What you will be doing:
We’re searching for an energic and dynamic fundraiser to develop and lead our fundraising team, as they, in turn nurture our existing supporters, inspire and engage new supporters and ensure the delivery of excellent fundraising across Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire and Somerset.
You will be part of the Fundraising leadership team, who together with the Director of Fundraising, set, monitor, and support an established team to deliver against annual income and expenditure budgets for the South West, helping to make the most of short of and precious lives.
You will oversee all fundraising activities in your region over multiple income streams, this will include community, corporate and events, and you will personally lead on major donor fundraising and represent the Charity at third party events. You will also work with the Director of Fundraising and other Heads of Fundraising in developing our fundraising activities and support CHSW wide events.
About you:
You will have a successful background in the management of regional fundraising/sales activity and a proven ability to meet and exceed ambitious fundraising/sales targets and in managing expenditure budgets. You will need a thorough understanding of relevant legislation/charity law affecting fundraising practice. With a natural ability to engage and build rapport, enthuse and motivate others, you will have experience of building and developing strong relationships and be able to influence and negotiate with stakeholder, client and donor relationships. You will have experience of leading and motivating a fundraising team creating an environment where they are empowered to go the extra mile and make suggestions and improvement. You will have the opportunity to use your creative and inquisitive nature in developing and growing the fundraising activity in your region. Naturally, for a diverse and busy role

The Communications Team sits within the Marketing and Communications (MarComms) Directorate which builds brand awareness and engagement among the public, builds our profile with the media and key stakeholders, and supports fundraising activities to generate income to keep the service running. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver targeted, engaging and impactful communications to support the successful delivery of KSS’s strategic objectives
- Play a lead role, in collaboration with colleagues in the Income Generation and Marcomms Team, in delivering successful integrated campaigns and support income generation activity including generating key messaging and communications
- Work with the team to develop and deliver our PR and Communications strategy, ensuring excellence in all our activity with consistent brand identity, key messaging, and tone of voice to maximise all opportunities.
- Ensure all other teams are confident and equipped in communicating our brand identity, key messages and tone of voice, and support teams in maximising the impact of their communications
- Lead our in-house press office, supporting an increase in media coverage across print, online and broadcast both locally and nationally. Be able to work to a strategic plan as well as have the flair to spot a story and other PR opportunities to further engage our audiences in our lifesaving work.

About the Role

The roles and responsibilities
As People Lead, you will play a key role in supporting Unifrog employees to work at their best. Working closely with the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, the role is responsible for managing the finance function and developing a culture of providing financial help and support across the charity. There are over 60 million working donkeys and mules in the world, but millions are being killed every year for the inhumane donkey skin trade, leading the African Union to announce plans for a moratorium on donkey slaughter and the development of a strategy for working animals across the continent. This huge opportunity is just one way that charity and its advocacy work can change the world for donkeys and mules, giving them the protection they need and the health and welfare they deserve.
As Head of Advocacy, you will work in partnership with the Director of Advocacy & Campaigns, the CEO and other Senior Management to deliver the organisational strategy by developing inspiring advocacy plans based on clear strategy, integrated with other departments of the organisation.
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Director of Advocacy and Campaigns to design and implement an advocacy strategy to effect lasting change for donkeys and mules in line with our organisational aims.
- Building and developing networks of key stakeholders to achieve genuine change and lasting impact on the welfare of donkeys and mules.
- Representing the organisation at key stakeholder engagements, strategic high level forums and in the media, as appropriate.
- Functionally lead advocacy through the creation of a global advocacy strategy that supports teams to deliver high quality and consistent advocacy.
- Working closely with other departments to ensure advocacy integrates with other streams of the sanctuary’s work and ensure the organisation has the support and infrastructure to deliver excellent advocacy outcomes.

Switchboard’s listening service caters to all LGBTQIA+ communities in the UK.
