About the role
The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.
You will also ensure that staff who are hired and/or paid through PEOs receive the same positive, welcoming and nurturing experience as staff who are employed directly by Sunrise.
You will work closely with the Learning and Development Director and People and Culture team to assist in the design and delivery of areas that drive culture and transformation across Sunrise. This will include overseeing and utilizing our LMS system and supporting leadership development, JEDI, core compliance related areas and any other areas identified as part of learning needs analysis. You will also support the evaluation of our programmes, tools and techniques for delivering learning.
The role will also lead on developing the curriculum for our organisation wide onboarding programme and materials.
Key Responsibilities
Provide generalist people support that will include areas such as:
- Employee/industrial relations - providing support, advice and guidance on a range of issues including conflict management and working with and escalating when required to our people and culture lead(s)
- Providing onboarding support and coordinating issue of contracts and any updates to employment for specific for regions that you support
- Providing local hiring support working with the Hiring Advisor as needed, this may include coordination support, quality assuring our process and providing advice to hiring managers.
- Being first point of call to responds to queries /requests for your regions and escalating as appropriate to People and Culture Lead(s)
- Support the implementation of the JEDI strategy within the regions you work in
Managing communications between PEOs and Sunrise and their HR leads for Europe based staff (Remote, Safeguard,Velocity) with some support for North American based staff including:
- Facilitating employee life cycle to facilitate pre-boarding, payroll changes, onboarding and offboarding including exit interviews.
- Providing the PEO with guidance and updates on employee relations issues e.g. performance management, grievances, workplace health & safety, etc. by investigating issues, evaluating potential solutions and assisting in implementing agreed-upon actions via the PEO.
- Working with PEO’s to seek advice and expertise on labour law legislation and related risks, to ensure that alignment between Sunrise and PEO HR practices is balanced with compliance to local legislation.
Specialist areas will include:
Learning and Development
- Work with the Director of Learning and Development and People and Culture Leads to design, deliver and implement opportunities that are aligned with learning needs
- Work with Managers to regularly evaluate learning needs analysis and seeking input from L&D Director to design solutions where appropriate
- Support with sourcing, design and delivery of compliance related resources and learning for the organisation
- Utilize our learning management system to support learning activities and development and maintenance of the LMS
- Oversee and develop our approach to onboarding globally and lead on the design and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring regular updates are made as we grow
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning activities working with the L&D Director to develop a consistent framework
Other
- Leads and/or participates in HR-operational related projects, e.g. Intranet, HRIS, program reviews, etc
- Works with P&C Leads to provide relevant data and reports for board and organisation reporting
Required skills, knowledge and experience
- A working knowledge of, and experience in a people advisory role, in particular contemporary HR practices and related regulatory/compliance requirements.
- Prior experience (equivalent to 5 years of experience) and success in designing and delivering learning interventions with experience of remote content design and delivery.
- Knowledge of and experience of applying learning theories and best practices
- Experience of managing commercial partnerships and relationships with third party suppliers
- Experience of designing and delivering learning experiences globally taking into consideration JEDI and cultural differences.
- Experience of using learning technologies, learning management systems and/or virtual learning environments.
- A high level of emotional intelligence, with advanced communications and engagement skills (rapport building, influencing and trust building).
- Advanced level organisational, time management and administrative skills. Operational focussed project management experience, including competence in using project management tools (ideally Asana, or similar)
- Well developed experience of managing issues and conflict management, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, together with a positive, collaborative approach.
- Experience of facilitation and coaching and implementing coaching programmes (Essential)
- A strong commitment to the principles of justice, equality, diversity and inclusion within the context of developing learning opportunities

