This is a new role, working in a dynamic charity built on the aim of improving life for local people. We are a small, passionate team driving programmes to meet our community’s needs in North Kensington.

You will be responsible for overseeing Dalgarno Trust’s Programmes, and line managing our Community Champions Manager, Health Works Manager, Foodbank, Volunteer and Room Bookings Manager and Youth Programme Manager. 

Purpose of the job:

• To maintain effective oversight of the delivery of a range of projects and programmes being managed by designated managers.
• To ensure performance management expectations are being met by each project and programme and reported to appropriate funders, including internal and external stakeholders.
• To provide leadership and direction to project and programme managers and work with other senior members of staff to achieve organisational goals.

Duties and responsibilities:

Service delivery management

• To keep abreast of key performance indicators expected to be measured and evidenced for each of the projects and programmes and keep under constant review the need for adjustments in processes to be able to achieve expected performance.
• To use Salesforce for monitoring and evaluating project outputs, outcomes, and impact for reporting to funders, including internal and external stakeholders.
• To support managers in understanding what information is required in terms of monitoring information expected by funders and the Board of Trustees.
• To develop and maintain a performance dashboard on all projects and programmes.
• To communicate performance information of projects and programmes (e.g. dashboard) regularly across the organisation and to internal and external stakeholders as directed by the CEO.

Human resources management

• To provide effective line management to designated staff, ensuring all necessary information about their time management, supervision records, leave arrangements, and other HR records (e.g. sickness) are up to date and available for management decisions and service delivery needs.
• To ensure performance targets, monthly one-to-one meetings, reviews, professional development plans are in place and in practice for each direct report.
• To work with other senior managers on creating management reports on workforce performance and development.
• To work with other senior managers and CEO to ensure organisational performance and service delivery information is helping achieve business development and growth.
• To provide leadership through coaching or other means to direct reports where this helps, is needed or achieves benefits for the individual and organisation.
• To promote and implement a culture that encourages proactivity among staff (e.g. learning from any potential failure and celebrating success).

Compliance and assurance

• To take responsibility for the Quality Assurance Mark ISO 9001 and aligning the actions from the Management System with wider organisational activity.
• To take part in the annual audit of actions for ISO 9001 and ensure any new actions are logged and communicated across the organisation as appropriate.
• To ensure all strands of responsibility under each programme is compliant and meeting legal and policy expectations (e.g. health and safety, safeguarding, data protection etc.).
• To ensure that controls on procuring goods and services for the organisation are always in place securing value for money. Strategic leadership and support
• To identify local and strategic issues pertinent to local communities and voluntary organisations.
• To influence/negotiate policies and ideas, projects and programmes of benefit to local communities.
• To effectively represent and where relevant and directed, form partnerships with organisations and / or external bodies, to develop growth opportunities.
• To contribute to maximising the income of the organisation by working with Head of Development and identifying opportunities and implementing necessary actions.

The Role Within Unseen

Unseen provides support to people who have experienced Modern Slavery and Human trafficking and actively champions capturing voices in our work and providing development opportunities for those we are working with. Unseen also engages with a range of external partners to promote and facilitate person-centered and survivor informed responses to exploitation.

We develop evidence-based research and policy recommendations that are built from our support and collaboration work with survivors, key statutory service partners and NGOs. The Policy & Partnerships Officer will support the Policy & Research work of the organisation and support in the coordination of the Southwest Anti-Slavery Partnership to ensure delivery of real and tangible benefits for everyone involved, especially potential victims and survivors.

Purpose of the role

The Policy & Partnerships Officer will support in the delivery of Policy & Research projects and the collation of lived experience voices into our research work. You will work closely with the Policy & Partnerships Manager, the Survivor Involvement Coordinator, Senior Caseworkers and Unseen’s Survivor Consultant Volunteers and be responsible for the survivor consultant focus groups.

You will also support the Policy & Partnerships Manager in the coordination of the Southwest Anti-Slavery Partnership. Unseen facilitates the Avon & Somerset Anti-Slavery Partnership board, the Regional Anti-Slavery Partnership board and Bristol Modern Slavery Operational Partnership. We also support the chairs of other force area partnerships in the region and act as a point of contact in the Southwest, providing advice and guidance to partners and promoting proactive activity to eliminate Modern Slavery.

