The Position

We’re looking for a highly motivated senior programmes officer with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to run the Schools’ Outreach programmes. These include, but are not limited to, Work Experience Programmes, Corporate Mentoring Programmes and Corporate Insight Days

Annual Rate: £35,000 to £38,000 (pro rata)

Location: This role is mainly remote but there will be a requiremment to travel to schools, companies and event venues across England. Candidates must be based in England and must have the right to work in the UK.

Job Type: 12 months Fixed Term Contract – Full Time (35 hours per week)

Earliest Start Date: Immediate

We're seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Senior Programmes Officer (SPO) who is passionate about supporting online and offline learning and programmes. Responsibilities and Duties:

● Managing our Generating Genius Schools Outreach programmes

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1. Demonstrable programme administration experience

2. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, enabling independent drafting of documents, virtual learning content, and correspondence tailored to diverse audiences.

3. Proficient in numerical analysis, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy when handling complex data, employing a data-driven decision-making approach.

4. Experience in the use of student records systems and virtual learning environments, including proficiency in managing online assessments.

5. Proven experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders across two separate areas.

6. Strong time management and organisational skills, adept at meeting tight deadlines and managing competing priorities, particularly across Schools, with a willingness to seek and utilise support as needed.

7. Customer service experience, coupled with the ability to address complaints and service issues efficiently and professionally.

8. Experience of collaborating effectively within a diverse team, demonstrating a proactive approach, and possessing the capability to work autonomously, along with a dedication to fostering equality and diversity in the workplace.

You'll be supporting centrally run initiatives to ensure we can consistently and effectively link young people to valuable employer and partner opportunities.

· Supporting the team to develop new systems and processes to enhance our centrally managed programmes, ensuring they meet the expectations of our funders, partners and the needs of our beneficiaries.

· Supporting the team to generate income by encouraging our industry partners to become financial supporters of the Trust’s important work.

About You

What we’re looking for in our new Intern(s) includes:

· Ideally educated to Level 3 (BTEC, A- Level, etc) or equivalent experience.

· Enthusiastic about connecting young people to opportunities, particularly those facing significant barriers to work.

Person Specification

1. Essential criteria

• Experience at a senior level, ideally within the charity sector
• Knowledge and management experience of Health & Safety, fire safety regulation and law – IOSH/NEBOSH level
• Proven track record of implementing strategy and initiatives across a complex range of stakeholders
• Knowledge of best practice, governance and safeguarding policies relating to the care of young people and staff
• The ability to deliver business targets, with a focus on the growth and development of services across the organisation
• Demonstrable experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results
• Evidence of projects successfully completed on time and within budget
• Procurement – a track record of reviewing service contracts, suppliers regularly to reduce costs
• Excellent budget and decision-making skills
• Significant experience in improving ways of working, reviewing, and implementing new systems, processes, and cost-effective initiatives across a number of sites
• Secure understanding and commitment to the principles of sustainability and evidence of applying these values in a work context

Strong financial management is essential after a period of huge growth, as we work towards a new, sustainable funding model.

Working closely with the CEO, you’ll ensure adequate financial controls are in place and all underlying financial accounting information is accurate and up to date.

You’ll provide meaningful management reporting, forward projections, and strategic financial input. You’ll be a champion of efficient and user-friendly operational systems that support our governance.

Key responsibilities

- Identify, research and cultivate relationships with new and existing donors. Ensure our supporters receive regular relevant and compelling proposals which will inspire ongoing support and grow income

- Develop an excellent understanding of our donor pipeline. Identifying where individuals have shared interest areas and seek opportunities to maximise the reach of all our communications

- Where appropriate, identify and manage relationships with individual supporters to generate major donor and mid-level income and maximise fundraising opportunities. This may include face to face meetings, email communications and phone calls. This will also include supporting stewardship events within our hospitals.