Job Purpose
With 10 years to achieve Agenda 2030, the SDG 6 targets on clean water, decent sanitation and good hygiene are among the furthest behind. Achieving universal, sustainable WASH will require a major mobilisation of resources, public demand and political will. Reporting to the Global Campaigns Director, this pivotal role works across the WaterAid federation to achieve the political and policy changes needed to ensure universal access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.
The Global Head of Campaigns will lead WaterAid's campaigning on one of our two global advocacy priorities (currently climate). They will drive our strategic direction and, create the campaigns plan to embed WASH in the climate change agenda, building up political momentum, broadening out our campaign alliances and influential champions. The post-holder will be a champion for campaigning within the organisation, ensuring we achieve a greater impact than the sum of our parts through effective and strategic campaigning across countries, regions and international levels to deliver WaterAid's mission of WASH for Everyone Everywhere by 2030.
Team Description
The Campaigns Team plays a leadership role across the WaterAid Federation to drive the design and delivery of WaterAid's major advocacy and campaigns efforts to achieve SDG 6. We deliver an ambitious agenda, grounded in national level change and impact, using a variety of campaigning tactics, including advocacy, lobbying and working with influential people and organisations
Accountabilities
Key accountabilities will remain flexible. Work plans, and targets may change significantly according to political and advocacy priorities. Overall, this role will;
Campaigns leadership
- Campaigning leadership of one of the two WaterAid global advocacy priorities (currently climate) in a way that delivers impact.
- Alongside our International Affairs team, lead WaterAid's international influencing strategy, working with other teams to drive our engagement in key global political processes that will drive forward our advocacy agenda, with a clear vision of what success looks like and how it contributes to the theory of change
- Build and lead public engagement and campaigning strategy to drive awareness and action on our global advocacy priority.
- Lead the transition from policy to public campaigning, working with communications colleagues to turn policy into public messaging and events.
- Lead the building of political support and champions with influential stakeholders, working with teams across WaterAid as relevant
- Lead the building of relationships and joint strategies with campaign coalitions, allies and partnerships that expands our network into the women's health/climate change sectors, complements our advocacy approaches, and ultimately drives further progress on our mutual campaign interests
- Lead the organisation to utilise a range campaigning approaches, moving beyond WaterAid's comfort zone where it needs to, that will deliver against the theory of change for the advocacy priority.

Campaigns operations
- Project Manage the delivery of the global advocacy priority, leading the execution plan, holding team members to account, chairing meetings and managing the budget.
- Provide operational leadership on cross-federation and cross-department collaboration on the global advocacy priority, to ensure the organisation has the buy-in and collaborates effectively for maximum impact.
- Work with WaterAid members, media and communications team, regional teams and country programmes on strategically important campaign moments to ensure strong strategic value and high-quality delivery
- Working with the fundraising teams to identify a pipeline of funding opportunities, collaborate in the development of fundraising proposals as opportunities emerge.
- Budget management responsibilities for the team
- Be an active participant in the Advocacy Steering Group (co-chair), the federation-wide group that has oversight of the roll out of both the global advocacy priorities, and raise up major issues to the Global Campaigns Director

Team management
- Line manage a Senior Campaigner that drives forward WaterAid campaign priorities and matrix manage a Campaigns Officer on specific projects (and external consultants as needed)
- Play an active role in facilitating strong team communication and coordination across policy, international affairs and campaigns teams within the department for effective delivery of the global advocacy priority.
- Deputies for the Global Campaigns Director when appropriate and undertake any other responsibilities commensurate with the role.

About the Team:
The Global Safeguarding Team has a global mandate to provide expertise and technical guidance across the WaterAid Federation.
The Team comprises a Global Head of Safeguarding, a Senior Global Safeguarding Specialist (line manager of this post), a Safeguarding Community Engagement Advisor (Africa) and this role, the Global Safeguarding Coordinator. The team is geographically dispersed. Depending on location and time zone of the successful candidate, flexibility in working hours will be required to attend line management meetings, team meetings and to liaise with the cross federation global Safeguarding Focal Point Network.
About the Role:
The Global Safeguarding Coordinator has been created within the Global Safeguarding Team to support with administration and logistics for the team and in support of the Safeguarding Focal Point Network. As Global Safeguarding Coordinator you will use organisational and administration skills to ensure the effective compliance and management of the team's activities, training and travel globally.
You will bring communication skills to write engaging safeguarding related content for staff across the WaterAid federation and your attention to detail will ensure safeguarding documents and case files are created in a timely and accurate manner.
You'll also:
Administration and Team Support
- Leading the Global Safeguarding Team's administration including responding to general enquiries, managing safeguarding data requests, note taking for meetings.
- Monitoring compliance with mandatory eLearning.
- Supporting the functioning of the Safeguarding Focal Point network.
- Opening and/or updating case files when new safeguarding concerns are registered.
Logistics and Training Support
- Updating and creating training resources
- Supporting the Team's travel and training events planning
Communications
- Designing and branding policies, tools and guidelines.
- Creating articles and re-designing the Safeguarding Hub on The Spring.
- Creating awareness raising materials for staff.
- Creating, highlighting and distributing community awareness raising resources for country programmes.

