In the role of Individual Giving Assistant – Supporter Retention & Development at The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, you will play a key role in supporting the Individual Giving team. Your work will focus on retaining and developing relationships with supporters, ensuring they have the best possible experience with the charity. A big focus of the role is prioritisation and planning, so you’ll support the Director of Programmes, Head of Impact & Effectiveness and wider team to prioritise, forward plan, manage diaries and prepare for meetings. You will have responsibility for supporting a Trustee level grant making committee. The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.
The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie. This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.
The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie. With all local relationships managed by this role’s teams, the post will ensure that supporters have a connected, seamless experience.
The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. Purpose of the job
This role is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to join the UK Youth Fundraising team. Key responsibilities
- Lead and secure income from new corporate organisations and achieve new business targets

- Pro-actively engage new businesses using a range of methods: e.g. working with senior stakeholders, events, networking, cold calls, emails, LinkedIn
- Develop and strengthen warm relationships with prospective funders and find opportunities to engage them in the work of UK Youth
- Develop corporate bids, budgets and proposals, managing the process across different teams, cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Create and present high quality, persuasive funding bids to C-suite audiences and senior stakeholders
- Present and attend meetings alongside senior leaders and stakeholders at UK Youth
- Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to identifying new streams of income from different corporate audiences
- Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to develop the corporate partnerships offer beyond income generation, identifying opportunities for corporate partners to offer their skills and expertise to further UK Youth’s charitable objectives
- Ensure all donations are accurately recorded and recognised, working closely with the finance team
- Ensure that the CRM is up to date and accurate at all times
- Keep up to date with trends, research and data on fundraising and corporate partnerships, helping to inform long-term strategy
Experience we're after
- Demonstratable experience in a sales or corporate fundraising role, working on six – seven figure proposals
- Proven track record of corporate partnerships fundraising/ securing sales targets from new organisations
- Experience of working in a busy and deadline-driven environment and achieving ambitious targets
- Experience negotiating, pitching and presenting to senior (C-suite) internal and external stakeholders

We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Events Co-ordinator to assist in the smooth running and successful management of our well established and growing events portfolio. Working with our dynamic events team you will be instrumental in ensuring that all World Jewish Relief events are of the highest standard and delivered with immaculate care and precision. This role is critical in ensuring that World Jewish Relief continues to grow and engage a wide-ranging audience, raising funds in support of our inspirational projects and programmes worldwide.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the events team in the planning, coordinating, administration and delivery of World Jewish Relief events including our flagship Annual Dinner.
- Managing and leading on the planning of smaller engagement and fundraising events both in person and online.
- Supporting and overseeing World Jewish Relief’s Young Committee by assisting with the delivery of their events and attending committee meetings
- Liaising with colleagues and partners to organise supporter Insight Trips: creating itineraries, booking transport and managing all details.
- Supporting and assisting donors who are planning events to raise funds for World Jewish Relief.
- Working with the communications team to organise World Jewish Relief’s participation at communal events and attend these events.
- Managing and leading on stewardship of World Jewish Relief runners in the London Marathon and other challenge event activities.
- Working with the fundraising and marketing team to launch and deliver a new fundraising initiative supporting World Jewish Relief's Home Repairs programmes in Ukraine.
You should have:
- Proven experience in event planning, coordination and delivery to a high standard, preferably within the non-profit sector.
- Demonstrable knowledge of event fundraising techniques and sector trends.
- Experience using a database (ideally Raiser’s Edge) to the highest level, both to record and analyse information.
- Experience in successfully managing numerous priorities at one time, meeting tight and non-negotiable deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Excellent administrative skills, impeccable accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to use your own initiative, make quick and independent decisions where necessary and to work under pressure.

This is an important role within our legacy and journeys team, part of an established and successful individual giving operation.
