We are seeking to appoint an Executive Director to lead Friends of the Earth (England, Wales & Northern Ireland) at a crucial domestic and international moment for climate, environmental and social justice.
You will motivate, inspire and build the capacity of a growing and diverse network of people coming together to transform our environment into one which is flourishing, sustainable, and socially just.
You will do this as a passionate and effective advocate for an environment that’s getting better, a safer climate, abundant nature, healthy air, water and food. We work from the grassroots to the global in communities throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland to playing our part in the international network of our sister organisations around the world.
We are looking for someone with established credibility and standing within the environmental and/or social justice sectors, someone able to inspire our activists, staff and allies, and to attract funding and resources to enable our vital work; someone with outstanding strategic vision and organisational leadership as well as a collaborative approach to build and deliver transformative work internally and externally.
With exceptional communication and relationship skills and an empathetic approach, you will inspire and lead our engagement across the political landscape and engage with a widening range of communities. Fostering equity, diversity and inclusion, including our commitment to becoming an anti-racist organization, you will be key to our work in pursuit of a just and sustainable world for all.

What skills will I need?
Experienced engineering leader who has recruited, developed, and engaged software engineering teams in large, complex organisations.
Excellent knowledge of the fast-moving technology landscape with a particular focus on cloud engineering and knowledge of:

Architectural approaches and their future direction (e.g. modern front-end development/single-page applications, serverless services, infrastructure-as-code).
Full-stack JavaScript (React/Node JS) utilising AWS serverless services (e.g. Amplify, Lambda, Aurora).

About the Role:
As the Trusts & Foundations Manager you will be responsible for generating income from grant making trusts and foundations.
You will take the lead on seeking out new prospects and nurturing existing relationships to significantly grow income. You will achieve this by researching sources of funding, devising individually tailored applications, maintaining excellent communications with existing and potential donor trusts and foundations, delivering an agreed income target as well as growing funding from these sources.
We are happy to consider people who want to work full-time (35 hours), or four days per week (28 hours).
Here's a summary of your key responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and research new and pipeline trust, lottery and statutory fundraising opportunities and progress them to application stage.
- Developing the trust and foundation pipeline to generate new income and multiyear grants
- To lead the development of new fundraising proposals for priority fundraising projects, including potential research partnership opportunities where MQ collaborates on a joint bid with another institution
- To carry out targeted and systematic research to establish new high value prospects utilising existing networks, the MQ database, search engines and referrals
- Build long-term relationships with new and prospect trust, lottery and statutory donors, including through meetings, attendance at conferences and events, regular update calls/comms and – when possible – direct face-to-face engagement.
- Report on performance against agreed budgets and targets
- Capitalise on the expertise and networks of MQ’s senior volunteers, including working closely with MQ Trustees and other Development Team colleagues to maximise existing opportunities for introductions, including the Lord Mayor’s Appeal
About You:
This role is for you if you are an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser, with good knowledge of the sector. You'll have demonstrable experience of securing five and six figure grants to achieve annual income targets, both through stewarding existing supporters and through researching and cultivating a pipeline of new opportunities.
You will also be skilled in understanding and translating complex information and turning it in to compelling written proposals, for grants, corporate partnerships and major donors.
We do require someone who is proactive, hardworking and results-orientated.
Essential role requirements include:
- Experience of trusts and foundation fundraising and able to demonstrate continual growth in expertise and results in this area.
- Good understanding of the trusts and foundations fundraising environment and associated processes and different types of grant making bodies.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write concise and inspiring funding applications and to make presentations.
- Creative thinker, with ability to identify funding opportunities and match them with the right trusts.
- Good interpersonal, influencing and relationship-management skills, at all levels.
- Ability to work as part of a team and spot opportunities to grow and develop relationships for the good of the organisation.
You will be driven to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest possible standards and be a sophisticated communicator with the confidence to build relationships with and inspire colleagues and donors.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge/NXT is desirable but not essential.

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to give struggling children hope and a future. Building on the huge success of TLG Early Intervention Coaching, TLG Therapeutic Support will be a new way for TLG, with partner churches, to provide support in school for the increasing number of pupils struggling to cope due to their emotional, relational, and mental health experiences.
In this role we are looking for an individual that thrives working with children and young people in a school context and is passionate about supporting pupils and their families struggling with emotional, relational, and mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will be a qualified counsellor with an aptitude for creativity whether this is music and drama, sport and outdoor recreation or other fields of kinaesthetic development. The TLG Therapeutic Counsellor will be present each week in the school, providing specialist trauma aware care for these children, whilst supporting staff and parents too, so we're looking for an individual who can build and foster strong relationships.

About the role
We’re looking for a Digital Experience Manager with a background in managing and developing websites and digital products, as well as previous experience of line management, to join our friendly and expert Digital Team.
As the Digital Experience Manager, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a high-quality, accessible and customer-focused online brand presence by optimising content, journeys and audience experience on our website and other digital platforms. By collaborating with specialists internally and externally across UX, UI, development, SEO, content strategy and content management, you will ensure that the overall digital experience meets brand goals and audience needs by being holistic and engaging and inspiring action.
You will line manage the Developer and Digital Product Officer, providing engaging and motivating leadership, management and personal development support.
You will champion the voices of children and young people with cancer, and their families in everything you do.

What will I be doing?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.
- Lead on the digital experience strategy for the organisation. Using insight to design, implement, test, measure and optimise as needed.
- Product Ownership of the website experience and content strategy for the site, liaising with internal stakeholders as needed.
- Provide expertise around digital journeys, to continually optimise and improve these, across service delivery and fundraising activities.
- Own the overall roadmap for development on the website and work across teams to support the integration and adoption of third-party digital platforms. Prioritise functionality improvement across the team.
- Establish reporting dashboards and models to use website performance, user insight and other digital and campaign metrics to optimise and develop content and journeys, and to monitor the success of new improvements. P
- Develop our approach to user and audience insight and testing to inform improvements and decision making, use data and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead on SEO, ensure our website content follows SEO best practice, and work on strategies to improve our position in search engine results pages.

- Collaborate with teams across the charity on digital experience initiatives that align with overall business goals: manage the optimisation of our digital platforms and design customer-centric strategies that improve user experience, increase satisfaction and loyalty.

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working to support struggling children, young people and their families. Building on the huge success of our existing Early Intervention Coaching, TLG Therapeutic Support will be a new way for TLG, with partner churches, to provide support in school for the increasing number of pupils struggling to cope due to their emotional, relational, and mental health experiences.
