About the role
A full time position has become available for an 18 month fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave position. This is an exciting opportunity to join the SPACE (Specialist Paediatric PAlliative CarE) service with a practice development opportunity. The post holder will join the team as a Band 6 and with support will gain clinical competence and leadership skills around complex symptom assessment, management and End of Life..
The post holder will provide holistic care and support to Children and Young People (CYP) with life limiting conditions and their families as a key member of the SPACE service. This care is provided in the community, hospitals and at the hospice, the post holder will be required to work in all settings but will primarily be based at the hospice.

Start Network is a global membership of close to 100 civil society organisations, working across six continents, to tackle what we see as the biggest systemic problems in the global humanitarian system. Start Network is an independent charity that works with Save the Children, as a grant custodian for some Start Network initiatives.

Start Network was formerly hosted within Save the Children UK (SCUK), where it was incubated since its establishment in 2010. A Grant Custodian Agreement is in-place, which describes the roles and commitments of each entity.
The Start Fund Programme Manager is a role within the Start Funds (as part of Start Programmes) contracted and line-managed within SCUK.
About the role
Start Network is a leading-edge funder, enabling network members to access rapid, early and risk-informed funding based on collective decision making and local leadership. As a funder, Start provides an alternative to other funding mechanisms in the humanitarian sector, with a unique niche focused on small-to-medium sized and underfunded crises and a progressive model that relies on collaboration with members deciding and actively managing the funds in concert.
The Start Fund Programme Manager will be responsible for the performance and strategic direction of the global Start Fund, as part of Start Network's family of funds. The global Start Fund provides around £20M of rapid financing in response to underfunded small to medium scale crises, spikes in chronic crises, and in anticipation of impending crises, filling a critical gap in humanitarian financing.
As the Programme Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of the global Start Fund programme, managing all contractual obligations and compliance. In addition, the role will continue working closely with the Head of Start Funds to ensure the fund contributes toward Start Network strategy.
You will provide support to Start Network's resource mobilisation work to ensure the fund is appropriately resourced as well as providing leadership to the Start Fund Programme Team ensuring successful implementation of the global Start Fund, and management of crisis alerts and associated awards.
In this role, you will:
People management
- Effectively manage a team of four Start Fund Programme Officers responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the Start Fund.
- Proactively develop relationships built on trust, provide staff with clear guidance and direction; use coaching techniques to support personal ambition and professional development. They will create an inclusive environment where team members feel safe to express ideas and acknowledge mistakes.
- Ensure that Start Funds team members have performance and professional development goals, that correspond with Start Funds team objectives, and are well managed and monitored.
Programme leadership
- Play a critical role in representing the global Start Fund as part of Start Network's family of funds, both internally and externally.
- With support from the Head of Start Funds, constantly review and propose adjustments to the Start Fund programme approach in response to learning, and to ensure continued alignment with Start Network strategy.
- Be responsible for the management of the Start Fund Committee as one of the fund's governing bodies.
- As part of the Start Funds team, regularly review and adapt the global Start Fund programme design and operations to ensure it remains fit for purpose.
- Contribute to resource mobilisation, to ensure the fund is appropriately resourced, donors and associated awards are appropriately managed, and fundraising initiatives informed and supported.
- Ensure strong relationships are maintained between Start Network and SCUK, supporting the transition toward Start Programmes (including Start Funds) full integration within Start Network.
- Led by the Head of Start Funds, play a critical role in the development of Start Funds plans including plans specific to the global Start Fund.
Fund management
- Responsible for the Start Fund's performance in line with agreed Start Fund Key Performance Indicators.
- Contribute toward reporting of the global Start Fund to the Start Fund governing bodies, SCUK, Start Network, and the global Start Fund donors as required.
- Responsible for supporting incident management, related to the global Start Fund.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Previous experience in humanitarian sector, with experience operating in humanitarian contexts.
- Good understanding and knowledge of humanitarian quality standards.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large and/or complex programmes in the humanitarian and/or development sector and proven experience in humanitarian project cycle management.
- Proven experience in award and financial management.
- Demonstrated skill in developing funding proposals, budgets and reports.
- Demonstrable experience of working in partnerships and/or networks.
- Proven experience of embracing innovative approaches, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of programme operations.
- Previous experience of managing people, including line-management experience.
- A confident communicator and networker with excellent relationship-building skills.

