Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Strategy Development and Execution

Key Responsibilities
- The purpose of this role is to lead the charities Lotteries and Raffles team which has the goal of generating and inspiring support from both new and existing supporters. This person will advance existing products and campaigns towards their full potential as well as develop new campaigns and activity that drive growth, retention and engagement. In doing so, they will act as a key support to the Executive Director of Individual Giving and Lotteries in ensuring that the department achieves its income generation goals.
- Develop a clear vision and strategy to deliver sustainable income growth within the prize led fundraising channel.
- Drive and oversee all day-to-day activity around lotteries and raffles, ensuring campaigns are effectively coordinated and that broader teams are enabled to support delivery.
- Proactively find ways to increase the impact of the Lottery and Raffle income streams by developing and testing new approaches to player recruitment, retention and engagement.
- Supported by the Executive Director of Individual Giving and Lotteries ensure compliance of the KSS lottery activities against the charities Gambling Commission license conditions
- Ensure that the operations of the entire income stream, including those delivered by external parties, adhere to guidance and legislation set out by associated regulatory bodies. This includes but is not limited to the Gambling Commission, Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and Chartered Institute of Fundraising best practice guidelines.
Head of Lotteries and Raffles
The role of Head of Lotteries and Raffles is part of the management team within the Individual Giving and Lotteries directorate. This directorate plays a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with our supporters and generating sustainable income for KSS. Our Lotteries have a combined income of £9 million per year, and the Head of Lotteries and Raffles will be responsible for ensuring the consistent growth of these lotteries, and to ensure that we provide engaging and safe fundraising avenue for our supporters.

Head of Individual Giving
Since 2018, Connect: North Korea (CNK) has grown from a small community start-up into an effective and impactful organisation with an annual income of approaching £500,000, mainly through grants from Trusts and Foundations. We now want to develop our individual giving programme to build our unrestricted income and secure our long term growth.
As our new Head of Individual Giving, you will be responsible for growing our income from our individual and corporate base to help us reach more vulnerable members of our community. You will lead on individual fundraising relationships and initiatives, including appeals, fundraising campaigns, and all direct marketing activities and communications. You will position us in our supporters’ minds and encourage them to actively support CNK in 2025 and beyond.
Position: Head of Individual Giving

Based at: Our offices in New Malden KT3 with some remote/home working. We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate the right candidate.
Contract: Permanent. Full-time (35 hours per week) with occasional evening working required. Flexible hours/days possible whilst respecting core hours of 10am-4pm
Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 + 5% pension on qualifying earnings, health insurance and gym membership

Supported by the CEO, your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Strategy:

Strategise and plan our annual individual and corporate giving programme with targets and performance indicators.This will be a key focus area within our 2025/6 corporate fundraising strategy.

Report quarterly on progress. Use online analytics, social media insights and other metrics to help us learn, improve and grow our income from low, mid,major donors and corporate supporters.
Annual Corporate and Individual Giving Programmes:

Develop and deliver CNK corporate and individual giving fundraising programme of events, campaigns and appeals to raise £100,000 in 2025.

Work closely with CEO and CNK team members to craft information into compelling copy, asks, supporter updates, social media content and personalised campaign appeals.

Plan and deliver low and mid level individual giving campaigns to cultivate new donors, convert existing supporters from once off donations to regular givers and inspire donors to increase their current support.

Design and deliver our annual major donor giving programme. Cultivate, communicate and inspire new major donors to join us with the aim of increasing our current major donor pool by 10%. Steward current donors, keep in touch, craft compelling asks to support their progression towards more frequent or higher-value donations.

Report monthly to the CEO on the success of campaigns and programming, income raised, number of new supporters/followers, conversion rates, offering insight on ROI, learnings and how we will incorporate this learning to improve how we do things in future.
Fundraising compliance:

Save all profiles, donations, giving history, gift aid agreements, correspondence, and communications with supporters on CNK CRM database. Uphold GDPR and comply with fundraising best practice.
US Individual Giving Programme:

Contribute towards developing a new US individual giving portfolio through prospect research and crafting compelling fundraising asks.
Staff & Volunteer Management:

Create and manage a volunteer fundraising programme to grow individual giving through community events, social media and awareness raising.
The role has no direct line reports at present but there may be in future, budget permitting
Essential skills and experience:
You will have at least five, ideally eight, years experience of:

About The Role

This role looks after some of our community project officers who in turn provide information, advice, guidance, and support to a diverse range of stakeholders, including community buildings, rural housing enablers, Good Neighbours Schemes, Community Champions, Gypsy Roma and Traveller communities, and people in fuel poverty.
You will provide effective line management to our community project officers, focusing on developing them to excel in their roles and broaden their skills, making sure to lead by example and develop yourself alongside them.
Running the Charity
You will form an integral part of the management team, working in tandem with the Chief Executive, management team and Board of Trustees, supporting the charity in strategic leadership, performance management and development our projects and services.

