Our current business and data systems have evolved as the community has grown over the last 5 years. Now we’re in a really strong position to do more, and do it better. To harness the power of our diverse community data so that we can know, serve and delight our members. Supporting them to learn more and meet others in the same role so that they can have maximum impact in their own schools for their own students.

What experience and track record do you have?
It’s not essential you tick every box. But the more boxes you can tick the better. It goes without saying, we can help you gain and learn from the experiences you haven’t had yet.

Proven experience across CRM, databases, community/content platforms, newsletter distribution, integration and automation tools. This could be from previous roles such as data analytics, community building, digital marketing or business transformation.

Comfortable with principles of coding in Python but no need to be a pro.

Strong understanding of data management and GDPR requirements.

Led digital transformation/change projects, with a strong approach to project management and stakeholder engagement.

Designed and delivered training, and/or produced clear and concise written user guides, taking time to understand the needs and starting points of the team.

We are on the lookout for talented comms experts who understand the importance of effective, accurate, timely online communications and can enhance the work of our expanding social media moderation team.
About the role
Our dedicated team moderate on our full service accounts (all organic content and paid ads) as well as one off campaigns and appeals for some of the most recognisable charities in the sector.
This role is perfect for skilled comms experts who can provide excellent supporter care, and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9am (or earlier), wrap up by 9pm and adhere to our sub-three hour response time.
Our moderators must have a minimum of three years’ in-house, third sector comms experience.
As a Social Media Moderator, you would be responsible for:

Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines and tone of voice at all times

Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

Managing your own time and work on own initiative

Working across a range of social media management tools

Responding/actioning to all comments and queries in under three hours

Maximising donations when required

Going above and beyond at all times to provide supporters with an incredible experience
Our moderation takes place between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday-Sunday.
Different accounts will require varying levels of ‘active’ hours (defined as time spent taking action). You will split your active hours between 9am and 9pm. For example, for an account which requires three active hours, you might carry out your work in six, thirty minute instalments throughout the shift.
As you gain experience, you will be allocated multiple accounts which will enable you to increase your hours worked.
Whilst you need to be on hand to monitor your accounts during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' professional comms experience, working with a large charity with an active social media following. They will understand the importance of building positive engagement and relationships with the public and be committed to act in the best interests of our charity partners.

- Responsible for ensuring WasteAid’s fundraising and communication activities follow best practice and are compliant with internal policies and procedures, GDPR, the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation, Charity Commission requirements and all other relevant legislation

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in fundraising/income generation (or a related field) with good influencing (e.g. writing or pitching) skills
- Experience of developing new fundraising relationships or supporting existing relationships
- Experience of generating funds from supporters. Specifically corporate partners, small-medium sized businesses, trusts and foundations
- Experience managing corporate relationships, understand and delivering client requirements
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make communications engaging and persuasive for a diverse range of audiences
- Excellent diplomacy and relationship skills
- Ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders with a proven ability to build relationships and partnership working
- Strong and effective networking skills
- Effective IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and use of fundraising CRM systems, knowledge of desktop publishing packages would be an asset

Role Summary

As the Fundraising Manager concentrating on major donors & corporates, you will play a pivotal role in scaling School Plates, our flagship UK programme, aimed at making school menus healthier and more planet-friendly. With our School Plates Awards and Global Plant-based School Food Network both expanding rapidly —currently working with 70 major school caterers feeding over 1 million children daily —you’ll drive growth by securing crucial funding from major donors and corporate partners.

Reports to: Director, UK
Location: Remote (home-based), UK
Key relationships: UK Director, UK Head of Programme, International Fundraising Manager, International Grant Writing Manager, other relevant internal departments and external stakeholders
Hours: 32-40 h per week
Salary range: £40-42,000 (based on 1FTE) depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Lead and innovate UK fundraising efforts, focusing on major donors and corporates.
- Develop a creative 3-year fundraising strategy and set actionable annual and quarterly objectives.
- Cultivate and expand relationships with new major donors, moving them along a prospect pipeline.
- Support the stewardship of existing major donor relationships, ensuring continued and increased support.
- Draft compelling theories of change, cases for support, and other key materials.
- Manage our visionary ‘donor circle’ initiative.
- Build and strengthen corporate partnerships, crafting tailored cultivation plans.
- Support the writing of successful grant applications and reports, as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of fundraising experience, ideally within an NGO or a related field.
- Proven success in securing significant funds from donors or corporates.
- Exceptional project management and organisational skills and the ability to write strong proposals and reports
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a confident and engaging presence and an impact driven mindset
- Significant experience in researching and developing strong stakeholder relationships
- Ability to travel nationally as needed.
- Deep passion and commitment for ProVeg’s mission
Preferred:
- Knowledge and understanding of the plant-based food sector.
- Membership of a professional fundraising body
