be varied and responsive to the needs of the customers that Look Ahead supports across our Learning Disability and Autism services and will likely include:
- Conducting initial needs assessments from referrals
- Developing individual PBS plans and support proposals sensitive to customers cognitive, social, emotional and sensory needs
- Facilitating support planning for individuals in receipt of Tier 2 or 3 of our PBS Framework
- Performing Functional Assessments for PBS planning
- Conducting training sessions for individuals and teams
- Providing coaching and guidance to service teams to develop practice
- Observe practice, collate and record data, provide feedback
- Designing and implement training programs:
In-house RBT training and supervision with a view to developing capability of those selected for RBT to deliver regional specific assessments.
Autism, learning disability and communication - Provide clinical supervision to PBS Coaches and support their development to apply PBS strategies and interventions
- Attend management meetings and write reports

Our Senior Practitioners will provide interim cover across SHP, providing supervisory support where needed to staff teams. This could include our Multiple Disadvantage and Complex Needs accommodation services, Young Peoples Services or Floating Support Services.

About the role and services:
Multiple Disadvantage and Complex Needs: These services provide accommodation and support to people who are moving from rough sleeping and who have needs relating to their mental and physical health, their substance addiction, offending behaviour and mental health. Often at the point of referral, a client’s needs have not been met by any of the services they may require. Part of our role is building the trusting relationships required to put the necessary support in place. Understandably, therefore, these services operate in challenging environments and require resilient and compassionate staff.
Young Peoples' Services: These services are dedicated to providing support to young people, specifically in relation to leaving care, offending behaviour, gang affiliation, complex mental health and anti-social behaviour. We work within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process. Working in these services would mean overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. The postholder will hold a caseload of complex cases and will be responsible for supporting the team to manage complex cases. You will guide and signpost the young person to the relevant statutory and non-statutory services and will be key in motivating and coaching the young person to develop independent living skills.
Floating Support Services: Focussed on fostering independence and empowering your clients, we work to support individuals to sustain their tenancy, enhance their wellbeing, build resilience, and achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether assisting with housing issues, addressing mental health concerns, or supporting the development of daily living skills, the primary goal is to enable clients to navigate challenges and lead fulfilling lives. All work undertaken will be in line with planned support, making sure that clients are actively involved and that the support offered is full and holistic. You would be part of a supportive and inclusive work environment that values teamwork and individual growth.
We are looking to recruit permanent staff with these qualities to provide SHP’s clients with consistent support in line with SHP’s values, delivery model, policies and procedures and support planning tools.
As a member of the Peripatetic Senior Practitioner Team, you will move between services and will generally cover a rota ‘line’ until we recruit to the vacancy that the worker is covering, providing interim supervisory support to staff teams as directed by the Team/Service manager. (In Multiple Disadvantage, Complex Needs and Young People Services, covering a rota 'line' will involve working on a rota that includes evening work and may also include regular weekend and Bank Holiday work.) You would then be reassigned to another service in need of your support. The role therefore provides an opportunity to model and share good practice between services.
SHP will support you with a comprehensive induction and training package, including how to work in SHP's trauma-informed support model.
About you:
- A high-level understanding and ability to manage the range of issues involved in the delivery of quality services to clients who may be at risk and who have complex mental health needs.
- Experience and an in-depth understanding of the principles and delivery of risk and needs assessment, planned support, goal setting and advocacy with clients within a recovery and strengths model, and the ability to share this and support others to deliver this.
- Demonstrable aptitude for monitoring, developing and supporting staff performance and the ability to motivate staff members to perform effectively.
- An ability to provide flexible and client centred solutions to problems of behaviour. Also, the ability to embed psychologically informed methods of work within an accommodation setting.
- A demonstrably high level of numeracy, literacy and comprehension in order to be able to contribute to budget setting, monitor expenditure, write reports and review, analyse and extrapolate from written information.
- Ability to co-ordinate the work of a number of individuals or agencies to get tasks completed to time and to specification.
- Strong networking skills, and proven ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to establish or improve services to service users.
- Specific skills and expertise support one of the SHP service groups - Adult Multiple Disadvantage and Mental Health Accommodation Services, Young People’s Services or Floating Support Services.

About the team
Part of our Equity, Inclusion & Culture Directorate, the Lived Experience Insight Team delivers a programme of local and national involvement activities to ensure the views of those affected by the housing emergency shape and influence all of Shelter’s work. People with lived experience are involved in a range of different ways, through forums and events in local communities, sharing their story as part of campaigns, and speaking out about the issues that affect them. This helps ensure that our services and campaigns are developed alongside local communities and so that lived experience informs everything we do.
This role will focus more specifically on our GROW (Getting real opportunities of work) Traineeship Programme – a programme designed to provide 12-18 months employment opportunities for people who have experienced multiple disadvantages and exclusion. The programme is focussed on breaking down barriers to employment by embedding lived experience within the workforce and supporting systems change. These placements provide a range of support, learning and development to really support our GROW Trainees within their working environments. All of our traineeships also include a ‘move on’ phase with the goal of supporting trainees to secure future employment. Our GROW Traineeship programme is key to Shelter’s strategic aims of putting people with lived experience of the housing emergency at the centre of everything we do.
About the role
This role will lead the delivery of Shelter’s national GROW Programme, and we’ll rely on you to oversee the programme and employability focussed activity, ensuring that the right structures and resources required to facilitate our traineeships are in place. You’ll also ensure that the programme is centred around lived-experience, as well as anti-racism and inclusion principles. What’s more, you’ll work closely with colleagues across Shelter, to build on learning from the programme and further expand our employability offer across Shelter.
You’ll support your team to not only meet their objectives and develop their skills but to deliver high quality well-being and development opportunities for our GROW Trainees. What’s more, you’ll be comfortable to provide expert advice on lived experience employability, creating resources, guidance and training and also supporting stakeholders to embed lived experience across their work. Empowering our GROW Trainees to use their experiences in order to influence the design and delivery of Shelter’s work will also be a part of your role, as will scoping opportunities for GROW Placements across the organisation providing opportunities to further embed lived experience. As part of the day-to-day role as a GROW Programme Manager, you’ll also ensure we follow our HR and health and safety policies, act on safeguarding concerns, take an anti-racist approach and lead on our GROW Recruitment processes – all an exciting part of this new role.

With experience of managing and leading on an employability, learning and development, or lived experience programme, you’ll be passionate about ensuring people facing exclusion and disadvantages are supported and included in the work we do. To succeed, you’ll be a highly organised individual, managing projects, and implementing work plans. What’s more, you’ll be a confident leader with people management experience, and an ability to influence and build successful relationships with a range of stakeholders.
You will also have knowledge of employability best practice and the ability to apply this to our GROW Programme management and development to make sure we continue to support our GROW Trainees. As well as this, you’ll be competent in using a range of IT to support your work, and experiences of budget management would be desirable.

· You will have experience of staff management and the ability to lead, motivate and develop a large team, ensuring staff are appropriately trained. You will be visible in the service and strive to model best practice and inspire support workers.
· You will be able to think creatively and be adaptable in approaches, with experience of implementing emergency management guidance to support staff.
· Experience of carrying out needs assessments and creating support and risk management plans for people with behaviours of concern. And be committed to include the person, and their circle of support at all times.
· A commitment to providing high quality, personalised active support
· Leading by example, you will uphold the rights of people we support to be involved at all levels of decision making.
