Operations Coordinator

We are seeking an individual with strong administration skills to join our team in the role of Operations Coordinator and support our mission to end homelessness. This role will support the administrative and operational functions within our offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, together with our coffee shops and Village, whilst being the first point of contact for inbound enquiries.
We are looking for a well organised individual, with good problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude to become part of our friendly team and are keen to learn and develop.
What you’ll be doing:
· Ensuring our offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow are fit for purpose, providing an environment that is welcoming to both staff and external visitors.
· Managing and responding to inbound email and telephone enquiries.
· Manging shop related customer orders, inbound enquiries and invoicing.
· Supporting elements of finance administration, especially during holiday periods.
· Booking travel, accommodation, training courses and supporting colleagues with other business-related purchases.
· Maintaining the health and safety maintenance tracker and supporting colleagues with actions and maintenance required in each of our operational units and at our Village.
· Arranging meetings and taking minutes if required.
· Supporting with data protection compliance and updating records and policies.
· Supporting the Finance & Risk Director in ensuring our IT systems are safe and secure, in conjunction with our external IT support.
· Compliance with legislation and adherence to best practice.
· Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with other administrative and operational matters as reasonably required.

About the role
We are looking for a flexible and motivated individual to act as Governance and Executive Support Officer. The role will primarily support the Governance and Executive Support Manager and the Executive Team to ensure smooth running of the Trident Board and wider Association business including corporate governance and performance reporting processes.
The Officer will work with colleagues across the organisation to assist with range of governance activities and will assist with identifying and delivering opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our work.
Candidates will need to have experience of working in an office environment providing corporate support. This includes experience in minute taking, drafting reports and emails, etc, as well as an awareness of corporate governance, and reporting processes.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide professional support to the Governance and Executive Support Manager and the Executive Team to ensure the smooth running of board and committees and corporate and performance reporting processes within the Group.

- Maintains a list of corporate governance actions and ensures these are cascaded, delivered and reported on as appropriate
- Works efficiently to produce minutes, notes / follow-up emails and deliver on tasks arising from corporate governance meetings.

About You
A high-performing administrator with a proven track record of providing high- quality governance and business management support to Boards and Committees.
You will be able to quickly build effective relationships to work confidently with, and provide trusted and reliable advice and support to, key stakeholders including Board and Committee members and the Executive Team. You will understand the needs of the business and have strong communication skills with a ‘can do’ attitude and appetite for solving problems. You will be able to work to tight deadlines, deal with the unexpected and have excellent attention to detail.
Experience:
• Experience of working in a Secretarial or Governance team preferably within a not-for-profit, public body or charity.
• Have experience of providing high-quality customer-focused corporate governance support to Boards and/or Committees to include: preparing agendas in line with business priorities and governance requirements; drafting, commissioning, reviewing and editing papers and reports; briefing paper authors and attendees; preparing high-quality minutes; circulating and tracking actions arising from meetings; monitoring conflicts of interests; facilitating recruitment, induction and training for members.

Summary of the Role
As a Trust and Grant Fundraiser, you will play a crucial role in securing funds from various trusts, foundations, and grant-making organisations to support the mission and projects of Roundabout, South Yorkshire’s youth homeless charity. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching potential funding sources, developing compelling grant proposals, and cultivating relationships with donors.
You will spend time researching grants to apply for and build relationships with award funding bodies. In addition, you will need to develop relationships with the different projects at Roundabout to know what they need funding and to interpret the results to feedback to funders.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in conducting comprehensive research, crafting persuasive grant proposals, and fostering meaningful relationships with donors to drive the organisation's fundraising success.
You will be joining a fast paced and fun team of five fundraisers who work across all fundraising disciplines.
Key accountabilities

We are looking for a full-time Shelter Coordinator to join our small and friendly team to lead the successful delivery of our shelter operations for the 2024-25 winter season.
C4WS Homeless Project provides support to those experiencing homelessness throughout the year via a well-established winter night shelter in Camden, a lunchtime club, Jobs Club, hosting scheme, mentoring scheme and various other activities. We are passionate about helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness and working towards living independently.
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for coordinating the practical and day-to-day running of our shelters, which will involve:
- Ensuring each shelter has enough trained volunteers to safely operate
- Ensuring each shelter has all the practical equipment and resources needed
- Liaising with and supporting church volunteer teams
- Being the main staff presence at shelter shifts
- Responsible for managing our weekly Friday Club drop in
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with people who are experiencing homelessness or other similarly disadvantaged groups, an efficient and practical approach, warm and friendly nature, and a can-do attitude.
The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly whilst the shelter is operating. This includes some evenings (9:30pm finish), and some weekend shifts and bank holidays, as per a weekly-changing rota, and therefore is required to display considerable flexibility. The service has staff working on a rota basis including evenings and weekends as well as bank holidays and sleep-in shifts.
In this highly fulfilling role you will actively provide personal care support to residents and enable them to access health, social and personal care services that will empower them to live fulfilling lives with dignity in a social care setting.
All residents are in receipt of ongoing recovery orientated needs assessment and support plans that actively promote their personal, social, cultural and familial identity, as well as specifying the health provision required to maintain as much independence as practicable in a registered care setting.

