The Opportunity
We are seeking a Programme Officer to join our Work Experience Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, enthusiastic and confident individual to join us in a role which has responsibility for ensuring suitable and safe work experience placements are sourced, managed and available for students. Our Work Experience programme provides a taster of the ‘World of Work’ helping to raise career aspirations and support academic progression. Our team work with local and central London employers and education providers to source, manage and co-ordinate placements for over 5,000 young people each academic year.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- To secure, update and manage work experience placements.

To handle telephone enquiries about the work experience programme, communicating with teachers, employers, parents and schools.

To be a key point of contact for schools/educational establishments managing and overseeing the work experience process.

To produce information and provide support to the Head of Work Experience and other team members.

Job Purpose and Summary
Do you want to be part of an exciting and varied fundraising programme?
Currently, our student team supports hundreds of students per year to take part in some incredible fundraising challenges. This includes national and international treks and marathons, such as climbing Kilimanjaro, trekking across the Morocco High Atlas Mountains or running 26.2 miles through Budapest.
We have two roles available for Student Fundraising Assistants to work with the current team across campuses in the UK and one in Ireland. With the purpose to engage with students at our partner universities and inspire them to join us on a fuindraising challenge to defeat meningitis and tick off a bucket list adventure.
The Student Fundraising Assistant will support the student team with recruiting students to take on one of these challenges. Some primary tasks and activities will include attending freshers' fairs, presenting about Meningitis Research Foundation’s student programme at information meetings and making phone calls to those who have registered their interest.
This role requires strong prioritisation and communication skills, sensitivity and flexibility. Whether you come with direct fundraising experience or have transferable skills that the role requires, we will support and develop you to excel in your role. What we are really looking for is someone passionate about making a difference and who is confident and outgoing when talking to new people. You will be the face and voice of the cause when talking to students.
Meningitis Research Foundation is based in Bristol, but this role is flexible and is open to remote working with regular visits to universities across the UK.
We offer an annual salary of £23,000 (pro-rata), 6% employer pension contribution and employee assistance program alongside annual leave of 25 days per year (pro-rata). You will report to the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events and Community) within the Fundraising Team and work closely with the Student Team who will assign day-to-day activities.

The Database Manager position is an exciting new opportunity to work alongside the Head of Salesforce to develop a solid foundation working with the world’s largest integrated CRM platform, Salesforce. Winston’s Wish is currently leveraging various Salesforce products, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Non-Profit Success Pack. Additionally, we are investing in Marketing Cloud and AI in the upcoming year as part of our strategic shift towards a 'digital first' approach.

Main Responsibilities
What you'll do:
- You’ll be our 'go-to’ person for Salesforce end users;
- Support the day-to-day platform administrative functions and configuration including user management, permissions, sharing rules, objects, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, reports & dashboards;
- Working on declarative development utilising Flows, custom objects, workflows, validation rules and security configuration;
- Support day-to-day user queries;
- Proactive system maintenance including keeping up with Salesforce releases, features and best practices;
- Data management to improve Salesforce data quality, implementing rules and automation as needed;
- Collaborate with Fundraising, Bereavement Services and Marketing & Communications to gather and analyse business requirements and translate into scalable solutions;
- Provide ongoing user training and create training materials/technical documentation as needed;

Person Specification

- Certified Salesforce Administrator with at least 1 years’ experience or someone with 1 years’ experience of working in Salesforce at an administrator level (but would like to achieve the Salesforce Administrator Certification);
- Confident using DataLoader to manage imports and exports of data;
- Demonstrated experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes including (but not limited to): Flow, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, dashboards and reports;
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels;
- A proactive attitude to implementing best practice solutions;
- Demonstrates enthusiasm towards continued personal/professional development;
- Hands-on experience with either Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, NPSP and/or FormAssembly, don’t worry if you haven’t got experience of all of them;
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues at all levels.
Additional information, if you are yet to obtain the Salesforce Administrator Certification
- During the first 6 months, time will be allocated to self-learning/self-development via Salesforce’s Trailhead learning platform and other resources;

Development Officer

As Development Officer, the main part of the role will involve assisting the new Business Manager with appraisal of development opportunities across ISHA’s core and key working boroughs to meet the organisations business development growth. This will comprise review of potential projects and communication with multiple agencies to include Landowners, Estate Agents, and developers as well as internal and external stakeholders like local authorities plus our regulator and funding body, the Greater London Authority. The role also requires working closely with the development team both Delivery and Sales to the agreed development programme to achieve handover and completion.
In addition to the above, there are other aspects of the role you will be required to undertake and involve reporting and monitoring of defects and latent defects across our projects to ensure these are resolved to a satisfactory conclusion and outcome, whilst ensuring excellent customer services are delivered in line with ISHA’s core values. You will also help the team to take on the role of raising Purchase Orders and processing departmental invoices for payment to our approved suppliers within the agreed timeframe.

About the role
For the past five years, Platform’s fossil free work has focused on the coordination of the activist network UK Divest, with the aim to disrupt the financing of the fossil fuel industry through local government pension schemes. In the past two years, the remit of our work has expanded, to include new campaigns focused on exposing and disrupting fossil fuel industry sportswashing and the lobbying of Parliament. Now, with new campaigning underway on new targets in the pension sector, we are re-organising and growing our team to resource this exciting work.
Working alongside three Fossil Free Campaigners at Platform - and partners at Friends of the Earth Scotland - you will build on the strengths and learnings of past years to lead the strategic development of this important programme of work, incorporating UK Divest, Fossil Free Parliament, fossil free sports work, and new pensions work.
Our fossil free campaign is also inextricably tied to other movements for social justice. We are specifically seeking someone to develop the international solidarity potential of this work, understanding how fossil fuels are intertwined with the defence industry, colonialism, and global extraction more broadly. We want to target investment in and political support for fossil fuel companies because we believe it is intricately linked to broader global justice, such as the UK Government’s role in supporting destructive energy projects worldwide. The best divestment and anti-fossil fuel campaigning has been, and your future work will be, informed by and responsive to the BDS movement, the Global Energy Embargo for Palestine and anti-apartheid and arms trade work.
As a permanent member of Platform staff, you will also participate in the collective decision-making and running of Platform as an organisation, as well as having fundraising responsibilities alongside your project work.
