This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced responsive repairs professional who understands the multiple disciplines required to deliver this fast-paced area of the business, to join our small, but supportive, Housing & Neighbourhoods Team working on all aspects of repairs and maintenance. It is an interesting and varied role for an engaging, solution-focused person, with a passion for providing these types of services across ISHA portfolio and help keep our residents homes well maintained, and someone who wants to add value within an organisation.
You will bring your knowledge and experience by providing advice and support to various stake holders, staff and residents by keeping ISHA service and maintenance records up to date and be able to demonstrate a robust repairs and maintenance service is being maintained. You will work closely with the Head of Assets and Repairs in a generalist capacity, to support with continuous improvement across all service areas, while helping to support and achieve our organisational objectives.
Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
- Coaching and advising Building Surveyors, Disrepair Coordinator and currently four repairs’ advisors.
- Ensuring that robust monitoring, reporting, and forecasting systems are in place.
- Contributing to the budget plan and compiling budget/KPI reports monthly, managing budgets for responsive repairs ensuring effective use of funds.
- You will be responsible for the delivery of our repairs and maintenance service to our residents’ homes ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved and KPIs are being met by our supply chain.
- To contract manage the repairs and maintenance contractors and all other contracts associated with the delivery of these services delivering excellent customer service and value for money.
- Ensuring that robust monitoring, reporting, and forecasting systems are in place and data is kept updated.
- Establish communication links for communal repairs keeping residents informed of outages and reinstatement of service ie lifts.

We are looking for a highly capable Finance Officer to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day transactional financial processes of the charity. In particular, a large part of the role will involve the monitoring of various income streams through the activity of the Fundraising team. ASH Co-op is a thriving tenant-managed housing co-op in Cambridge. We have two part-time staff and are looking for a focused, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic person to take the role on to cover for maternity leave to start from late September.
This is a varied front-line role involving collecting rent and taking enquiries, including maintenance requests and applications for membership. It also involves monitoring budgets, some basic accounting and general office administration. You must be IT literate with a good working knowledge of excel and will ideally have previous experience of housing work, or a similar office environment.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To be responsible, with our other housing co-ordinator/s, for the day-to-day running of ASH Co-op in co-operation with the membership; deal with outside bodies on behalf of the co-op; keep computer records; maintain and develop office and financial systems; and provide administrative support for working groups.
REPORTING TO
The Employment Co-ordinators, who are elected by the members on to ASH Co-op’s committee.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All tasks are to be carried out with the relevant Co-ordinators and Working Groups where appropriate. As a volunteer led organisation, the Housing Co-ordinators will be expected to liaise with working group co-ordinators from time to time to agree how tasks will split between them. A key responsibility of the Housing Co-ordinators is to provide continuity where volunteers are unable to do so.
The successful applicant will be able to work Tuesdays and spread remaining hours across other weekdays between 8am-7pm when needed. The core office opening hours are 9.30am- 5pm. This role is being offered on a 13 month fixed contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead ASSIST Sheffield’s experienced and diverse volunteer teams and staff in delivering high-quality support to people who are experiencing destitution as a result of being refused asylum in the UK. The post holder will join a small leadership team, collectively holding responsibility for the work of the organisation.
You will be experienced in managing or delivering support and advocacy services. You will be committed to the wellbeing of people seeking sanctuary in the UK and to the values of solidarity and respect which underpin ASSIST’s work. You will be confident in enabling volunteers to work effectively with skill and compassion. You will thrive on teamwork in a dynamic and challenging environment and will be ready to bring your skills to the leadership structures in a vibrant, learning organisation. You quickly grasp the subtleties of complex issues and identify patterns in challenges. You don’t stop at diagnosing problems, though; you come up with insightful, pragmatic, equitable, and sustainable ways to produce positive change.
You will be an excellent communicator, committed to forging positive relationships with partners, and ready to hold responsibility confidently and transparently.
And finally you put equity at the centre: You recognise ways that race and other identities intersect, especially with communities we serve. You identify potential for bias and actively work to minimise inequities in all areas of your work.
ASSIST Sheffield is a well-established charity which has supported people who have been made destitute following the refusal of their asylum claims for 21 years. With over 140 volunteers and a staff team of 12, this is a dynamic and challenging working environment.

This role involves providing a community engagement service and administrative support in association with the Senior Community Engagement Officer (SCEO) and residents. You will support the SCEO to develop and maintain resident engagement routes and assist in producing and disseminating key performance indicator information.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with local communities to achieve positive outcomes and a background in housing or administrative roles. They should excel in written and verbal communication, interpersonal relations, report writing, organisation, negotiation, IT and possess strong customer service skills.
Job Purpose
- Provide administrative support and service to the Senior Community Engagement Officer (SCEO) and residents in respect of consultation and community development.
- Support the SCEO to develop and maintain resident engagement routes including the Resident Voice database in addition to other meetings/events.
- Assist the SCEO in producing and disseminating KPI information as necessary.
- Provide a responsive highly supportive and proactive administrative service as required to SCEO.
- Assist the SCEO to prepare and present reports, in a timely fashion, as required.
