We are on the lookout for talented comms experts who understand the importance of effective, accurate, timely online communications and can enhance the work of our expanding social media moderation team.

About the role

Our dedicated team moderate on our full service accounts (all organic content and paid ads) as well as one off campaigns and appeals for some of the most recognisable charities in the sector. 

This role is perfect for skilled comms experts who can provide excellent supporter care, and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9am (or earlier), wrap up by 9pm and adhere to our sub-three hour response time. 

Our moderators must have a minimum of three years’ in-house, third sector comms experience. 

As a Social Media Moderator, you would be responsible for:

• Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines and tone of voice at all times

• Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

• Managing your own time and work on own initiative

• Working across a range of social media management tools

• Responding/actioning to all comments and queries in under three hours

• Maximising donations when required 

• Going above and beyond at all times to provide supporters with an incredible experience

Our moderation takes place between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday-Sunday. 

Different accounts will require varying levels of ‘active’ hours (defined as time spent taking action). You will split your active hours between 9am and 9pm. For example, for an account which requires three active hours, you might carry out your work in six, thirty minute instalments throughout the shift.

As you gain experience, you will be allocated multiple accounts which will enable you to increase your hours worked. 

Whilst you need to be on hand to monitor your accounts during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' professional comms experience, working with a large charity with an active social media following. They will understand the importance of building positive engagement and relationships with the public and be committed to act in the best interests of our charity partners.

This role is part of the FearFree Service which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse victims, perpetrators, and their children.

The Assessment and Early Interventions Team act as the gateway for all referrals to the Devon Service, and additionally provides a helpline service. Working within an experienced and established team, the Assessment and Early Interventions Advisor will:

- Triage referrals.

- Answer the helpline.

- Conduct risk assessments and offer immediate safety planning advice.

- Respond to safeguarding concerns.

- Signpost victims and professionals to other support agencies where appropriate.

- Offer specialist domestic abuse advice and support to professionals.

- Deliver educational and bespoke support sessions to medium risk victims of domestic abuse.

In addition, the role requires the building of effective relationships both internally within the Devon Team and externally, supporting a multi-agency approach.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Working within the agreed policies, principles, and codes of practice of FearFree, the post holder will:

Working with vulnerable people and risk management:

· Provide a victim focused service, with an understanding of the impact of trauma on vulnerable people.

· Demonstrate specialist knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse and how this may impact on the wider family unit.

· Provide advice, guidance and support to people who are victims of domestic abuse.

· Assess, manage, and review risks to service users, colleagues, and self, including the use of the DASH riskassessment tool and SOAG.

· Make safeguarding referrals where appropriate: including Children’s Social Care, Adult Social Care, Mental Health crisis teams and MARAC.

· Work directly with individuals or groups as agreed with the Team Manager.

· Safeguard the health and welfare of service users and their families.

· Respond to emergencies and crisis situations including supporting a service user to access a place of safety if appropriate.

· Work with service users sensitively to share information, particularly MARAC outcomes.

· Provide support on the helpline to victims of domestic abuse and other agencies.

· Assist, encourage and empower service users to make their own decisions and choices as appropriate.

Team working 

· Offer professional advice and support to multi-agency partners.

· Feedback to the Team Manager, Devon Service Manager, Head of Service and/or other Support Workers any information related to the service users support needs or risk issues, and progress on support tasks.

· Work effectively in partnership with multiple statutory and voluntary agencies to enhance service delivery, safety, and safeguarding.

· Contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro-active approach, including cover for other team members’ holiday and sickness.

· Work closely with other agencies, to network with, make referrals to and maintain good relationships with, and be able to disseminate information appropriately.

Administrative duties 

· Help provide a responsive support service with a high quality of customer care.

· Answer the telephone and take messages and referrals, act on messages and referrals, and provide a triage service for all referrals.

· Assist in the referral process and follow-up, contacting other agencies and helping to arrange appointments.

· Assist in the assessment and allocation of service users.

· Update written and computerised records with accurate clear information to deadline, including maintaining details of any special needs required by service users.

· Assist with monitoring and evaluation policies and procedures and producing reports.

Additional tasks and responsibilities: 

· Ensure personal safety for self, other staff, and service users at all times.

· Participate in personal training and supervision opportunities and attend team meetings.

The Head of Governance  and Compliance is looking for a full-time Governance Coordinator to support the Governance Team at KCLSU.