You will work closely with Unseen’s Policy & Research Team and have regular interactions with staff across Unseen’s wider teams including Support Services, Fundraising, Media & Communications and Operations.

As the Head of Communications, you will play a key role in amplifying UK-Med’s voice, supporting our fundraising efforts through strategic communications, and ensuring our message reaches the world’s most vulnerable people.

UK-Med has an ambitious five-year strategy (you can view it here) with a goal to generate £1 million per year from voluntary sources by 2026 to fund emergency responses and training for health staff. Our charity’s income is currently primarily statutory, and while we are relatively new to fundraising, our voluntary income has quadrupled year on year for the last three years. Earlier this year, the Board invested in the team to support the delivery of the 2021-2026 Fundraising and Communications strategy.

As Head of Communications, you will build on the promising foundations laid to deliver an exciting chapter in the charity’s development. Purpose of the job 

This role is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to join the UK Youth Fundraising team. This role focuses on identifying and securing new income generation opportunities with Corporate Partners across strategic, commercial and charity of the year style collaborations. 

Key responsibilities

• Lead and secure income from new corporate organisations and achieve new business targets
• Identify new corporate opportunities to add to the new business corporate pipeline
• Pro-actively engage new businesses using a range of methods: e.g. working with senior stakeholders, events, networking, cold calls, emails, LinkedIn
• Develop and strengthen warm relationships with prospective funders and find opportunities to engage them in the work of UK Youth
• Develop corporate bids, budgets and proposals, managing the process across different teams, cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Create and present high quality, persuasive funding bids to C-suite audiences and senior stakeholders
• Present and attend meetings alongside senior leaders and stakeholders at UK Youth
• Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to identifying new streams of income from different corporate audiences
• Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to develop the corporate partnerships offer beyond income generation, identifying opportunities for corporate partners to offer their skills and expertise to further UK Youth’s charitable objectives
• Ensure all donations are accurately recorded and recognised, working closely with the finance team
• Ensure that the CRM is up to date and accurate at all times
• Keep up to date with trends, research and data on fundraising and corporate partnerships, helping to inform long-term strategy

Experience we're after

• Demonstratable experience in a sales or corporate fundraising role, working on six – seven figure proposals
• Proven track record of corporate partnerships fundraising/ securing sales targets from new organisations
• Experience of working in a busy and deadline-driven environment and achieving ambitious targets
• Experience negotiating, pitching and presenting to senior (C-suite) internal and external stakeholders

• Supporting the events team in the planning, coordinating, administration and delivery of World Jewish Relief events including our flagship Annual Dinner.
• Managing and leading on the planning of smaller engagement and fundraising events both in person and online.

This role comes at an exciting time with the opportunity to lead the growth of MQ’s Development Team as we expand our capacity across all these areas of income generation. MQ currently has at least one role under each area and there is desire, supported by the board of trustees, for further recruitment to strengthen each as needed.

We are happy to consider people who want to work full-time (35 hours), or four days per week (28 hours).

Here's a summary of your key responsibilities:

• Provide inspirational leadership to the MQ Development Team, managing the current team of five to deliver our £3m 2025 budget
• Develop, oversee and actively lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy which exploits a wide range of fundraising opportunities, maintains diverse and sustainable income streams, and builds the organisation’s unrestricted income capacity to meet its aims and objectives.
• Lead by example, personally building and managing a pool of 6 figure prospects to deliver against targets within your area of speciality (major donor, trusts and/or corporates), with a focus on new business across the team
• Potential to help MQ expand its high value fundraising on an international scale
• Collaborate across MQ’s teams, including Research, Marketing and Finance, to develop MQ’s list of fundraising products and proposals
• Refine and deliver MQ’s high value tracking and reporting on financial and activity KPIs, working closely with the Senior Data and Compliance Manager and using our CRM, Raiser’s Edge NXT
• Build and monitor annual Development Team income and expenditure budgets and work with MQ’s Executive to provide regular updates against progress and reforecasting as needed
• Drive innovation in fundraising activity in order that MQ can stand out – improving current approaches but also developing new behaviours, projects and activities to win new funding through excellent stewardship and cultivation
• Capitalise on the expertise and networks of MQ’s senior volunteers, including working closely with MQ trustees and other Development Team colleagues to maximise existing opportunities for introductions, including the Lord Mayor’s Appeal
• Develop MQ’s ability to carry out targeted and systematic research to establish new high value prospects utilising existing networks, the MQ database, search engines and referrals

About you:

This role is for you, if you have fundraising experience with grants and foundations as well as corporate fundraising and/or new business acquisition experience. This means you will have experience in stewarding and securing new gifts from foundations as well as researching new opportunities to apply for funds.

