The Role

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced Housing Operations manager to be the lead for income, service, and performance management of Causeway’s housing portfolio. 

Our Organisation

You will work a combination of office, client-home, community, and home-based working. Causeway is a 4-day week employer, so you will work 32 hours over 4 days a week, with no loss of pay. About You

You will have experience of managing housing services, in a general-needs, homelessness setting. You will have experience of day to day management or supervision of staff and a good understanding of effective techniques, processes and approaches to staff management. You will have xperience of liaising with stakeholders and maintaining constructive working relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers such as landlords and contractors. You will be skilled in organising a demanding and varied workload, planning work and projects and successfully completing these to set deadlines.

The Donmar Warehouse raises more money as a percentage of income than any other subsidised theatre in the country. Each year we raise around half of our turnover from a strong combination of individuals, corporates, and trusts and foundations.

The Senior Individual Giving Manager (SIGM) plays a vital role in the Development department during an exciting time in our theatre's history. This role leads on planning and delivery for the Donmar's membership scheme as well as Major Donors up to £10,000.

Delivering excellent customer service to individual donors, the SIGM will ensure the timely renewal of annual memberships and fulfilment of all benefits, working with the Membership Officer to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. This role will also work closely with the Head of Philanthropy to establish the strategy for the team, identifying further income opportunities from prospects and existing supporters across our productions and participation programmes, and leading on the delivery of campaigns.

Terms: Permanent, Full Time

Work Pattern: Hybrid working is available once the probation period has been completed and with prior agreement with line manager.

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience

The successful candidate will beresponsible for maximising income through charitable trusts and foundations, develoing our trust and foundations fundraising programme in line with our strategic plans and objectives, and will be responsible for researching, applying, and securing income from Trusts and Foundations. They will also be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships, and meeting reporting requirements.

Trusts and Foundations

• Working with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing and the Head of Day Hospice and Wellbeing Services, create the annual Trusts and Foundations Plan for City Hospice, which features in the annual fundraising plan.
• Manage, motivate, research, identify, and apply for major and minor grant funding streams to support the core services and projects of City Hospice.
• Using a range of research tools, identify potential trusts and foundations that may support City Hospice and develop a pipeline of new and existing prospects.
• Match new and existing trusts and foundations to City Hospice projects and services and identify core funding opportunities.
• Work with the Head of Day Hospice and Wellbeing Services to identify appropriate projects and services for funding.
• Create compelling and tailored trust and foundations funding applications that motivate and inspire trusts and foundations to support City Hospice to realise its exciting ambitions.
• Create templates for generic proposals as appropriate to the funder.
• Implement an effective stewardship model that maintains and builds on relationships with existing Trusts & Foundations.
• Work with the relevant teams to collect information and ensure donors receive regular and timely progress reports including appropriate recognition of their support, taking into account any specific requirements by the funder.
• Develop positive relationships with Trust & Foundation representatives and monitor supporter feedback, sharing appropriately with the Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Manager.
• Brief relevant staff about funders before funder meetings as appropriate.
• Meet regularly with operational teams and SMT to identify budgeted activities that can be packaged as projects and matched to the appropriate funders
• Manage the reporting process for existing and new grants
• Work with operational colleagues to collate the information required to support funded projects and programmes and provide feedback and evaluation to grant funders following successful bids.
• Co-ordinate regular Project Oversight Group meetings, chaired by the Finance Director, to ensure grant funded projects are on track and are reported in accordance with deadlines.
• Manage a small team of volunteers who research and apply for suitable grants.

• Finance and Administration

• Develop and maintain accurate reporting and application systems and share information with the wider team as appropriate.
• Maintain effective administration of grants received.
• Transition existing recording systems to Raiser’s Edge CRM system.
• Meet targets set for trust fundraising income with the support of the Head of Day Hospice and Wellbeing Services and staff across the relevant departments including Clinical Services.
• Provide regular progress and income reports to the Fundraising and Marketing Director as required.

• Marketing and Communications

• Identify media and PR opportunities for trust donors in collaboration with the Fundraising and Marketing Director and the Marketing Assistant, including ensuring appropriate acknowledgements and recognition.
• Represent City Hospice, as required, at events with fundraising peers and with groups of supporters, including giving talks or presentations as necessary.
• Participate in internal/external meetings and attend training events and other functions as necessary.

• Other

• Assisting at fundraising events (for which TOIL will be given)

Salary: £26,000 pro rata

Hours: 14 hours per week (equivalent to 2 working days) – ideally Wednesday and Thursday.

1 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1.1         Office Management

• Oversee the day to day running of the office, including communication with enquirers and supporters.
• Ensure office is compliant with Health and Safety requirements. Ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
• Ensure resources, IT and communication equipment is appropriate and available for staff and volunteer needs.
• Maintain office equipment, stationery and supplies.
• Be the point of contact for the landlord and any other tenants in the shared building.