Trusts and Foundations Manager
This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations.
In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.
Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.
Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. Remain compliant with grant terms and conditions, ensuring you are clearly communicating the unique contours of the DEC model whilst providing comprehensive and inspiring impact reporting.
Relationship Management: Maintain regular contact and collaboration with internal teams to collate a high-quality suite of communication materials and stewardship plans specific to a trust and foundation audience. Proactively reach out and build long-lasting relationships with funders to reach ambitious fundraising targets.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor, measure and evaluate progress against the DEC’s strategic goals and funds raised from trusts and foundations. Prepare regular reports for senior management and trustees on the development, progress and future strategic actions for trusts and foundations at the DEC.
Essential qualities, experience, knowledge, skills, include:
- A track record of securing five- and six-figure donations from trusts and foundations.
- Experience of successfully executing cultivation plans and retaining positive, key relationships with trusts and foundations on behalf of a charity.
- Experience of producing professional and compelling funding propositions for a trust and foundation audience.
- Experience of delivering highly engaging and personalised stewardship journeys and meeting the reporting requirements of charitable trusts and foundations
- High level of technical ability with appropriate computer software packages and data analysis and visualisation software [i.e., Microsoft Office, Adobe, Box].
- Proven financial acumen to comfortably evaluate financial information and manage budgets.
- High attention to detail and numerate accuracy in analysing and using data and financial information, to write coherent reports.

Summary
ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the Regional Safeguarding Lead role is to support safeguarding practice in dioceses and cathedrals across the Church of England.
As a Regional Safeguarding Lead, you will support the development of best safeguarding practices in one of eight regional clusters of Diocesan Boards of Finance (DBFs) and cathedrals. Providing professional supervision and quality assurance to Safeguarding Officers, you will support the implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice. You will also support Church bodies to respond to the findings of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme.
You will facilitate the sharing of best practices and resources, group supervision, and the commissioning of joint initiatives between Church bodies. Working closely with senior managers, senior clergy and other stakeholders, you will ensure Church-wide consistency in approach.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing 1:1 professional supervision to Safeguarding Officers in dioceses and cathedrals, informed by the 4x4x4 integrated/restorative model of supervision (Morrisson & Wonnacott).
- Providing advice and guidance on individual cases and safeguarding-related situations.
- Using tools and frameworks to examine practices and processes ensuring the Church of England's National Safeguarding Standards are being consistently met or worked towards.
- Leading regional networks of safeguarding professionals from dioceses and cathedrals, and facilitating joint working, sharing of resources and other mutual support arrangements.
- Establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders within dioceses and cathedrals, in particular, their senior leadership teams.

Context

Role Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the world’s leading research and accountability initiatives for gender equality. You will join a small and growing team of staff working at GH5050, taking responsibility for the Global Health workstream. The role will involve project design and management, conducting research and policy analysis, maintaining strong working relationships with partner organisations as well as with other GH5050 staff, dissemination, engagement and impact. These responsibilities will be exercised at global and in partnership at country levels. Role Responsibilities

Oversee and take ownership for the processes from research and analysis to drafting and production of GH5050 outputs.

Team recruitment, leadership/management and research coordination: Hire, onboard and train teams of data collectors and provide regular support and quality control. Oversee and support the research team, develop detailed project plans, arrange regular project meetings, and ensure that project deliverables are met and produced in a rigorous and timely manner.

Consultant management and liaison: Identify and recruit consultants, and provide training and guidance as required, for specific tasks to produce GH5050 outputs. Supervise consultants’ work to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs. Liaise with consultants on various tasks during the report production process.

Conduct research, data validation and analysis: Undertake research and data collection for reports and other outputs, including literature research on organisational policies and practices, policy content analysis and workforce data extraction.

Supervise research. Be responsible for the supervision of research consultants and data collection team; . Implement processes for ensuring research quality and validity is maintained. Ensure the timely delivery of quality, validated outputs, including on statistical analysis, writing, data validation, data visualisation, graphic design and layout, and the production of dissemination and communications materials.

The Development Manager is a new and important role at The NewBridge Project, which will support the effective management of fundraising and reporting across our work.
You will support the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy and evaluation framework, and work alongside a small and committed staff team to understand, evaluate and champion our work through compelling written reports and applications to new funders.

Main tasks and responsibilities
Fundraising
- Work closely with the Director and Programme Director to oversee the review, development and delivery of our fundraising strategy.
- Undertake research to identify potential new sources of funding from a variety of sources.
- Support and where appropriate lead on the writing of funding applications for core and project funding.
- Develop written case for support documents (such as case studies, needs-based analysis) that can be used for a variety funding applications.
- Input into the development and ongoing review of an ethical fundraising policy, in line with NewBridge’s values and ethos

Strategy

Pipeline development and management:

Reporting to the Head of Programmes, Gender and Humanitarian the post holder will identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them form prospects to secured funds. The Programme Development Manager will provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements. As well as a demonstrable track-record securing large, multi-year grants from different types of funders, you will have experience with their thematic areas: women’s economic empowerment, value chains, livelihoods or enterprise acceleration. You will oversee the delivery of project outputs and outcomes, delivering energy and fuel debt advice directly to householders and be responsible for the preparation of reports to funders including collation of evidence of outcomes achieved; maintaining relationships with a network of stakeholders across a region.