You will also be skilled in understanding and translating complex information and turning it in to compelling written proposals, for grants, corporate partnerships and major donors.

You will be driven to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest possible standards and be a sophisticated communicator with the confidence to build relationships with and inspire colleagues and donors.

We do require someone who is proactive, hardworking and results-focused.

Experience of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge/NXT is desirable but not essential.

Refugee Council – Stewardship and Events Manager

Refugee Council is seeking a Stewardship and Event Manager to lead on excellent stewardship and events at the charity.

Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK.  Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment.  Evidence from services is then used to also inform the charity’s leading policy and influencing work, including campaigning for a fairer and kinder refugee protection system.  The charity works with more than 14,000 men, women and children every year.

As a result of growing need and increasing interest in Refugee Council’s work, the charity has ambitious plans to make a leap in impact, with investment in their Philanthropy Team to raise increased funds from key high value audiences.

This role will be a critical part of the Philanthropy & Partnerships management team and represents a brilliant opportunity to support the growth and development of our major donor, trust and statutory and corporate partnerships portfolios.

Working with key stakeholders from across the organisation, the postholder will play a lead role in the development and delivery of an ambitious stewardship and events programme, offering a range of activities to engage and inspire supporters, and ensure that they are connected to, and inspired by, the work of Refugee Council.

The successful candidate will have experience in developing a special events programme to support cultivation and income generation, as well as of developing engaging and relevant donor and prospect communications. They will also have experience of leading on the conceptualisation, planning and delivery of a range of event types, from small, intimate dinners to large receptions and be adept at creating and managing a monitoring and evaluation framework to track activity and apply lessons learned to future activities.  They will also be comfortable working with senior leaders within Refugee Council, as well as corporate leaders, parliamentarians and other influential people, alongside having a sound understanding of the principles and impact of exemplary stewardship and cultivation of supporters and prospects.

Refugee Council will provide the most moving and diverse case for support. Cases that encompass innovative external affairs campaigns aimed at engaging policy makers and the public.

Role Purpose

The Head of Research and Delivery will lead the delivery of programmes, client-facing projects and research initiatives for GDI Hub CIC, working across the key themes of Disability Inclusion, Inclusive Design and Cities, Climate Change, Gender, Financial Inclusion and Assistive Technology. It is expected that the role holder will have considerable experience across at least two of these themes and an appetite for both broadening and deepening their knowledge across the others. They will also collaborate with research leads and teams based across GDI Hub including the Academic Research Centre (ARC) at UCL.

This is a senior, strategic, role responsible for team management and leading key projects, leading client, donor and government relationships, and providing strategic subject matter expertise. It would suit someone with a proven-track record in the sector and requires a strong aptitude for strategic thinking, delivery management and the creation of tenable and evidence-based recommendations. They will be creative and collaborative with a drive to make the world a fairer place, inspiring others to do the same.

They will be responsible for delivery on projects and research under their remit and contribute to the development of new projects and research, working closely with partners and clients. Current funders, partners and clients include the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Asian Development Bank, Climate Investment Funds, UNICEF, Carbon Trust and Expo City Dubai. This will involve leading a permanent team of six, which is expected to grow to eight by Q4 2024-25, and any external consultants brought online as required to deliver across a portfolio of work.

Role Responsibilities

Project and Research Delivery and Management

• Lead a growing portfolio of projects under the Research and Delivery team including a current portfolio of circa 10 active projects.
• Leadership of Global Thematic Goods sub-programme under the AT2030 programme, with direct project leadership of 2 workstreams (inclusive infrastructure and inclusive climate resilience).
• Lead the intellectual and strategic management of project delivery, ensuring that projects deliver clear messages aligned to programme targets, client needs and project scope and deliver impact.
• Take overall responsibility for the quality and timeliness of project delivery and deliverables, ensuring project management processes and procedures are being implemented correctly and outputs are to the highest standard in line with GDI Hub style.
• Provide overall research leadership in GDI HUB CIC, instilling academic rigour and driving innovative and inclusive research, managing researchers to deliver high quality outputs that are evidence-based, meeting internal/external expectations and tailored to target audiences.
• Plan and manage workplans, including emergent risks, challenges, change requests, budgets, travel, schedules, and scope.

