Community Engagement Coordinator - Wales

Location: The role will be based out of the BookTrust Offices in Cardiff.  BookTrust works in a hybrid and flexible way with an expectation of a minimum of 8 face to face collaboration days per month which could be at the Cardiff office, visiting partners across Wales and on occasions UK wide travel.  There will therefore be reasonable travel needed to fulfil the role, with occasional overnight stays.

Contract: Full-time, open to discussing flexible and part-time options

Salary:  £28,000.00 per annum.

You will have ideally worked within or across a particular community or region, in outreach or a project within the third sector and be a highly motivated individual with the ability to work and travel unsupervised across multiple projects simultaneously and to work at pace, often to tight deadlines.

A passion to make a difference for children and families with an interest in the benefits of literacy and reading to child development, the value of books, stories and rhymes and the role of parents, carers, and guardians in developing a love of reading would be valuable.

About you:

To be considered for this role you’ll need an Accredited Debt Advice Qualification to Caseworker Level (Institute of Money Advisers Certificate of Money Advice or Community Money Advice Level 3 Award in Debt Advice or similar) with a minimum one-year experience of providing comprehensive Debt Advice in line with Financial Conduct Authority and Debt Advice Quality Framework. Or alternatively an accredited Generalist Adviser with at least one year’s experience and are willing to complete the relevant Debt Adviser training qualification.

• A proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple cases on an ongoing basis,
• Ability to independently manage own workload and delivering on project KPIs

West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC) has been supporting survivors of all types of sexual abuse and sexual violence for over 35 years and provides a range of services including advocacy, therapy, education and prevention work.
WMRSASC’s vision is to eliminate all forms of sexual violence and the harm they cause. Our mission is to enable those who have been silenced by rape, sexual abuse and exploitation to have a voice; and to make a difference by delivering the best specialist support and prevention services.

The Person

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual to join our team of experienced professionals who are committed to making a difference to the lives of survivors of sexual violence and abuse. You will need to have a background in the sexual violence sector, or a related field, and have the skills to provide non-judgemental trauma informed support. This role will be prison-based. The Role

Working to a Strength-Based Approach focusing on individuals and community assets, you will work alongside other frontline practitioners.

You will be resourceful, able to articulate yourself appropriately on behalf of your service users and resilient to change and challenges. To support this, alongside line management and multi-disciplinary clinical meetings, you will be provided with regular psychologist led reflective practice.

Please Note: As a peripatetic Recover Navigator you will be required to travel to different bases throughout Northumberland covering Absences, illnesses etc. you wont be required to hold a caseload but may be required to work across all work streams  within the partnership  - Mileage will be paid.

Skills and Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or above or equivalent) or willing to work towards this in post.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes
• Understanding of and ability to implement interventions, including brief interventions MI, PSIs, CBT and ITEP.

The Digital Content Officer will be a key member of the Communications team as we expand our digital mobilisation work. It’s a great time to join time to join the team, as we look to further embed our new digital mobilisation strategy and build momentum on the recent success we’ve achieved online. In particular, this role will help support the team as we expand our digital mobilisation programme and respond to emergencies around the world. This will be a fast-paced and rewarding role that will drive forward our weekly email schedule and supercharge our website content. 

Working with the Communications, Public Engagement and Operations teams, you’ll plan and produce brilliant weekly emails and website content that inspire new and existing supporters to take action, such as signing petitions, making a financial gift or simply signing up to hear more about our work.This role is needed because we want to mobilise even more people behind our aims as a charity. We need more people in the UK to care about global hunger, and feel like – together – we can do something about it.

As a Trust & Corporate Fundraising Officer, you will support thousands of young people each year by engaging with companies, trusts, foundations and other funding bodies and securing funding for our programmes. Our programmes are designed to engage a wide range of young people and meet the needs of industry and education, through face-to-face and virtual delivery. Salary: Band B, £24k to £30k, depending on skills and experience.

Hours: It is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours a week) role and we offer remote, hybrid and flexible working options (EDT have a UK network of regional offices West Midlands, Plymouth, Glasgow, Manchester, Hertfordshire and Southampton).

Key Responsibilities:

· Identify and maximise opportunities to raise funds from companies, trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies.

· Manage a portfolio of existing and prospective partners from across companies, trusts and foundations.

·  Research and maintain an on-going, sustainable pipeline of prospects including new trusts and foundations, companies and industry sectors.

· Plan, prepare and write compelling applications for funding.

· Build effective relationships with funders in order to secure long-term funding and support. Achieve income targets that support the delivery and fundraising goals.

· Keep accurate, relevant, timely records on our CRM and maintain regular communication with relevant teams including operations, finance, marketing and fundraising teams.

· Create inspiring reports and updates for funders that bring to life the impact of their support and demonstrate first class stewardship.

· Where appropriate, attend events to meet funders and/or promote EDT.

· Work closely with relevant teams to embed monitoring and evaluation throughout the funding process. Report on progress, results and income in a timely manner.

· Work with the Fundraising Manager with analysing trends to support the fundraising strategy.

Competencies and Attributes:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organisation skills - can manage workload and deadlines and proactively work to achieve timely delivery.

· Experience of securing funding from grant makers and/or companies.

· Experience of planning, preparing and writing high quality bids, funding applications and reports.

· Knowledge of managing funders' relationships. Knowledge of databases/data management, including producing reports.

· A strong team player, who can communicate effectively and engage colleagues at all levels and develop strong and productive relationships.

· Attention to detail and IT proficiency.

· Understanding of applicable legislation.

· A knowledge of the not for profit/charity sector.

· The ability to travel to locations across the UK on occasions to meet colleagues, funders and partners.

The successful candidate will be required to fulfil an enhanced DBS/PVG check.