The Nuts and Bolts
Our offices are in Burpham, Surrey (GU4 7HL). This role can be delivered from the office, or as a hybrid role with 2-3 days in the office per week.
You will report directly to the Chief Executive and be responsible for 5-6 project officers. You will be an equal part of our small management team and contribute to our trustee board meetings.
We are committed to continued professional development and will support you to develop your skills even further.
You may have to travel across Surrey and sometimes beyond, so access to transport would be an advantage where public transport is not an option (we can support you into Access to Work scheme as needed).

The Head of Fundraising is an exciting new role developed for the Society to increase fundraising and develop additional income streams to enhance the sustainability of the Society. They will help deliver the Transformation Plan, an exciting new project for Scotland’s oldest learned antiquarian Society to help deliver the Society’s vision: “Scotland’s past is for everyone to research, share, enjoy and protect, home and abroad”.
The Transformation Plan includes the acquisition and redevelopment of a B-listed building in central Edinburgh to co-create the most inclusive, low-carbon and heritage-rich space to work, visit and participate. This role will provide the necessary vision, leadership, and fundraising skills which will enable the Society to achieve its fundraising targets and enhance its development program.
They will be an effective fundraiser and key contact for grant giving organisations, personal donations and legacies. They will report directly to the Director sharing collective responsibility to deliver the Society’s strategy and vision.
Initially on a 2.5-year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding, the post will work as part of the senior management team and liaise directly with staff, Councillors (trustees), members (known as Fellows) and other organisations and individuals to ensure the successful delivery of their responsibilities.
The post will have the following immediate priorities:
· Helping develop and submit a major stage one Development Phase National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) grant application in collaboration with the Director and others, creating an engaging and successful proposal and case for support (part of an overall c£6m Transformation Plan project)
· Development and delivery of a major fundraising campaign based on personal giving, grant applications and other fundraising activities
· Working with staff and Councillors to develop the required transformation of the Society to deliver maximum public benefit in line with the Society’s vision and mission

· Advising members of SMT on the availability of funds and the viability of obtaining funds to support initiatives

Person Specification
The Head of Fundraising will have substantial fundraising and management experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing funds from statutory sources, foundations, trusts and major donors. They will be a key contact for grant giving organisations, personal donations and legacies. They will report directly to the Director sharing collective responsibility to deliver the Society’s strategy and vision. As such they will need the following:

Further Information
This post is an initial 2.5-year (30 month) full-time contract which will be extendible subject to funding. There will be a short probationary period during which time your skills and suitability for the position will be assessed. Development of fundraising for the Transformation Plan will be the immediate priority. A lot of work has already been undertaken by the Society in preparing for an NLHF application as part of this, but the skill and experience of this post will ensure it has the maximum chance of success. This will include liaising with others, including NLHF staff and our consultants, the More Partnership.
The tasks and role will develop in line with the requirements in that application and the implementation of the Transformation Plan and will be reviewed after the submission of the initial NLHF bid. However, the core responsibilities will remain the development and delivery of successful fundraising strategies, increasing income to the Society.

About the Role
As Head of Communications, you'll play a key role in designing and implementing communications strategies for King’s Trust’s most celebrated events, including:
- The Global Gala in New York City: Co-chaired by Lionel Richie and Edward Enninful, this annual event brings together VIPs from fashion, entertainment, philanthropy, and business to raise funds for global youth programs. With over $4 million raised in past years, the Global Gala garners worldwide media attention and amplifies our impact on young lives globally.
- The King's Trust Awards and US Enterprise Challenge Finals: Following the Gala, you'll lead communications for the US Enterprise Challenge finals and provide ongoing support for the King’s Trust Awards and other events during a six-month term, with potential for a permanent position based on need and performance.

