As the Finance Director, you will manage the efficient and effective running of the finance department and lead on the strategic development of CSW’s multi-year financial planning providing responsive reporting and adaptive forecasting to the CEO, the SLT (of which you will be part) and the charity’s Board of Trustees. You will be an excellent financial professional, self-motivated and passionate about your work. You are proactive and willing to work well with others to achieve targets. To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant financial qualification or be qualified by experience. You will have substantial experience at middle or senior financial management level in the commercial or not-for-profit sector, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire people when working in a team. You will possess strong strategic planning skills, and a good grasp of key charity accounting and database software; principally Sage Line 50, Raiser’s Edge, electronic/online banking, Microsoft Office, especially Excel at advanced level. You should have good knowledge of financial budgetary and accounting systems, as well as the ability to ensure operational excellence.

We are looking for a Head of Financial Accounts to join our busy Finance and Commercial directorate and lead our Financial Accounts team.
Reporting to the Director of Group Financial Accounts and Business Processes, this role will see you devising and maintaining a system of internal financial controls, policies, delegated authorities and procedures to safeguard RBL funds (RBL charity and subsidiaries) and ensure that funds are spent in line with charity law, applicable accounting standards and donor wishes.

About the role
The Finance and Risk Manager will be a member of the Reaching the Last Mile project (RLM) supporting NTDs Elimination Programme Management Office (PMO) and will report to the Director, RLM and Finance Manager. Reaching the Last Mile (RLM) is a high profile, high value, multi-partner programme, which will make a significant contribution to the control and elimination of the Oncho LF.
The Finance and Risk manager will be responsible for supporting in-country financial oversight, maintaining consolidated programme accounts, cash flow management, payment processes and ensuring that the risk mitigation strategy is applied throughout the project. This resource will work closely with the Finance Manager, the Head of PMO and implementing partners to ensure the financial principles of the contract are complied with and that proper accounting records are maintained for reporting to RLM donors.

- Financial Oversight: Conduct reviews and provide feedback on financial documents for RLM and other programmes, ensuring partners and Sightsavers' staff maintain rigorous standards.

Blue Marine Foundation seeks to protect and restore life in the ocean, aiming to see at least 30 per cent of the world’s oceans protected by 2030. We are a London-based NGO, with around 50 projects in 25 countries around the world.
Following a phase of sustained growth, Blue Marine is seeking a Head of Operations. This new team member will support the Director of Finance, Operations and Governance to manage a broad scope of operational functions, particularly focused on contracts and agreements, data management, risk management, systems and security. I am delighted to be working with a fantastic disability organisation in search of a Finance Manager. This is a full-time West Midlands/London based (with occasional travel) hybrid role for three months. Your role will be to lead on financial support including data analysis, cash and investment management, insurance, control of the ledgers, annual accounts process and completion.
Key responsibilities:
Production of SORP compliant annual financial statements.
Administration of the insurance and investments

The Finance Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the Charity and providing timely and accurate financial information. The team is responsible for ensuring there is a strong financial control environment, and for providing support and advice on all finance matters to employees across the charity.
You will be required to be in the office at least two days per week and will have a high level of financial acumen and understanding. As the Finance Manager - Compliance, Controls & Reporting, you will assist the Head of Finance in all elements of technical accounting, including financial compliance, internal financial controls, and financial reporting. Working alongside the Finance Manager - Transactional Accounting and the transactional finance team, you will ensure a seamless finance function, ensuring that best practice is adopted at all times, to minimise risk to financial fraud, and to ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Support the development and implementation of best financial practices.
· Lead the production of annual financial statements and reporting, and together with the Finance Manager - Transactional Accounting, lead the annual audit process.
· Lead the on the production of annual financial statements and annual audit on behalf of Alzheimer’s Brain Bank, a small joint venture company in which we hold a 50% share.
· Cash flow monitoring and projections.
· Prepare and submit all Office for National Statistics, Charity Commission, Companies House and OSCR (Scottish Charity Regulator) returns.
· Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with VAT reverse charges and applicable business/non-business VAT recovery rules.
· Be the first point of contact for internal and external partners regarding technical accounting and related matters, including charity VAT and Trading rules.
· Provide financial information for funding bid applications.
· Provide financial advice regarding income recognition criteria, particularly regarding legacy accruals and philanthropy pledges.
· Provide financial advice regarding expenditure recognition criteria, particularly regarding multi-year grants.
· Monitor and reconcile all restricted income against restriction forms and the grant system to ensure restricted funds are managed and spent in accordance with donor wishes.
· Review policies and procedures alongside the Head of Finance and the Finance team to ensure they are applicable, up to date, understood across the charity and consistently adhered to.
· Maintain a sound financial control environment, ensuring all assets of the charity are safeguarded against financial fraud, as much as possible.
· Working with the Head of Finance, design and implement an assurance programme on internal financial controls.
· Keep up to date with all technical finance developments and reporting requirements applicable to the charity.
· Manage Finance team GDPR deletion requests and GDPR compliance actions.
· Maintain insurances for the organisation and be the first point of contact between insurance brokers and the organisation for queries and claims.
· Manage the interface between the finance system and the grant management system to ensure the correct recognition and ageing of grant liabilities.
· Provide cover for the Finance Manager - Transactional Accounting as required.
· Undertake any other relevant duties and projects delegated by the Head of Finance, in line with the responsibilities of the post.
What we are looking for:
· ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
· Experience in a previous finance role.
· Statutory accounts preparation and audit experience.
· Good understanding of VAT.
· Strong understanding of internal financial controls.
· Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and numeracy skills.
· Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage workload effectively and work proactively.
· Ability to communicate effectively to colleagues at all levels across the Charity.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Prospectus is delighted to be supporting Switchboard LGBTQIA+ Support line as they look to appoint their first Head of Operations to the organisation to develop and strengthen their internal operational capacity and support the organisation as it continues to grow following the recent celebration of its 50th anniversary. This position is offered on a full-time hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days working in the London office a week.
Switchboard’s listening service caters to all LGBTQIA+ communities in the UK. This is a safe space for anyone to discuss anything, including sexuality, gender identity, sexual health, and emotional well-being. Handling over 17,000 conversations each year, their services continue to be in high demand, with their network of volunteers offering a vital service to people across the country in times of need, but also providing incredible insights into the issues that impact the LGBTQIA+ community the most.
Having been largely volunteer-resourced for most of its history, Switchboard has recognised that the charity has outgrown the ability to remain entirely volunteer-led and has sponsored a cultural shift within the organisation. Since 2021 they have been on a journey to establish a staff team and are now looking to introduce this new role as they grow throughout 2024 to a team of 11.
The Head of Operations will work as part of the Senior Leadership Team and will support the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategy and operational plan to support longer-term evolution and growth of the organisation and its services. This will involve focus on the organisations IT and technical infrastructure with oversight on other business and governance functions including Finance, HR, and Facilities.