- Work closely with the Charity Individual Giving Manager utilising the latest technology and techniques to ensure every supporter has a consistent and meaningful journey with our charity, as they progress from individual giving to mid-level giving and beyond 

- Hold a close working relationship with the Charity Programme team and relevant hospital staff to identify projects early and plan solicitation and impact reporting throughout the year

- Support the stewardship of potential legacy donors where major donor-type treatment is appropriate  

- Maintain meticulous records of all major gifts activity on the CRM system and working with the Charity Database & Insight Officer to extract data in a way which helps guide the major donor programme

- Comply with all relevant fundraising regulation including the Code of Fundraising Practice and GDPR

- Constantly scan the environment and liaise with peers in the sector to ensure we are delivering the best possible experience for our donors and are aware of the best possible ways to engage them

About the role

The Wilder Communities Officer will inspire and support community-led action for wildlife and empower local people to create more wildlife rich spaces on their doorstep.  Working with colleagues across the Trust, the officer will help to build a wilder future through local community action for nature, with a particular focus on rivers and wetland habitats, and linking in with our Species Survival in Hertfordshire’s Chalk Rivers project.

Project summary - Species Recovery for Chalk Steams – Wilder Communities

Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust has secured a grant from the Species Survival Fund, a partnership between Defra and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Species Survival Fund is enabling the Trust to deliver an ambitious restoration programme for our chalk river and wetland habitats across 11.15km of the River Lea Catchment in Hertfordshire.  As part of the project, with additional funding, the Trust will be working in local communities to highlight the importance of our chalk streams and wetland habitats and enabling groups and individuals to take their own local action for wildlife.

This community organising work will initially focus on communities in and around Welwyn Garden City and Hertford.

The Benefits Service within SEL Mind supports people with mental health problems to navigate the benefits system and challenge unfair decisions. The service currently operates across Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich, delivered in partnership with local NHS. It includes dedicated welfare benefits specialists who provide casework support, and a cross-area team of volunteers who assist with form filling and assessments for health and disability benefits.

We are looking for a part-time Advice Projects Coordinator to support a new advice clinic to help people with mental health problems complete complex forms for health and disability benefits. We are looking for someone with experience of providing help with health and disability benefits, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to support and motivate a passionate team of volunteers.

This role will involve:

• Supporting clients to fill out health and disability benefits forms to a high standard
• Coordinating appointment bookings and a volunteer rota
• Helping clients access wider advice and support services
• Providing ad hoc support and guidance for volunteers

Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

IPEM is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual to support colleagues and volunteers at our office on Tadcaster Road, York. The main focus of the job is to ensure that our office is a pleasant place to work for everyone and that our volunteers have the necessary administrative support to carry out their duties. The role works very closely with the Operations and Governance Manager who is accountable for the office and employee well-being. 

Based in York, the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) is an Educational Charity which acts as a Professional Body and Learned Society for a growing membership of more than 4,700 scientists, engineers and technologists working in hospitals, universities, and healthcare industries.

Having experience in an office-based role is essential, alongside a supportive and enthusiastic attitude towards work. The role is varied and interesting, with some regular routine tasks and some unusual requests that will require problem solving skills. You will support IPEM’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient business processes. This role involves administrative tasks, coordination, and communication to help optimise the operational workflow. You will need to be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy.

The role will primarily be based in our offices in York, but some travel within the UK may be required from time to time. IPEM promotes flexible working for staff. We ask all new staff to be office based for the first 6 months to facilitate training and relationship building with a range of colleagues in the office. We are looking for 2 part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Workers in Scotland, one based in North Scotland (Inverness area due to travel requirements and location of NHS services) and one based in Central Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

Our care, information and advocacy service coordinate our support for families, providing advice and practical support to enable individuals to access the services, benefits and equipment they are entitled to. The Factory Academy Programme Delivery Lead will play a crucial role in supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes while fostering an inclusive environment that prioritises openness and empowerment for all individuals involved. On top of this, the Programme Delivery Lead will drive the development of Factory Academy's college, community, and youth networks, to ensure that people all over Greater Manchester can access our programmes.

The key responsibilities for the Programme Delivery Lead include;

• Deliver and assess a variety of academic and vocational learning programs to national standards

• Actively contribute to the achievement of team and company objectives

• Lead the development of Factory Academy's college, community, and youth networks, building effective relationships for recruitment and enrichment opportunities

• Design and develop program content and materials, continuously enhancing the FA offering to meet industry requirements and expectations