Governance Coordinator (Visiting Speakers) Role

Core Tasks:

Visiting Speakers Responsibility:

Our Governance Coordinator is the key point of contact for all External Speaker bookings by KCLSU student societies and activity groups. 

Responsibilities include:

• Complete initial checks, and any required risk assessments, for all external speaker bookings, against the trigger criteria within the policy.
• Coordinate mitigations such as chairing training for events that are high risk.
• Liaise with Kings to enable student groups with external speakers to book rooms for events.
• Organise meetings with student groups to improve awareness, knowledge and understanding of how the KCLSU works to support freedom of speech at King’s.
• Work with the Head of Governance and Compliance on issues arising from External Speaker events or risk assessments. 
• Support reviews and provide data for the Trustee Board or Sub-Committees as required.
• Maintain and continue the development of automated recording processes to record, track and analyse trends for visiting speakers.
• Support the Head of Governance and Compliance in developing and delivering student group training and inductions for trustees and staff as required.
• Coordinate the work of the Governance Assistant in liaising with students and societies regarding arrangements for low to medium risk events, where no referrals need to be made for a full, joint risk assessment with King’s.
• Support the joint KCLSU and King’s College London freedom of speech initiatives through the work of the Freedom of Speech Advisory Group (FESAG) (Operations Group), agenda setting and servicing meetings

The post-holders shall also:

• Assist with the planning and scheduling of governance and policy related agenda items for the annual cycle of Board and Sub-Committee meetings;
• Support the governance-related policy review process, including developing new or updated policies, and their effective implementation;
• Provide support for the effective communication of Board and Sub-Committee information (non-confidential) to staff and student community to meet the requirements of the Articles;
• Jointly service with the Head of Governance and Compliance taking minutes for meetings for Board, Sub-committees and other governance events;

•  Assist with the updating of annual policy and governance documents ready for incoming Officer and Student Trustee training;

About the Role

As Principal Consultant in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) portfolio, you will be critical in expanding and enhancing the portfolio’s work. This will include developing bids for evaluations and other contracts, leading the delivery of evaluation contracts and growing the network and reputation of SDDirect. Summary of role

Reports to: Head of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Portfolio

Direct reports: Up to 3 reportees.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Principal Consultant in the MEL Portfolio, you will focus on providing technical and thought leadership in feminist evaluation. You will lead complex, multi-country and mixed-methods evaluations, which will focus on GEDSI as it relates to one of our SDDirect portfolios. You may also be involved in designing and delivering research across our other portfolios. In addition to delivery, you will also be involved in winning new work, leading evaluation, research or MEL bid development and raising SDDirect’s external profile and reputation.

Technical Design, Delivery & Leadership

· Design and deliver a range of mixed-methods evaluations, often in shifting and unpredictable contexts, including impact, formative, summative or process evaluations with a GEDSI focus. This will include the design of the approach, data collection tools and methodologies (surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, workshops, etc.) and analysis of the data collected.

· Support the development of SDDirect’s body of knowledge and practice on feminist evaluation, staying up to date with current thinking on models, methods, good practice and relevant debates.

· Provide leadership to SDDirect contracts as relevant, including project management responsibilities, client liaison, and support to and technical leadership of consultancy teams.

· To use negotiation and diplomacy skills and to confidently manage challenging conversations.

· To ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, to high-quality standards, and in keeping with SDDirect’s ethics and ethos.

· To provide support to SDDirect’s other portfolios (Equal Education, Safeguarding, Green Economies and Infrastructure, Governance and Inclusive Societies, Gender-Based Violence), as appropriate on MEL or in research design and delivery.

Raising SDDirect’s Profile

· To establish and maintain close relationships and effective networks with our clients, partners and consultants, drawing on their own professional networks. 

· To represent SDDirect at meetings, conferences and on social media and ensure that SDDirect’s work on GEDSI and evaluation is disseminated and profiled externally in a clear and accessible way, especially with key fora in the MEL sector.

· To provide internal thought leadership and professional development activities on MEL, raising the capacity of other staff on MEL.

Business Development

To contribute to the growth of SDDirect’s portfolio of work in this technical area, through:

· Identifying areas of growth and new business opportunities through close and direct contact with clients, potential clients, partners, potential partners, in-house staff and external consultants.

· Supporting the Business Development Team in identifying relevant opportunities to expand the portfolio and pipeline.