The Supporter Activation team sits within the Supporter Marketing team and plays a key role in our successful and innovative fundraising programme. The team is vital to the long-term income growth of the organisation; recruiting new individual givers through audience led communications across a range of activation channels.
About the Role:
As our Senior Marketing Officer (Supporter Activation) you will project lead our highly successful water bill insert campaign (managed in close collaboration with the Water Industry Partnership Team). Overseeing the delivery of these campaigns from briefing through to post-campaign analysis, as well as the development of new ideas to maximise the opportunities offered by this relationship.
You'll support the Marketing Manager and wider team in the day-to-day development, management and delivery of a number of fundraising campaigns. In particular our successful DRTV programme, managing the relationship with our telemarketing agency and support in planning and delivery of new creative.
You'll also:
- Managing our response handling agency to ensure effective conversion of response for our DRTV campaigns through regular monitoring and testing; providing training and development and analysing results regularly.
- Manage agency relationships; overseeing the management and development of any campaigns from briefing through to post-campaign analysis, collaborating with external partners, taking responsibility for resolving queries, trafficking all stages of the project and escalation of potential problems.
- Help develop and manage expenditure and income budgets. Help create the budget, to monitor monthly management accounts and key performance indicators and to undertake reforecasts as required.
- Regularly monitor, evaluate and analyse campaigns, providing regular results and recommendations for strategy development based on reviews and analysis.
- Liaise with team leaders and project managers in other departments to identify and implement new cross-working opportunities utilising specialist knowledge and experience in direct marketing.
- Remain up-to-date about developments in the external market-place and assess the suitability of new, innovative approaches for recruiting supporters to remain competitive.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that all supporter communications are consistent with the WaterAid brand, working closely with the International, Policy and Campaigns, and Communications teams.
About You:
- Successful track record of working in a direct marketing role, including proven experience of planning and executing campaigns across different channels, including digital.
- Experience of managing telemarketing, call handling and large-scale print campaigns
- Experience of managing creative development, including writing creative briefs, working with creative agencies, ensuring the correct sign off procedures are followed, and appropriate stakeholders consulted.
- Project management experience including identifying opportunities and managing through to implementation.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently, to manage varying competing priorities and meet strict deadlines with often changing priorities.
- The ability to work as part of a team and collaboratively with a diverse group to deliver cross-organisational projects or objectives.
- Excellent numeracy skills with attention to detail and experience in monitoring, evaluating and analysing campaigns.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience managing external suppliers.
Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- Experience of working in the voluntary / fundraising sector.
- Experience of delivering supporter direct mail and communication programmes.
- Experience managing new product development and/or innovation projects.
- Empathy with and understanding of overseas development issues.

The Head of Communications and Brand will oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of WaterAid's communications and brand portfolio, including external communications, media relations, editorial and brand management, digital content development, and public engagement.
This position calls for a high level of collaboration within WAC and the global WaterAid Federation. The Head of Communications and Brand must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across teams to prioritize conflicting needs and deadlines. - Utilize a data-driven approach to optimize WAC campaign outreach within the Canadian market, ensuring effective engagement and impact. Regularly prepare and present comprehensive reports on performance metrics and insights.
- Manage and maintain Google Enterprise Solutions and Google Not-for-Profit accounts, site directories, website domains, and SSL certificates.
- Contribute to the execution of WAC's national policy and advocacy strategy through strategic communications that demonstrate WaterAid's impact and leadership in our sector, as well as ensuring regular engagement with Canadian Members of Parliament and other decision makers.
- Work closely with the WaterAid leadership to manage opportunities to build WAC's thought leadership profile with key stakeholders through white papers, publications, and media, including social media as relevant.
- Support partnerships and expand upon collaborations with existing WaterAid partners and other stakeholders to advance advocacy objectives.
- Contribute to international development sector-wide advocacy and communications initiatives in Canada.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or another related field.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in marketing, media relations, and corporate/ nonprofit communications.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, with bilingualism in English and
- French being a strong asset.
- An entrepreneurial and collaborative work ethic. Diplomatic and able to work with teams from around the globe and different time zones.
- Experience of managing external public relations, web development, and other communications vendors.
- An understanding of international development issues.
- Experience working on advocacy plans and execution within the international development/NGO sectors would be a strong asset.
- A strong commitment to WaterAid's mission, vision, and values with the ability to effectively communicate this mandate in a manner that compels prospective supporters to join the cause.