Client Management and Reporting

• Manage and develop relationships with partners and stakeholders, to support effective collaboration.
• Provide leadership in client facing discussions, understanding needs and priorities, and linking these to project and team delivery plans.
• Engage with emerging opportunities as appropriate, leading proposal development with the wider team.
• Service project reporting requirements and instruct timely invoicing against project agreements.

Support Communications and External Engagement

• Strategic leadership of external engagement across their portfolio, attending and speaking at events, conferences and project workshops as needed, to drive impact of our work.
• Provide input to communications content and the events pipeline to further raise the profile, reach and impact of GDI Hub’s work.
• Write insight reports, blogs or other content to support communications and external engagement as required.
• Highlight communication, networking and new work opportunities arising from project and client engagements.

Internal Team Management

• Manage and support the research and delivery team ensuring team members are informed, connected and working as a team, ensuring shared understanding of projects and individual delivery responsibilities.
• Work closely with the COO and Programme Management team to ensure sustainable delivery and resource management processes are followed.
• Ensure team resources are used in accordance with project budgets and actively tracked throughout delivery. Review resource capacity and factor into any new project bids or repeat business opportunities.
• Direct line management of Senior Inclusive Design Manager, Senior Financial Inclusion Researcher, Senior Social Researcher and Inclusive Climate Researcher. Support the team in their own line management responsibilities in line with planned activity.

The TSA is seeking a highly experienced, confident and capable Head of Fundraising to provide leadership and direction on all aspects of income generation. The charity has gone from strength to strength over the last 24 months, including income generation, and we are looking for an experienced fundraising professional to continue this amazing work.  

Working closely with the TSA’s Joint Chief Executives, you’ll join the Senior Management Team and will be expected to successfully implement our new three-year fundraising strategy, which aims to diversify and raise income in a sensible yet ambitious way. 

You’ll have a genuine passion about making a difference and working with a range of different people to increase income across multiple streams. The chosen candidate will have experience of developing multiple income streams, building and maintaining meaningful relationships with existing and new supporters and demonstrable exceptional communication skills.

Head of Fundraising responsibilities 

Strategic, leadership and management 

• Provide leadership for fundraising and income generation across the TSA team. Attend regular strategy meetings and be a leading voice in shaping the TSA’s income generation activities 

• Lead in the development, implementation and review of fundraising polices and strategy ensuring they are in line with the overall organisation business plan 

• Provide line management for the Fundraising Manager and Grants and Trusts Manager, including regular meetings and ensuring that the fundraising team are fulfilling all areas of their roles, meeting agreed KPI’s and achieving set income targets 

• Lead on the annual business planning and budget cycle for the income generation 

• Effectively collect and analyse data to demonstrate income trends, the impact of fundraising and income generation. Use this data to inform quarterly reports to the Board of Trustees, determine the impact of the team’s work and drive continual improvements in policy and practice 

• Attend and actively contribute to weekly TSA team meetings 

Income Generation and partnership 

• Lead on all income generation activities, with a focus on developing new fundraising initiatives for corporate giving, major donor fundraising, legacy giving and TSA appeals 

• Develop and deliver short and long-term fundraising and partnership strategy for the TSA. Ensure that the TSA has a balanced portfolio, and the fundraising team successfully delivers income across multiple streams

• Working closely with the Joint Chief Executives and Grants and Trusts Manager, expand the TSA’s range of research funding sources to include public, academic, commercial and innovation funding alongside investment from the TSA itself 

• Accurately forecast and monitor against income generation targets 

• Identify opportunities to work with partners on areas of common interest where the TSA can achieve more through joint funding, gifts in kind (such as time or services) or delivering joint projects than the charity could do by working alone 

• Ensure the TSA’s fundraising policies, procedures are up to date and that all fundraising activities comply with law and the Fundraising Regulator guidelines 

• Continue to maintain established, and develop new relationships with potential fundraising supporters and partners across all sectors 

Marketing and communications responsibilities 

• Work closely with the communications team to develop inspiring fundraising campaigns, appeals, cases for support and content for distribution across all digital platforms,including social media, e-newsletters and Scan magazine, website and fundraising platforms 

• Continue to strengthen our supporter engagement plans to identify and build excellent working relationships that leads to increase income