You will have demonstrable experience of developing and/or managing projects in the fields of energy efficiency, community development and regeneration, housing, social policy or consumer issues.
It is important that you have an awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
You will need good organisational skills, as well as excellent written and communication skills, as you will maintain appropriate records and data, and produce regular written reports on project progress.

Key Responsibilities
Donor relationship management
- Develop lasting relationships with existing donors and new prospects, building and managing a portfolio of donors giving £5,000 upwards
- With the Philanthropy Manager and Major Donor Team, devise and implement online and offline communication plans with a clear focus on securing funds for CAFOD’s core programmes
- Steward donors effectively, to ensure satisfaction and long-term commitment. Communicate, thank and report back on the work of CAFOD using donors preferred channels, ensuring the highest standards of donor care
- Ensure systematic data input and management so that key information, donor interactions and communications are appropriately recorded in line with organisational systems and processes, and in compliance with GDPR and fundraising best practice
- Work with the Philanthropy Manager, the Research and Information Team, Senior Management colleagues and Trustees to carry out donor research, identify new prospects and grow the pipeline of donors.
- As part of the team’s wider work, contribute to (and at times lead on) hosting cultivation and stewardship events – including planning event logistics; sending and tracking invitations; hosting and speaking at events; co-ordinating follow-up and completing evaluations
Contribute to Major Donor strategy, plans and income targets
- Contribute to the development of team annual plans and income forecasts
- Maintain focus on your own and teams’ income and other KPIs
- Monitor your portfolio, prepare required analysis for monthly and quarterly reports and regular income forecasting exercises
- Develop ad hoc reports and data analysis to improve the donor programme and communicate key learnings to internal and external stakeholders

About you
We are in search of a candidate with expert major donor knowledge and a proven track record in donor management and fundraising. You will have experience soliciting five and ideally six-figure donations and have the ability to develop compelling appeals to raise funds for CAFOD’s core programmes. Additionally, you will comprehensively understand the significance of prospect research and portfolio management. You will have excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence, enabling you to foster strong relationships with donors and work colleagues.
Essential criteria for the role will include:
- Proven experience of managing major gift relationships at five-figure giving level
- Experience of implementing donor cultivation and stewardship plans – including online and offline appeals, tailored approaches and feedback communications; face-to-face meetings; event management
- Achieved successful income growth strategies
- Good written and presentations skills that would enable donors to engage with the work of CAFOD
- Good knowledge of how to input and use databases and how to follow systems and processes
- Prospect research experience

Location: The post holder’s location/office will be Liverpool based but they will also need to work where relevant/required including traveling, therefore a full, clean driving licence and access to your own car is essential. Mileage will be reimbursed for any travel used to deliver the role.

Summary
ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the Regional Safeguarding Lead role is to support safeguarding practice in dioceses and cathedrals across the Church of England.
As a Regional Safeguarding Lead, you will support the development of best safeguarding practices in one of eight regional clusters of Diocesan Boards of Finance (DBFs) and cathedrals. Providing professional supervision and quality assurance to Safeguarding Officers, you will support the implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice. You will also support Church bodies to respond to the findings of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme.
You will facilitate the sharing of best practices and resources, group supervision, and the commissioning of joint initiatives between Church bodies. Working closely with senior managers, senior clergy and other stakeholders, you will ensure Church-wide consistency in approach.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing 1:1 professional supervision to Safeguarding Officers in dioceses and cathedrals, informed by the 4x4x4 integrated/restorative model of supervision (Morrisson & Wonnacott).
- Providing advice and guidance on individual cases and safeguarding-related situations.
- Using tools and frameworks to examine practices and processes ensuring the Church of England's National Safeguarding Standards are being consistently met or worked towards.
- Leading regional networks of safeguarding professionals from dioceses and cathedrals, and facilitating joint working, sharing of resources and other mutual support arrangements.
- Establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders within dioceses and cathedrals, in particular, their senior leadership teams.
Please note: There are 5 Regional Safeguarding Lead roles available and these roles require home working and travel to dioceses and cathedrals as listed in the regions below, one of which is a part-time role at 0.6 FTE.

As a Conservation Projects Manager and a key member of the national Conservation team, you will work with experienced consultants and skilled craftspeople, with national and regional colleagues, volunteers, local partners and stakeholders to develop and manage a range of holistic, conservation and new use projects, from inception to completion, and providing professional advice and support to community led projects. You will lead on all capital, conservation and maintenance, programmes in the region.
You will have expertise and specialist knowledge in the field of historic building repair and conservation, and a proven track record of project management (client side) in the heritage sector.
