Job Purpose
Your role will be to develop and deliver our programme of social and physical activities for people aged 50+ across Sandwell. You will also work with the programme manager to design and implement evaluation systems to demonstrate the impact social and physical activities have on the wellbeing of older people.
Description of Service
Age UK Birmingham & Sandwell provides a range of services and programmes for people aged 50 and over.
The Sandwell Community Support programme is dedicated to reducing loneliness and isolation amongst older people through the provision of social and physical activities across Sandwell.
Principal Duties:
· To develop new social and physical activities for older people
· To engage with older people to understand their aspirations for activities and develop community offer in response
· To prepare material and actively promote the activities of the programme to citizens, partners, and other stakeholders
· To maintain accurate and confidential records of all activities and outcomes
· To develop contacts, links, and relationships with other programmes such as NNS
· To represent the team at external meetings where appropriate
· To work with the Line Manager to achieve targets to meet funding contract requirements
· Risk assesses working environments as appropriate in line with AUKB’s Health & Safety policy
· To support volunteers assisting the service
· Make referrals/signpost to Age UK Birmingham and Sandwell colleagues and other appropriate agencies and organisations for specialist support
· Report all incidents and accidents promptly to the Line Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our Portfolio and Planning team as a Project Manager. As a Project Manager, you are responsible for managing projects from initiation to competition, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required acceptance and quality criteria. This role involves planning, executing and overseeing one or more projects while effectively communicating and managing stakeholder expectations.
This role will sit within the Portfolio and Planning Team and therefore there will be some PMO and Planning activities to be undertaken on an ad hoc basis.
Key responsibilities:
- You are responsible for scoping and completing all associated project documentation (i.e. Business Cases, Scoping Definition Documents, Project Initiation Documents, RAID Logs, Benefit Profiles etc.)
- You will develop detailed project plans for the full project lifecycle.
- You will maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders and develop robust stakeholder management plans.
- You will identify project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies and develop mitigations which will be captured within the RAID log that will be regularly reviewed and updated.
- You will ensure all project deliverables follow the Quality Assurance Process.
- You will manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs by completing change management requests and following change management protocols.
- You are responsible for all project closure activities and will conduct post-project evaluations and document lessons learned.
- You ensure accuracy of administration with clear audit processing
- You will maintain records of responses and actions taken against recommendations from meetings
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant experience of successful project and change management.
- Proven project management experience, in particular projects with an element of complex procurement activities.
- Experience of planning and organising a broad range of multi-stranded and complex projects, plans and strategies, formulating and adjusting as required.
- Specialist knowledge through experience of project management, cost management, procurement management, quality assurance, and risk management.
- Experience of working within a PMO environment.
- Effective analytical skills, able to review and interpret highly complex and sometimes conflicting information and data and translate into reports, scenarios, schedules of accommodation and specifications, presenting options and recommendations.
- Effective communication and presentation skills (both verbally and non-verbally), dealing with highly complex or sensitive information communicated to a wide range of individuals and groups at all levels internally and externally.
- Experience of supporting and coordinating business plans across a number of teams.
- Experience of drafting a wide range of reports with an ability to summarise a complex set of facts, clearly, accurately, and succinctly to a wide audience.
- Negotiation, persuasion, and motivational skills, able to gain co-operation at all levels. To include an ability to calmly resolve sensitive issues in a professional manner
- Computer literate with advanced keyboard skills and experience in the use of Microsoft and other software packages for data analysis and report-writing
- An ability to plan and think strategically
- An ability to identify and understand risks to a project(s)
- An ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience in minute taking and maintain accurate records of responses and actions taken against recommendations from meetings.

A specialist Arts University based in central London is seeking an IT Support Manager for a full-time permanent role. The organisation is a prestigious arts focused University with around 600 students. They have two sites – one being the main teaching campus near Kings Cross, the other an art gallery with some teaching capacity, on the Strand.
The role is paying a starting salary of £50,942 per annum plus an excellent package including a leading pension and 36 days annual leave. The role will be based onsite predominantly at the Kings Cross site – working from home 1 day per week may be considered.
Reporting to the Head of Information Services, Systems & Technology (ISS&T) and working in a small IT team of around 5 people, this role line manages 1 IT Support Officer and takes the lead on the service delivery aspects of the IT team. This covers frontline user support and managing the daily operations of the IT function. The organisation predominantly deploy Windows devices, but they have an increasing number of MACs so experience of supporting IOS would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will come from an IT Support/Manager background, should have experience managing small teams, and should have a strong user focus and service delivery background. Experience from within the Higher Education, Arts, Charity, or Membership sector would be advantageous for the role. The role will also involve the development of a new asset management tool and leading on a telephony focused project.
The post holder will:
-Manage the Service Desk for both sites and the relationship with the 3rd party providers
-Monitor and report on existing service to assist in developing the IT & AV Support Service
-Provide professional and technical leadership and operational management to the IT Helpdesk team with a dotted line to the AV Support team
-Implement service standards and develop common systems and processes based on industry best practice.
-Ensure that the IT & AV Support Service is efficient, effective and can adapt to changing circumstances.
-Work alongside the Project Manager and IT Operations Manager in the delivery of IT projects
-Provide technical, project and administrative support to the Head of ISS&T
-Maintain and administer Active Directory and Entra user and service accounts
-Maintain licensing for all software products and subscriptions
-Support the Head of ISS&T with the purchase and invoicing of hardware, software a consumables
-Manage and maintain IT asset information
-Ensure documentation and alerts are publicised and maintained on the IT Services Hub
-Manage increased IT service delivery required to support new and existing students during Welcome Week and the beginning of each new academic year
Candidate requirements:
-Degree level qualification and ITIL qualifications desirable
-Recent proven experience of leading and developing an effective IT Support team and helpdesk service in a complex environment. Including setting targets, identifying training needs and delivering development plans
-Good technical knowledge of various hardware and software technologies including Windows, desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, MFDs, Microsoft OS, Mac OS, Microsoft Active Directory, M365, and Adobe.
-Recent experience in a Service Delivery role with experience of managing, allocating and monitoring IT support tickets, setting KPIs to improve service delivery, managing underperforming teams and suppliers, setting up new services such as staff onboarding, asset management, procurement etc & managing 3rd party suppliers
-Experience or an interest in the higher education, arts or charity sector advantageous