About the role
Project Scotland, part of the national charity Volunteering Matters, supports young people to get on in life through the power of volunteering. Brighter futures work with pupils (aged 13-16), we offer disadvantaged pupils struggling to engage with the regular school curriculum the opportunity to undertake a volunteering placement as well as the option of having a mentor. We support and empower pupils to gain skills and confidence in a new environment within the wider community, promoting a sense of belonging, whilst extending horizons and aspirations.
We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and compassionate Youth Engagement Manager to join our team in Edinburgh. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values.
This role will be working in partnership with St Thomas of Aquins R.C High School, we have been delivering Brighter Futures here for two years and have funding till June 2025.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- To build relationships with secondary school pupils, particularly those on flexible timetables, who have complex and challenging barriers, acting in a non-judgemental way to support them through their Brighter Futures journey

- Provide pre and post volunteering practical and emotional support to each pupil, helping to build their confidence and identify achievable goals as well support the pupil to complete awards and qualifications linked to their volunteering.

We’re embarking on an intensive 3-year fundraising strategy that will enable Westonbirt Arboretum to achieve their 10-year vision. We work with a bid writing agency to secure all major grants, and we’re looking for a Fundraising Manager that can add equal attention to our individual giving strategy. The successful candidate will manage our existing fundraising real estate including our benches, leaves for life, and Wills & legacies campaigns, while adding a fresh view on opportunities for our birthday celebrations next year. You will Chair our Joint Fundraising Committee with our partners at Forestry England; lead on the pipeline development; project manage activities across trust & grant fundraising, individual giving, major donors and appeals; and support the CEO with awarding grants and reporting the impact.
The role reports to the CEO and is responsible for developing and implementing our fundraising strategy as well as managing relationships with key stakeholders.

1. Charity Governance: Working with the ELT and the charity’s Board of Trustees and Committees to lead the charity. Communicating progress against KPIs and challenges effectively, overseeing budgets and risk, and identifying resources needed.
2. Charity Leadership: Working with ELT, to act as an internal and external figurehead for the charity, embodying its culture and modelling its values, and supporting the development of staff across the organisation.
3. Executive Decision Making: Working with SLT to make decisions on key charity priorities and policies, e.g. expansion plans, programme adaptations, major resourcing decisions, and recruitment of senior staff.
4. Business Development: Working with the charity’s CPO to source new business opportunities both in terms of growing and expanding the charity’s core programmes and identifying new innovations and funding. This includes managing key stakeholders (e.g., senior leaders in colleges, sixth forms and training providers).
5. Operations and Finances: Working with the COO to ensure the financial stability of the charity and protecting and managing the charity’s assets.
6. Impact: Overseeing the work of the Director of Impact to ensure that the charity strengthens its approach to monitoring and evaluation, and that all preparations are successfully completed ahead of a potential independent external evaluation of our core programme in 25/26.
7. External Affairs: Overseeing both our fundraising and advocacy workstreams, including the development of relationships with new funders and politicians and policymakers. Representing the charity at external events (including certain conferences and fundraising events), and safeguarding the charity’s reputation and values, ensuring that risks are properly recognised and mitigated.
Required Experience / Characteristics
- Clear commitment to the work of the charity, its mission and its values
- A proven senior leader, with experience of delivering against ambitious targets across multiple departments or programmes and working with a Board of Trustees or directors
- An excellent relationship builder, including the development of commercial relationships with senior stakeholders (e.g., in the education sector, third sector and/or government)
- Demonstrable experience in exercising strategic development and sound judgment
- Strong line management skills, including evidence of managing and developing teams and nurturing autonomous senior leaders
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of managing diverse stakeholders including senior leaders, funders, politicians and/or policymakers