We are seeking an innovative and creative Director to ensure the delivery of Acis vision, values, and business plan - providing clear direction and effective leadership to support a culture and climate which inspires service excellence.
This is a brand new position allowing the successful candidate every opportunity to create and drive their strategy. You will play a critical role in shaping and delivering this new Directorate covering community investment. Having recently launched our Corporate Strategy which will take us through to 2030 you will be joining the organisation at the start of a very exciting journey.
As Director of Community Investment, a typical day might include:
- Liaising with Board Members, the Chief Executive and other Directors on matters of corporate management and business development.
- Working on business strategy and policy formulation at Board and Executive Leadership Team level to help achieve the Company’s overall objectives.
- Directing the Community Investment teams on matters relating to the delivery of our community investment activities and services across education, employability, wellbeing and student accommodation services – ensuring profitability, growth and effective service delivery to enable us to make a measurable difference in our customers’ lives.
- Leading and owning the organisation’s strategic approach to growth through developing new complementary products and services in the communities in which we work. This might include new business acquisitions, market diversification, commercial product development, new services or complementary projects to achieve our growth objectives to generate at least 10% of group turnover from social purpose investment (excluding income from student accommodation) or developing innovative services alongside our housing offering to support the changing needs of our customers.
- Turning stakeholder relationships into strategic partners, through owning the group-wide external relationship development with stakeholders at all levels and across multiple organisations.
- Driving change across the organisation to deliver a culture that meets high standards for all our customers and ensures the organisation’s growth, in ways that meet the needs of our customers.
What we really need to see:
- You’ll be an innovative and creative thinker able to consider new ideas whilst recognising the constraints of the highly regulated environment in which we work.
- Substantial experience of working in a senior manager role or higher in a medium to large sized organisation – and all that that role entails.
- A clear influencer, negotiator, problem solver and relationship developer – who knows how to get the job done and with the commercial experience to win and grow new business through new funding opportunities.
- A real understanding of social value and how organisations like ours can leverage external funding to deliver more.
- A strong knowledge of how grant, contract and framework funding works including in depth understanding of tendering and bidding processes to ensure we maximise our value for money and drive profitability. Additionally, a background in operational delivery or contract management of these funds, particularly within funded streams such as ESFA, DWP and centralised grant funding.
- Experience of Ofsted, regulatory bodies, audit and compliance regimes.
- A demonstrable commitment to the principles of safeguarding and a thorough understanding of keeping children safe in education.

Main Responsibilities

We are thrilled to be working with Herts Young Homeless to recruit an Individual Giving Officer to join their small, dedicated fundraising team.
Herts Young Homeless is a charity whose mission is to break the cycle of homelessness in Hertfordshire through education, advice and support for young people and their families. Set up in 1998, they support 16-24 year-olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and their services range range from prevention to early intervention, crisis support and independent living support. The work they do empowers young people to deal with the difficult situations in their lives, giving them the ability and confidence to 'do it themselves' and ultimately find stability.
The Individual Giving Officer reports into the Head of Fundraising and Communications and is responsible for the Individual Giving income stream, with a revenue target of £90-100K. The Individual Giving programme is relatively new so there is a lot of scope to grow it by providing excellent stewardship through meaningful engagement and thoughtful and creative communications.
To succeed in the role of Individual Giving Officer, you will need:

As part of the Transition Training Flat Service you will undertake direct, planned and structured one to one and group sessions with young people. Working toward distinct outcomes you will support young people to reach their person-centred goals in a trauma-informed way.
Key elements of the service include:
- Group work promoting independent living skills to young people in preparation for their ‘move on' housing options. This will include delivering accredited Independent Living Skills programmes, facilitating visits to accommodation providers, as well as providing opportunities to develop practical skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning and bill paying in a home environment
- Support for those at risk of homelessness or those at risk of placement breakdown, for young people aged 16+. This is targeted one-to-one support for those young people who may be experiencing instability in their accommodation or placement.
- This service will provide young people aged 16+ with an independent living experience in order for them to better understand their accommodation needs and options. Intensive individual support will be provided to those young people accessing the training flats (includes evening and weekend working).
What does the Job Role involve?
Your duties will include:
- This service provides support to young people from 9am until 8pm Monday to Friday and from 10am until 6pm on weekends.
- The service requires flexibility of work as we support young people around their needs. This means rota working including the evenings and weekends.
- Working with young people and professionals to develop agreed support plans.
- Delivering accredited group work programmes in the areas of Independent living and tenancy readiness.
- Visiting and supporting service users in their placements providing support to young people and their carers.
- Visitingyoung people accessing the training flats on a regular, planned basis. Undertaking entry/exit tasks, safety and welfare checks as well as responding to emergencies and crises that may arise within service hours.
- Supporting young people to ensure they are aware of their accommodation options and entitlements in readiness for move on. This will include assisting young people to complete benefit applications, offering support through appeals as well as supporting service administrators with the monitoring of data.
- Supporting young people to integrate into their communities and to encourage participation in community events and activities.
- Tracking a young person's support journey through the use of outcomes scoring. To discuss, score and record outcomes, implementing a young person-centred approach.
You will have (essential criteria):
- Knowledge of the issues affecting young people particularly those who have been ‘looked after', are care leavers, or are homeless/threatened with homelessness.
- Experience of direct work with young people in a relevant setting.
- Experience of creating tailored support plans with young people and demonstrating the positive outcomes achieved.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Enhanced Hostel Intensive Needs Support Coach in Medway to join us on a fixed term contract until 31st March 25 as part of the Rough Sleeper Initiative Project - RSI (this is likely to be extended but is funding dependent) to provide effective practical and personal support and guidance to Pathways’ clients during the period of their stay in our accommodation to enable them to become more resilient and to live independent lives.
Pathways to Independence is committed to becoming a psychologically informed environment; one which considers and responds to, the potential impact of trauma in every area of its service delivery and design
The primary responsibility of the RSI Enhanced Hostel Intensive Support Coach will be to provide personalised support and guidance to individuals referred to Pathways to Independence through the Medway Rough Sleepers Initiative. This will include assessing client needs and providing support to meet these needs, completing safety plans, ensuring the client can identify and access relevant services, liaising with other statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure the appropriate support for clients.
You will be allocated a caseload of between 5 and 7 clients who have a history of non-engagement, rough sleeping and complex needs. You will be expected to be proactive, in engaging clients demonstrating an approachable, flexible and caring style. The Intensive Needs Support Coach will be required to participate in activities to encourage the development of skills and the building of positive relationships within the local community.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. You may need to work flexibly outside these hours as per the requirements for the service, residents and participants. You will be based across multiple projects in the Medway area.

- The knowledge, skills and ability to assess the needs of people with substance misuse/mental health and health problems and to formulate support plans and risk assessments

About the role:
The Diversion programme began as a two-year pilot programme launched in July 2019 and funded by MOPAC (Mayor’s Office for Policing & Crime). The aim was to drive multi-agency working between the police, Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) service providers and other statutory partners and was part of a wider programme of work to develop a whole system approach to identifying and addressing the needs of women involved in the criminal justice system in London. The Diversion programme integrates a short-term, holistic package of support for women with an out of court disposal, to improve outcomes for the woman and offer Police officers a robust alternative pathway other than prosecution.
We have recently been awarded funding from Portsmouth City Council to deliver a 12-month pilot of the Diversion Programme in Portsmouth, to support those women of the PO1-PO6 area postcodes, who encounter the Police and as a result are then to be referred to the Diversion service rather than be prosecuted.

About You:
To be successful as Diversion Keyworker you will have an in-depth knowledge of issues facing women offenders and those at risk of offending; both in and out of the criminal justice system and the ability to see how violence against women and girls interlinks to women in the criminal justice system.
In short, you will have: proven practice of working with women experiencing issues related to offending (e.g. homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse, mental health or other relevant work area) preferably within criminal justice setting. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of conducting needs and risk assessments and of risk management crisis management skills and an ability to cope in stressful situations. You will show forth your ability to manage a caseload and a top-quality skill set with prioritising and organising your own workload.
You will be a self-serving uniquely able to undertake working independently and at times be managed remotely. That said, you will have a proven record of collaborative and working partnership with relevant statutory and voluntary groups, demonstrating the ability to develop and maintain strong constructive working relationships.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Purpose:
Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women who have been referred for support by prison staff, predominately the Mental Health In-Reach Teams and Primary Care Teams.
Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to women in contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders such as statutory and voluntary sector agencies.

Purpose and duties:
Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children have the lowest educational attainment of all ethnic groups at all Key Stages (House of Commons, 2019). Our children, most especially those with Special Educational Needs, face multi-faceted barriers to accessing appropriate education and other statutory services. To that end, we are recruiting an Education Coordinator to:
• Work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to empower children to reach their potential.
• Work with children, families and agencies to secure educational placements, SEN provision, consistent attendance and achievement.
• Develop strong relationships with education providers to tackle education inequalities and get the best outcomes for the children within communities.
Person specification:
The successful candidate will be committed to achieving excellent outcomes for clients and be aligned with the vision and values of the charity. They will be warm and compassionate, yet also able to demonstrate healthy boundaries and professionalism. They will have experience of successful work with children and an understanding of education systems. They will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication, in addition to sound IT skills. They will have resilience – and a sense of humour is also a must!

There is the opportunity for a full-time position by combining this role with the Health and Social Care Coordinator vacancy (as also advertised).
Salary: £17,184p.a. (£28,643 fte.)
Benefits: pension scheme; personal training budget; generous paid holiday equivalent to 7 weeks plus p.a. bank holidays.