About the Role
As Principal Consultant in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) portfolio, you will be critical in expanding and enhancing the portfolio’s work. Reports to: Head of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Portfolio
Direct reports: Up to 3 reportees.
Location: UK-based candidates must be eligible to work in the UK upon appointment. SDDirect's Head Office is located in Old Street, London. We operate a hybrid working model with flexibility on the frequency of office visits, which can be discussed further during the recruitment process.

Appointment term: Full-time and Part-time hours will be considered. A minimum of 4 days is required. This is a permanent contract.
Remuneration Package: This role is Band E, with a salary range of £55,000 - £85,000. Salary upon appointment will be commensurate with experience and in line with team members in equivalent roles.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Principal Consultant in the MEL Portfolio, you will focus on providing technical and thought leadership in feminist evaluation. You will lead complex, multi-country and mixed-methods evaluations, which will focus on GEDSI as it relates to one of our SDDirect portfolios. You may also be involved in designing and delivering research across our other portfolios. In addition to delivery, you will also be involved in winning new work, leading evaluation, research or MEL bid development and raising SDDirect’s external profile and reputation.
Technical Design, Delivery & Leadership
· Design and deliver a range of mixed-methods evaluations, often in shifting and unpredictable contexts, including impact, formative, summative or process evaluations with a GEDSI focus. This will include the design of the approach, data collection tools and methodologies (surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, workshops, etc.) and analysis of the data collected.
· Support the development of SDDirect’s body of knowledge and practice on feminist evaluation, staying up to date with current thinking on models, methods, good practice and relevant debates.
· Provide leadership to SDDirect contracts as relevant, including project management responsibilities, client liaison, and support to and technical leadership of consultancy teams.
· To use negotiation and diplomacy skills and to confidently manage challenging conversations.
· To ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, to high-quality standards, and in keeping with SDDirect’s ethics and ethos.
· To provide support to SDDirect’s other portfolios (Equal Education, Safeguarding, Green Economies and Infrastructure, Governance and Inclusive Societies, Gender-Based Violence), as appropriate on MEL or in research design and delivery.
· To provide technical support to other members of the MEL portfolio to support their growth and development. This would include providing actionable and constructive quality assurance and feedback to other team members.
Raising SDDirect’s Profile
· To establish and maintain close relationships and effective networks with our clients, partners and consultants, drawing on their own professional networks.
· To represent SDDirect at meetings, conferences and on social media and ensure that SDDirect’s work on GEDSI and evaluation is disseminated and profiled externally in a clear and accessible way, especially with key fora in the MEL sector.
· To provide internal thought leadership and professional development activities on MEL, raising the capacity of other staff on MEL.
Business Development
To contribute to the growth of SDDirect’s portfolio of work in this technical area, through:
· Identifying areas of growth and new business opportunities through close and direct contact with clients, potential clients, partners, potential partners, in-house staff and external consultants.
· Supporting the Business Development Team in identifying relevant opportunities to expand the portfolio and pipeline.
· Act as technical lead on MEL bids, bringing a rigorous understanding of evaluation design and GEDSI relevant analytical frameworks for relevant bids and proposals to clients.
· Engaging with and influencing emerging opportunities and delivery concepts and ensuring SDDirect’s MEL offering is responsive to market requirements and aligns with SDDirect’s equitable partnership principles.

Our Philanthropy Lead will join an established High Value team, who collectively raise in excess of £5m+ a year. We are looking for a visionary, dynamic, and empathetic leader who is excited to work closely with the Parkinson’s community to secure vital donations towards our strategic priorities - including our multi-year Parkinson’s UK Nurse Appeal, ground-breaking Parkinson’s research and the Virtual Biotech, our international drug discovery programme.
This role will lead, influence and embed the major donor strategy and line manage a high performing team. You'll deliver your own prospect/donor cultivation activity and generate new leads by working with our committed and high profile senior volunteers.
You'll collaborate with colleagues and leaders across the charity to identify prospects and opportunities to give at a transformational level. You'll present and inspire philanthropic support for our work across the board, ranging from our much needed information and support services through to our Parkinson’s Virtual Biotech drug development programme, which is leading the way in driving forward new pioneering treatments.