The Naval Children’s Charity provides financial and holistic support to children and families around the UK.  We work closely with other charities, have our own team of caseworkers and use an external Armed Forces group case management system CRM, as well as a bespoke internal CRM of our beneficiaries.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Caseworkers provide support and advice to eligible individuals in line with the policies of the Naval Children’s Charity.  They work closely with other organisations to ensure that children and families receive appropriate and prompt support.

· To act as the first point of contact for the Casework team and beneficiaries

· To complete an initial assessment of need by triaging telephone calls, emails and applications received through different CRMs used by the Charity

· Contact families who submit an enquiry through the Charity website or via email

· Pass emergency requests for support to the Casework Team Manager or Head of Welfare for prioritising

· Deal with enquiries and correspondence from beneficiaries

Experience

Job Description

The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Essex and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information. 

The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support.  You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.

The main responsibilities of the post are:

• To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.

• To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone. 

• To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.

• To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.

• To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.

• To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.

• To assist survivors and relatives/supporters of survivors in understanding the range of resources and services available to them.

• To support service users to engage effectively with appropriate services to meet their individual needs and aspirations.

• To work as a link between clients, CARA staff and external agencies, ensuring appropriate information is passed on. 

• To work closely with the Essex-wide team of First Contact Navigators and Information and Referral Coordinators to ensure effective referral processes across Essex.

• To cover the enquiry line and the office phone and deal with enquiries as required. 

• To pro-actively promote CARA’s services to external agencies, ensuring they are aware of our referral procedures.

The time required for this role adds up to about 12 hours per month / 140 hours per year. This is made up of 15 speaking engagements, including the time for travel, arriving early and staying for tea and biscuits (5h per speaking engagement), preparation time (0.5h per engagement), keeping up to date with BMS’ development with our regular publications (about 15h per year), organising speaking engagements, including all communications with the church from the offer of a visit to follow up communications after a visit, recording all communications and raising any changes to role holders (2h per engagement), attending training (online and in person), team and coaching meetings (about 15h per year). 

Please note that BMS deems this role to be inside IR35 and, due to the nature of the role, will contract successful candidates via an Umbrella Agency for pay and tax purposes. You would log your hours on an hours sheet which you would submit quarterly.

Job Profile

The role of the Major Gifts and Philanthropy (MGP) Team Research and Information Manager is a unique role within the sector and CAFOD. Working across MGP (which is made up of Major Donors and Corporate teams) as well as others, such as the Trusts and Foundations Team, it has been developed to meet the growing needs of planning and reporting across MGP and to ensure income growth is focused on raising the funds needed to achieve short and long term organisation priorities.

A pivotal role, the post-holder will hold lead expertise in philanthropy communications at CAFOD, working with other stakeholders to identify funding priorities so MGP can achieve an income forecast of nearly £3.17m in 2024/25.

Managing the Research and Information Executive, the post-holder will make sure that concept notes, proposals and reports are written for the most strategic work, and that MGP relationship managers are informed of projects in need of funding. With oversight of all team donor proposals, reporting and communications, you will ensure they align with CAFOD’s values, especially promoting anti-racist messages in line with our commitment to becoming an anti-racist organisation. 

The post-holder will share key donor trends and work closely with the Philanthropy Manager and Corporate Partnerships Manager to understand their research needs and develop a research strategy. Alongside the Research and Information Executive, you will complete research into top-level prospects and donors. 

This post sits in the MGP team, which is part of the Fundraising and Participation Group. As MGP’s information and prospect research expert, you will work with the Executive team, International Programmes, Integrated Fundraising and Business Innovation team, Data and Insight, Communications and Finance teams as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic leadership of MGP’s funding portfolio & engagement 

• Lead on the implementation of MGP’s funding strategy, maintaining a funding proposal pipeline and tracking where funds have been secured for projects, so it sits as a centre of excellence across CAFOD

• Oversee donor communications for the team, including appeals and cases for support for CAFOD’s most strategic work: unrestricted, and our humanitarian funding initiative, Every Second Counts; ensuring communications comply with anti-racist communication and fundraising principles 

• Build strong relationships with International Programmes staff and facilitate meetings for them to share strategic work with MGP team 

• Identify and influence change, especially relating to donor systems and processes

Lead prospect and donor research

You will be central to our ambition to create the largest repository of robust evidence and evaluations of what works to support young people into good jobs. In the directorate, you will support the Heads of Evaluation, the Deputy Director and Director to ensure all Youth Futures’ investments are designed to provide robust evidence of what works. Primarily, you will support the Heads of Evaluation and the Deputy Director in the design of new impact evaluations and lead on their commissioning and management.