1.2       Finance (record keeping)

• Managing Petty Cash
• Recording financial expenditure and income from events for the book-keeper
• Recording donations both online and offline
• Maintaining records by keeping the scanned copies of receipts and payments in the designated files both offline and online.
• Any other record keeping work as agreed with the Executive Director.

1.3       Administrative support to Fundraising events

• Administration of sponsorship fundraising events – registration of runners/riders/walkers and their donations.
• Helping set up donation pages for sponsorship online.

1.4       Communications

• Using online tools to design and distribute Action Village India’s e-newsletter.
• Uploading information on Action Village India’s website.
• Maintaining and servicing the donor and members’ database.
• Correspondence with supporters and donors.
• Production and printing of leaflets, advertisements and maintaining records of appeals.
• Distribution of mailings for appeals, newsletters and to our membership – including email groups.
• Managing all donations to the organisation, including CAF, standing orders, Just Giving and other internet sites and correspondence with individual donors.
• Any other administrative and communications work based on the organisations’ requirements and as agreed with the Executive Director.

1.5       Information Technology

• Maintaining IT equipment including updating anti-virus software.
• Maintaining Action Village India’s filing systems (hard copy, soft and back-up files).
• Liaison with Action Village India’s website designer/manager, editing and uploading documents and photos to website.
• Managing email accounts.
• Managing our telephone and broadband accounts.

1.6       AVI Activities

• Management of office-based volunteers as agreed with the Executive Director.
• Booking rooms and other support for Action Village India’s trustees’ meetings, AGM and other events.

We work within a coordinated partnership response to violence against women and girls as part of the Angelou Partnership. Within the partnership ADVANCE provides independent domestic abuse advocacy and support for women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.

The IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specialising in working with clients at high risk. They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice and civil remedies and related matters, support women to attend court where necessary, and coordinate the provision of multi-agency support. Part of the role will to be to establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with services providing services to clients and partner agencies within the Angelou Partnership. As a Core IDVA will work across the boroughs mentioned above, under the guidance of the team leaders and project manager.

To be successful as the Core IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

To be successful as a Core IDVA, you’ll need to have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse sector. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic abuse, of supporting women involved in mental health services, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

You will be responsible for various aspects of facilities management, health and safety, planning and delivering projects within the centre, managing a small team, financial management and planning.

Excellent communication skills are required in both written and verbal communication with a friendly and welcoming manner. You will need to be flexible in your working approach, working both independently and as part of a team to deliver the aims of the charity. This will include working evenings and occasional weekends.

About Bankside Open Spaces Trust:

Bankside Open Spaces Trust is an environmental and volunteering charity. We were launched in 2000 by a group of local people with an aim to improve the SE1 area, making it a greener, more beautiful place to live and work.

We manage and maintain open spaces, welcome volunteers from both the community and the corporate sector, run regular gardening groups, support park steering groups, organise and take part in public events and educational projects, and offer advice to others. We collaborate closely with local residents and businesses to champion green spaces.

Thousands of people enjoy our open spaces every day. Each of our sites is unique, with its own atmosphere, identity and sense of place. This Grade 6 rated post will support the systems which ensure that Alumni & Development deliver successful fundraising by providing efficient and accurate prospect research support to the fundraising team. Daily tasks will include identifying, researching and rating high net worth individuals and organisations, identifying event speakers, guests and award nominees. The post-holder will also have responsibility for prospect pool management and supporting the research needs of the fundraisers, and wider University for writing prospect profiles, event briefings and due diligence reports, while keeping the database up to date.

Reporting into the Finance Business Support Manager, you will provide support to the 4 Finance Business Partners in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting and planning for the Fund. Alongside this, you will provide support to colleagues to ensure there is cover across all processes in the Finance Team. The Fund pride themselves on developing individuals, this role allows for an Accountant or Finance Assistant who is part qualified and growing to be supported with the next step in their career. 

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Support the delivery of timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting
• Support the key monthly reporting deliverables ensuring grants, salary, operating cost and headcount transactions are posted and recorded accurately in the Management Accounts
• Undertaking financial system reconciliations 
• Support the quarterly forecasting and the annual budget reporting
• Support the statutory year end reporting
• Review and improve current processes and reporting
• Support the Finance Business Partners to drive efficiencies and contribute to the strategic direction of the Fund 

The ideal candidate should have experience working within a finance department and have an enquiring mind and demonstrate good attention to detail, along with strong analytical and communication skills. The role takes a hybrid approach to working with at least 1 day per week in the Birmingham office. A study package is available.
