The Role
The Trusts & Foundations Manager (maternity cover) will be an experienced and accomplished Trusts & Foundations fundraiser, who will secure £500k+ in grants towards the Team’s £3.5 million projects income target, enabling the Charity to deliver its exciting capital and activity Masterplan.
Skillful at assimilating and interpreting complex information to craft compelling, high-level funding proposals, self-motivated and tenacious, the post holder will manage a personal portfolio of T&Fs, researching, developing and submitting high-quality, personalised five and six-figure funding proposals to contribute towards individual project targets.
Working as part of a small Team of experienced T&F and major donor fundraisers, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will play a key role in developing and managing the funding pipeline, delivering exceptional donor cultivation and stewardship to secure the income needed and establish a strong and loyal donor base for the Charity.
The post holder will have impeccable interpersonal and presentation skills and be comfortable representing the Charity and engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Charity to achieve its strategic goals by generating the fundraising income required to deliver core activity and development works
- Work with the Major Gifts Team to build, manage and implement the funding pipeline, conducting research, writing briefing notes / cultivation plans, maintaining CRM records and producing regular progress reports
- Manage a personal portfolio of T&Fs: conduct research, develop and implement bespoke cultivation plans, prepare and deliver high-level funding proposals and provide exceptional stewardship
- Work with colleagues across the organisation to monitor project progress and help colleagues to understand and support the fundraising process
- Deputise for the Head of Major Gifts as required
- Support the Head of Major Gifts and the Head of Impact & Learning to plan and deliver project impact reports for funders
- Manage the Fundraising Officer, supporting them to manage their own portfolio of T&Fs, reviewing and providing constructive feedback on funding applications and ensuring that they provide efficient administrative support to the Major Gifts Team
Person Specification:
Experience and Knowledge
- Experienced T&F fundraiser with a good working knowledge of the sector
- Demonstrable success of securing five and six figure grants
- Expert bid writer
- Experience of managing senior stakeholders
- Basic understanding of logic / theory of change models and social impact measures
- Experience of using a CRM system
- Knowledge of charity financial governance and gift management processes
- Experience of business planning and managing a budget
- Some experience of people management is desirable

About the role:
The Fundraising Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining corporate partnerships that increase income and diversify funding. The post holder’s primary focus will be community organisations, businesses and other bodies.

The fundraising team at Leeds Castle was established relatively recently, in January 2023, and is responsible for securing funds from trusts, foundations, public bodies and individuals. There is a vast ongoing cost to care for a 900-year-old Castle and Estate and they need to generate income above and beyond the successful visitor & hospitality businesses. The postholder will play a crucial role in delivering a funding strategy to support their new multi-million-pound project ‘safeguarding the Castle for the next 900 years’.
The successful candidate will bring strong knowledge and experience in trust and foundations fundraising, with a clear record of funding achievement. Working with the Head of Audience Development & Fundraising, you will drive forward their fundraising strategy, strengthen the trusts and foundations pipeline and apply for match funding opportunities. Starting salary: £30,502 (outside of London, with a £3k annual travel bursary)/£34,162 (inside London) Under our Employee Ownership Trust model, all team members will also receive an equal share of the profits each year. The amount will depend on how much profit is made.

This position, which sits in the Policy & Campaigns team, plays a key role in developing and implementing Liberty’s policy and campaigning priorities: undertaking high quality research, influencing decision makers, building coalitions, producing policy and campaign materials, providing policy input to strategic litigation, and building public and political support for Liberty’s work.

This is a key role in securing the long-term policy change needed to protect the human rights and civil liberties of everyone who lives in the UK.
Policy & Campaigns Officers monitor and respond to policy threats to our human rights frameworks, to our rights to protest and to live free from discrimination. They work with political players and civil servants to steer policy and legislation. They produce high-quality, persuasive content and translate complex legal and policy arguments in a clear and compelling way for mass audiences. They lead and support other human rights and civil society organisations, lending expertise and building solidarity. We have worked with civil society to fight back against the Police, Crimes, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 and the Public Order Act 2023 and to see off threats to our Human Rights Act.
We are looking for a strategic thinker who brings a collaborative approach to their work. You will have policy and research experience in human rights, or a related field such as the equality sector or social welfare sector. You will have a strong understanding of how to secure policy change in challenging political environments.

JOB PURPOSE
The Strategic and Commercial Partnerships Senior Manager is an exciting new role within Start Network. It will hold responsibility for creating a new function, co-creating a new strategy and growing a small team to drive (non-financial) strategic partnerships for the organisation. It will also explore the possibility of establishing a commercial partnerships function with the Business Development Director.
This role will lead one of our most exciting new areas of work. They will help Start Network manage current strategic partners (such as ARC who we partner with for insurance in Africa), but also establish connections with new potential partners globally (particularly in the areas of system change, digital, humanitarian insurance, AI, etc). These new partners will maximise the impact of our work, enhance our ability to influence system change or simply engage in the exchange of knowledge around our innovation ambition. The candidate will first build a clear understanding of all our strategic partnerships across the organisation; find ways with Heads/Managers of teams to maximise them (focusing on strategic impact and effective collaboration); and finally implement a plan to scope further partners globally in line with Start Network’s strategy and gaps.
Our hope is that after 12 months we will have set up a new function which will nurture and maximise current strategic partners for the benefit of system change globally, as well as having a clear understanding of gaps for future partnerships. This role will then continue to look for new, high impact relationships globally that can support the internal operations of the organisation and our members and hubs and advance our strategic aims. Beyond this, they will have explored potential commercial partnerships for Start Network in the short to medium term.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and managing successful partnerships globally, a strategic mindset, and the ability to think creatively to identify new opportunities. Further, it will require commercial experience, understanding of building social

The Senior Philanthropy Manager role leads the Philanthropy function at Centrepoint, driving the team forward as they embark on the cultivation of a strong new prospect pipeline. As part of the role, you will be responsible for a team bringing in income of over £1.3m per year, with a view to double income over the next 3 years. Working closely with the Head of Relationship Fundraising, you will lead the development of team plans, ensuring that Centrepoint diversifies its high value donor portfolio, and delivers sustainable unrestricted and restricted income. To be successful in the role of Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will need:
- Proven experience of working with high value donors as a leading professional in the area of philanthropy.
- Demonstrable experience of securing major donor gifts at £100k+, with excellent writing skills to support the delivery of proposals.
- Proven experience of developing effective donor relationships and provision of excellent stewardship, with knowledge of the changing philanthropic landscape.