Our priority for this post holder is to work on our What Works Programme 2, which designs and funds impact evaluations, including (Randomised Controlled Trials and Quasi-Experimental designs) of youth employment interventions.

About the role:

This is a newly created part time role following a period of growth. The Fleet Administrator will be responsible for the efficient administration of the fleet to ensure that Rainbow Trust vehicles are managed effectively, accurate records are maintained, and costs are minimised, working closely with suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the fleet with minimal disruption.

The Fleet Administrator will form a vital part of the Finance and Operations Team supporting the Facilities & IT Manager in the management of the Rainbow Trust fleet. Rainbow Trust operates a fleet of approximately seventy vehicles situated across our nine regional teams. It is vitally important that our Family Support Workers have a reliable vehicle for attending family visits and transporting families to hospital. In addition, the Fleet Administrator will be required to assist the Facilities and IT manager with ad-hoc tasks/projects according to the workload.

Full training will be provided and previous experience of managing a fleet is not required, although is desirable. A good level of maths, excellent communication, planning and Microsoft Excel skills are required to be successful in this role.

This is an excellent opportunity to maintain a breadth of fleet administrator experience with increased responsibility.

We have seen significant growth over the past few years and have built a network of engaged supporters.  As we launch our new strategy, we are looking for a talented individual to lead our Philanthropy Team and grow both our major donor and Trusts & Foundations programme so that we can support more children to develop the reading skills and confidence they need for a fair chance in life. ​
 

Job Description​

Delivering the Philanthropy plan​

• Manage the philanthropy programme at Bookmark, working with the Head of Fundraising to grow the major donor and Trusts & Foundations portfolio within the wider strategy​
• Lead a team of three to deliver on the fundraising strategy, providing direction, support and guidance. Directly line manage the Philanthropy Manager and support their professional development ​
• Work with trustees, staff, and our wonderfully supportive Partnerships Board to build a robust pipeline of supporters and secure introductions ​
• Own and build a portfolio of donors through the full donor cycle who give £50,000 or more, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey​
• Lead on the philanthropy events strategy and programme, providing support to the Philanthropy Manager and wider team in delivering income generating, cultivation and stewardship events ​
• Lead the philanthropy team to compelling, relevant and tailored funding proposals, reports and collateral to inspire and inform donors, reflecting Bookmark’s strong brand​
• Work closely with the Corporate Partnerships team to ensure opportunities to maximise income for the fundraising team​

Work with the rest of the Fundraising team​

• Devise and deliver annual plans, together with associated budgets, in line with the charity’s strategic objectives.​
• Work with the Senior Leadership Team, Chair of Trustees and colleagues across the charity to ensure major donor fundraising activity is aligned with the charity’s wider plans and objectives​
• Use Salesforce to manage the accurate recording and forecasting of major donor income, enabling efficient reporting and KPI management ​
• Ensure that all activity helps to build Bookmark’s brand and is always brand compliant​​
• Ensure Bookmark’s ethical fundraising policy is adhered to​

Person specification

Essential​

• A successful track record in high value fundraising and acquisition, including a proven track record of securing five-and-six-figure gifts, to meet or exceed targets​
• Experience line managing individuals, nurturing their development and managing their performance to achieve results​
• Excellent understanding of complex relationship-based fundraising from high-net worth individuals and/or grant making organisations, and experience developing relationships with donors through all stages of the donor cycle​
• Experience working with a fundraising board or high value committee​
• Experience developing and managing a calendar of successful charity events that meet fundraising targets​
• Great verbal communication skills, a passion for presenting and public speaking​
• You will have the skills to influence, motivate and persuade people to donate​
• Demonstrable experience of writing successful, inspiring, emotive, and technically accurate cases for support and proposals tailored to a major donor audience​
• Experience growing and managing a pipeline, planning for your portfolio and increasing income​
• An understanding and ability to build budgets and work with financials​
• Experience using of Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint​
• You have experience using Salesforce, or another fundraising database​

Desirable​

• Experience managing and growing a Giving Circle​

Location:​ One to  two days per week based at the Bookmark office (London), with flexibility around home working for the remaining days
Contract type:​ Permanent, 3-5 days per week
Salary:​ £48,000-£50,000 pro-rata
Hours:​ 22.5-37.5 hours per week. Flexibility around compressed hours.