About the Role
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps of Lebanon.
We are seeking a dynamic Supporter Retention Manager to take MAP’s retention programme to new heights and contribute significantly to sustainable income growth. In this pivotal role, you will develop and implement retention strategies and plans with a focus on regular giving and supporter journeys that deepen loyalty and grow life-time-value. You’ll lead multi-channel campaigns and innovate supporter journeys, ensuring MAP’s loyal supporters stay engaged and inspired. You’ll champion excellence in all aspects of campaign planning and execution, introducing new products and propositions that align with MAP’s Individual Giving and Fundraising strategies. You’ll develop and manage annual budgets, including setting income and expenditure targets and providing regular forecasts and risk assessments. Beyond the role’s core responsibilities, You’ll have opportunities for professional growth and access to training and development to further enhance your direct marketing skills.

Duties and key responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
• Build and inspire a high-performing, results-oriented team focused on delivering sustainable income to maintain and build on recent growth.
• Hire, performance manage, support and develop the Individual Giving Fundraising Officer.
• Lead the development and delivery of Individual Giving strategies, leading on MAP’s Individual Giving retention strategy with a focus on loyalty, regular giving and lifetime value.
• Work across and develop MAP’s retention products and journeys, including developing loyalty and regular giving appeals.
Planning and Management of Campaigns
• Collaborate with the Head of team and peers to develop team plans aligned with the Fundraising strategy.
• Ensure the team create and optimize insight-driven, supporter-led campaigns, working with the Marketing Manager and Insights lead.
• Ensure processes and systems are in place to track and meet KPIs, including the development of robust testing plans to optimize campaigns based on insights.
• Manage and motivate a range of agency partners and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising legislation and stay updated on changes in relevant thinking and laws.
Innovation
• Lead the investigation, testing, and implementation of product innovations using agile methods to test and learn with efficiency.
• Develop bespoke, audience-led supporter journeys, including ongoing journeys for UK and international supporters.
• Proactively stay ahead of emerging trends, and thrive working in a fast-paced, agile manner, acting on learnings to optimize activity.
Budget Management
• Create annual budgets for the Individual Giving programme, setting income and expenditure targets, with support from the Head of team.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/training
• Relevant direct marketing/fundraising qualification and/or equivalent experience.
Knowledge / Experience
• Relevant experience in fundraising and/or marketing, with experience of direct marketing and developing supporter/customer journeys and campaigns to build long-term loyalty, engagement and income growth.
• Experience managing a regular giving or loyalty programme.
• Confident with end-to-end project management, including managing multiple projects and priorities at once.
• Experience leading multi-channel, data-led campaigns, including loyalty and cross/upsell/reactivation activity - with evidence of engagement and income growth across channels including mail, email, SMS and TM.
• Strong track record in developing direct marketing strategies.
• Experience in strategic planning, project management, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience managing external stakeholders and agency partners – including creative/DM, print, SMS/TM and fulfilment agencies.
• Experience in analysing and presenting data for informed decision-making, as well as leading others to develop testing plans and optimise campaigns.
Skills
• Able to confidently analyse results, digest complex data, and extract insights to inform strategies and campaigns. This includes regular giving and audience analysis.
• Expertise in digital and written communication, with a supporter-centric approach.

This is a key role within the Operations Department reporting directly to the Operations Director, and working closely with Finance and Communications (our fundraising and marketing function). Supporter Care aims to deliver exceptional service to our supporters in terms of administering donations and postal logistics, and via our call-centre. Therefore, a key focus will be the leadership of the Administration and Telephone Support teams (both are within Supporter Care).
A significant objective for this role is the implementation of a new CRM system which is part of UCB’s wider integrated data strategy. Working alongside IT, and Finance in particular, the Head of Supporter Care is responsible for the management of data in the new CRM system. Therefore, you will have knowledge and previous experience of working with CRM systems. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring Supporter Care staff are trained, and associated ways of working are stream-lined.
We expect you to have leadership experience with strong business acumen and service development, educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience. As part of UCB’s leadership team you should welcome the challenge of prioritising a busy and diverse workload with the ability and flexibility required to meet tight deadlines and the initiative required to guide the Supporter Care staff through this transition period. A working knowledge of regulations associated with fundraising would be ideal, but not essential (such as HMRC, ICO, GDPR, Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulation).
This position will be based at our Operations Centre, Westport Road, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent ST6 4JF