About you
You will be responsible for supporting the strategic development of our publications, including journals and an open research platform. They will be responsible for generating high-quality content in our titles and support the ongoing movement toward open science. The post holder will ensure we support the microbiology community in our publishing activities, working closely with colleagues, external stakeholders with microbiologists in academia, industry, and infection science environments.
The Publishing Editor will also support and manage editors and editorial boards, monitoring performance and running recruitment as and where required.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Manager to join the HR team on a full-time basis. This role will be responsible for leading and supporting in the delivery of our staff training programme, overseeing all our people development activities, and ensuring that our statutory training requirements are met. Our largest cohort for training is our care and support staff in our college, residential houses, adult day service, and supported living houses. Fleet Administrator

About the role:
This is a newly created part time role following a period of growth. The Fleet Administrator will be responsible for the efficient administration of the fleet to ensure that Rainbow Trust vehicles are managed effectively, accurate records are maintained, and costs are minimised, working closely with suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the fleet with minimal disruption.
The Fleet Administrator will form a vital part of the Finance and Operations Team supporting the Facilities & IT Manager in the management of the Rainbow Trust fleet. Rainbow Trust operates a fleet of approximately seventy vehicles situated across our nine regional teams. It is vitally important that our Family Support Workers have a reliable vehicle for attending family visits and transporting families to hospital. In addition, the Fleet Administrator will be required to assist the Facilities and IT manager with ad-hoc tasks/projects according to the workload.
Full training will be provided and previous experience of managing a fleet is not required, although is desirable. A good level of maths, excellent communication, planning and Microsoft Excel skills are required to be successful in this role.
This is an excellent opportunity to maintain a breadth of fleet administrator experience with increased responsibility.

This exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic Executive Assistant to support the Strategy and Knowledge Directorate.
The Strategy and Knowledge Directorate is responsible for developing and monitoring the NSPCC strategy, influencing public policy, championing an evidenced-based approach in all our work, designing impactful services and developing and managing our knowledge and information services.
The Executive Assistant reports to the Director of S&K and supports her and the Senior Management Team to manage the administrative work involved in running the Directorate. As an Executive Assistant, you're expected to possess the skills to work flexibly within a team; to organise and prioritise your workload; respond to deadlines; and deal with confidential sensitive material. The successful candidate will need to be committed, organised and flexible, with a real passion for the work they do and a desire to contribute to making a difference to the lives of children.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support to the Director of Strategy and Knowledge (50%), Head of Knowledge and Information (20%), the Head of Strategy Delivery (10%) and the Special Adviser – Child Safety Online Taskforce (20%).
- Responsible for agendas and action logs for Directorate meetings, Senior Management Team meetings, Senior Managers Forum and various internal and external Board meetings.
- Being an accessible and approachable member of the Directorate, proactively responding to needs and developing an excellent knowledge of NSPCC processes and procedures.

Join our retail team as an Assistant Shop Manager at our Dorking shop and support the Shop Manager to maximise shop profit by achieving budgeted income, controlling shop expenditure in line with the shop's budget, and by recruiting and retaining a motivated team of volunteers. You will support the promotion of sustainable shopping and the shop’s social media to increase audience reach, attract customers, donors and volunteer supporters to deliver the Retail Strategy.
Income generation
- To support the Shop Manager to manage the Retail budget to achieve agreed targets:
- Help maximise shop sales by achieving agreed targets both through donated stock and bought in/new goods. This involves proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed amounts and stock planning.
- Achieve Gift Aid sales conversion target through maximising new donor sign up and encouraging repeat donations.
- Achieve the shops additional fundraising activities i.e., Christmas appeal sales targets through involving the shops team.
- Maintain high levels of shop presentation by merchandising and housekeeping to agreed standards as set out in the Shops Operations manual.

Administration and compliance
- To ensure adherence to The Children’s Trust policies and procedures, in particular ensuring full compliance of the shops in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Trading Standards, Risk Assessments, Gift Aid, Lottery and all other legal or statutory requirements:
- Assist in controlling shop expenditure through effective cost control of weekly expenses.
- Ensure minimum losses of both stock and cash by following bank and till procedures and safeguarding the property of The Children’s Trust at all times.
- Adhere to all Policies and Procedures including those relating to the compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities, Gift Aid and Lottery.
- Complete all administration to meet the requirements, standard and deadlines for whom this work is produced.
- Embrace the change and development of new technology in the shop, for example The Loop (internal intranet) and Chariot (EPOS till system).
- Timely efficient responses to requests for information including voice and email messages.

- To support the Shop Manager to ensure the Shop’s team are recruited, retained and developed:

- Deputise and be accountable for all Shop Manager duties as and when necessary, in their absence due to sickness, holiday or recruitment.

- Attend where appropriate, training courses relevant to the development of the role and Retail Sales meetings if required and cascade information to team as appropriate.
